Before the Dawn is my favorite April Wine song and it's not even on this list. This list could have used a few more songs from Harder...Faster, and The Nature of the Beast albums.

How did Before The Dawn and 21st Century Schizoid Man not make this list? Regardless, really enjoyed this informative review. Nature of the Beast tour at the CNE in '81 was my first outdoor rock concert (with Loverboy and Streetheart supporting), and it changed my life. Goodwyn let success go to his head for a while, which is a shame, but he could write with the best of them.

Sign of the Gypsy Queen is easily the Best April Wine song. So much more melodic than the two above it. Interesting that you call it a rocker John; I never thought of it that way because even though it’s up-tempo, it’s so melodic and the beautiful guitar picking in the verses is so moving that I’ve always thought of it as a ballad, albeit an up-tempo ballad. Not a conventional ballad per se, but it has the spirit and atmosphere of a ballad. Cheers.
