well still hleping 4 years later..... I was going to sync my one last night but I did just not finde were to plug in the meter, now I know so big thanks to you sir
Just changed slides and diaphragms for both of my vs800 carbs today. There was a little hole in one of the diaphragms. Now the bike runs like it is infected by some serious disease. Gonna do sync next because that's pretty much what it needs. Thanks for the video, very informative for a person like me who don't have much experience on motors... All I know after today is that those carbs are reaaaally haard get out / put back in :D
Thanks for making this definitely useful video! I never knew it was done with two little adjusters like that. What symptoms would the bike have if the idle sync was off, but the throttle sync was good? I have to wonder if this sync thing is what my bike has going on - random stumbles on takeoff, idles fine, hates cruising at low RPMs passionately, yet becomes smooth once above a certain RPM (a bit higher than idle, like 2k).
the intruder I just bought is exhibiting the symptoms of out of sync carbs....and it's pissing me the fuck off cause this bike will haul ass when it's opened up and I really wanna take it out on the road already...I'm glad I found this vid.
Great video with effective narration.. If you would produce a video showing the air fuel mixture screws for the Intruder 800 AND the VS1400..Where they are located, if still plugged how to remove, how to adjust this video would be a great follow up.. After all, if your carbs are not running right then you ain't gonna sync them.. right. By doing so you would become the one stop shop for everything Suzuki carbs.. I garronntee your viewership would sky rocket.. Dave
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure most models don't have air mixture screws . The only screws you will find are the ones he shows in the video that are used to plug the vacuum ports for the sync tool and these are screwed in all the way .
Mister Nitrous Oxide. Sweet video. I especially enjoy the commentary. Very similar to what rolls through my head while wrenching. Could you, or someone who may read this please explain the restrictors and how necessary they are to this procedure. The tuner you inlink to as well as the brass tube link dont have the restrictors. A much cheaper dial gauge kit also does not include them ( or list them if they do actually include them but not show them). Where does one acquire these restrictors? What size is the orifice in the restrictor you use in this video? would a welding gun tip work in place of what you have? Much thanks ahead, DazSpaz
Hey D K! Glad you enjoyed. The Motion Pro tool comes with the restrictors. They're just smaller rubber tubes that are sized perfectly for the airflow restriction. The restriction is necessary because full vacuum from a running engine is way too much for most tools to handle.
InvictvsNox Thanks for the reply. Any chance you could post a pic of an end shot of the restrictors so I can see how small they actually drop in internal diameter? Cheers man. Daz
Hella good video, curious about the year and your control pegs. Is that stock? Or an upgrade. I have an 2004 VS800 with mid control. I’m looking into getting highway/crash guard with pegs to spread myself out more. Any ideas? Thanks man, really enjoyed this video!
I remember fighting with my vs800. Manual said it is synced when pressure difference is 10mmHg, but in reality the bike was running poorly with that difference. 3mmHg difference and less made the engine run like a sportsbike. slight touch of gas and it revved effortlessly.
Good morning brother, I would like to know the name of this tool, because I am from Brazil and I have never seen one of these. here is everything analog, very nice. Leave the name here for me. Thanks.
I don't think you changed it much. IT still wasn't very close. You did manage to hang on the throttle a bit to level them off, then shut it off before showing the sync at idle.
Don't feel bad bro my bike did the same thing yours did on pulling off it died and I dropped that b**** right on the ground now I have it overheating problem too I don't know what's going on I got off the air out and everything but I don't know what's going on I think it's carbs need synchronized
Your video is great, just a little dark. Please, tell me something? Does VS800 have a fuel pump like Yamaha XV535? Or the fuel gets down only by gravity? Toledo from Brazil.
hmmm. Well now im not sure. My vs800 does seem to run fine. Rear cyl pops and I cant get over 65 in 5th gear. Carbs could be dirty but I was also told it would be off sync. This bike is complicated.
Thanks for the video, it's been very difficult to find one that's so detailed, you have answered alot of questions for me, on another note, you have a potty mouth!!
hey man I love your video very helpful. I also have a 1997 suzuki intruder vs800 and I'm currently having two problems. First one is that my rear carb is pouring fluid out of one of the ports where the air filter and rubber fitting connect to the carb and second I tried a simple way to check for vacuum and it shows that I have a lot of vacuum from the rear and barely anything from the front carb. any idea what my issue would be?

I have a 94 intruder 800, I was curious and just doing typical maintenance and it noticed that the bike wouldn't start with one spark plug out( the right if sitting on the bike). So I tinkered around trying to sync the carbs but they are a pain in the ass to mess with and some how I ended up switched the spark plug the bike would run on.. any ideas? The cylinder seems like it's flooding because the header isn't getting near as hot as the other one
+Sig_Schecter VERY comfy compared to stock. Great quality parts, great installation instructions, and great seller communication. My only criticism would be that they aren't as sturdy as the stock peg design. Perfect for everyday driving, but I would never stand on then. They're too far forward to stand on anyway, so it's never been an issue.
Hi, I have a Intruder VS800 from 1995, and I'm having some issues to remove the the chrome cover from the fork dust seal, you have any tip how remove them? Tanks.
Hello, that's a good video. I have an intruder bj 1992. she has been 15 years. I have removed the carburetor and cleaned and reinstalled. Now you have to syncronize them, so synchronize both cylinders set. but I do not really trust it. I have no tester for it. is that possible without it? Greetings to Garelli
great video, i was looking at the controls you have on yours and was wondering where you bought them, oem foot controls are a little close for comfort i'm not super tall or anything i am 6'2" and kinda awkward but not unbearable.

I'm sure you probably already solved the problem , but it could be a lot of things . 1 a stuck slide , 2 a torn diaphragm , 3 The float level could be too high or too low , 4 a pinched fuel line . Hope you get it running right !
Hey, just got myself an '02 Intruder vs800gl and want to put forward control pegs on it, what is this guy running? Or can anyone give me a link to ones that fit?

I cringe at this video every time I watch it but I hope it helps lol
Don't cringe, it helped me tremendously! Your train of thought is spot on like I think. I am now going to sync my 1400 intruder. Thanks

Where’d you find that seat?
have you done a video of your foward control install?
I didn't, actually. That was a bit before I started this channel, unfortunately.
did you list the brass rods what are they called
In the description!
Awesome video
Thanks!
Can anyone info me on what seat is on this vs? been looking for one like that for mine :\
Corbin Gunfighter!
I have a s50 Suzuki and every time I start it and give it a little Rev it dies even when it's warm it does the same thing ...what would that be
Can that cause an intruder 800 to backfire occasionallly just from the front cylinder at idle?
100% it can.
Thank you mane!
I have a 2002 gs800, every shop I call claims these bike's carbs are a major pain in the ass to sync and adjust in general. This vid shows me otherwise, or am I being naive?
I know this was posted 6 years ago but can someone tell me if this is the same process on the vl800 that only had one carb?
You would have no need to on that bike. This is the process to sync two carbs together on throttle.
What type of seat is that and were you get it at
This bike had a Gunfighter, by Corbin Seats
Dude, effin great vid, plus your're funny as hell. thumbs up.
Thank you so much. I hate this video, but it's apparently the most popular one hahaha.
Can that cause a vs 800 to miss bad on the front cylinder untill it get up to 1/4 throttle then it's fine .
Yes, 100%
Will this help bogging at around 40-50 mph? My front carb seems to be out of sync and is running pretty lean.
Yep!
what about if I have front carburetor is going from 5 inches of vacuum and jumps to 17 inches and it doesn't level and the other carburetor is at 16 to 17 inches of vacuum and this on rear carburetor. what do you suggest to do?
Carefully check your lines and carbs for vacuum leaks. Have you tried switching lines to see if you get the same result?
I need your help, I've got a VZ800 but it's the same engine. What is the point of the carb sync cable? The engines are not the same. The VZ800 Maurauder has an entirely different engine which I can't speak to, unfortunately. :/
@@InvictvsNox ah, my bad, it was another bike
Do you have to adjust the jets when you take the baffle out of the muffler and how do you do that
Nope!
Anybody know about the fuel air screw on the rear carb? I think i fucked mine up cause the cylinder isnt hot
I know this is a old video but where did you get that seat I’m tired of looking at the (loaf of bread ) back seat
It's a Corbin Gunfighter!
