      Following your teaching makes" do not give up", "do not surrender", no matter the intensity of the practice, and the obstacles that we are living... Keeping the spirit and the mind focused towards our live in the best way that we may do... Sometimes as your cat we play as children, tender, but keeping the warriors model. Lots of love although you may not embrace it 🙏🌈💐🎶🌟

    Not only a great message, but the cat brought the message clearly to me. My ears were hearing the Master.... but soon, my eyes were on the cat, my mind followed, and together we heard not the last words of the Master. As I went back to rewatch the last few minutes, I had to laugh... best lesson in focus ever.... thank you.

    I'm former military, and I'll say that this same way of thinking is also instilled in us, just different ways of doing things. starts with the body first, then once you get that under control, get that first level of discipline things are added to you as stressors until eventually nothing bothers you anymore. shi heng yi is the same, just a different culture. It is the same for samurai and for the elite groups in any country, any religion.

    I value your teachings a lot, Sifu. I studied Kung Fu for 3 years in my teens, intensively. Now I'm 42 and your teachings, both technical and the insights, are helping me recover from deep depression. I'm pretty much recovered, but I'm more disciplined when I watch your videos, they inspire me. Like Kung Fu in my teens was holy, your videos in the beautiful meadows of the Temple are like, I wish I could go there and be a monk. Maybe some day I will be able to, I really feel I would be happy in that lifestyle. My recovery was by being alone and working out, meditating, reflecting. Thank you for all your work !! I wish happiness to you and those close to you, and all the best for the Temple. Miguel, Portugal.

    Breathing longer/deeper clears the mind. After a Breath session I usually sit for a while and just listen to my normal breathing cycle. Feeling the inner part of me and getting to know that aspect of myself. After every session because I’m out of shape, I feel the weaker parts of my body. Then after a while my mind kicks in and I start to focus on my goals. My thoughts are clearer and I become energized. This is a practice I vow to do daily with hopes of changing my mind and body. Thanks so much and stay safe💃🏽

    What I can say from my experience is...that all fears are presented in mind and all fears lead to fear from death. From neexistence of body. If we accept them and we accept own mortality...we can go through mind easier. I think that experience close to death can human mind clean so extremely well, that if person survive...so everything is like a walking in garden. I realised through experience that whole world including what I call my body is mental projection. Space around me is me, mountains and grass is me, all animals and people are me. Body which carry soul of my personality is small piece of what I can call me. And this "me" presented everwhere like a god or divinty is something eternal what was here before and will be after doesn't matter if body will be destroyed. Mind is often place full of thoughts and movements. But it use us. Exactly through all this Shaolin practice which you mention people can achieve calm mind. I did Yoga and Qi Gong for many years. But last word in achieving something have GOD (power of universe, nature, energy, everyone call it different). Ego can be cultivated but it's still cultivation. But completely it can give away only GODs grace. This power which hold us alive. Which is giving birth and death.
    Honestly I am thankful for those ancient teachings and philosophies because it's healing soul. It can take people out of self destruction from drinking, smoking and drugs etc and others addictions including it can repair their relationship to self (anxiety, depressions), it can repair relationships with people around (teaching us compassion, patience, forgiviness, love, understanding).
    Thankful that these teachings are going these days between people because it can benefit all of us. ❤🙏🏻
    And cat was very funny.😅🙈 They knows what is clarity of moment...

But then I noticed: I didn't stop when my feet were tired. I didn't complain when I was aching or exhausted. I exercised even after long shifts. And I used my free time wisely and carefully. Indeed, the Mind is a very powerful thing once you control your thoughts. The body influences the mind, but the mind controls the body. Training your mind is very important to function better. The body helps to control the mind in return through specific exercises like gigong or taichi, which is based on the link that connects the mind to the body... the breath.

      What if your body is "broken" through say spinal / neck injury. Then is it that you draw more strength / power from the mind? x

    • @beyourself3711
      @beyourself3711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SmileyBlue69 Yes. The mind like Master Sheng in his example regarding exercise/s.. is the first thing that "gives up". With an injury such as you mentioned, would require a homeostasis of both the mind and body.. I do not pretend to know the correct answer/s but I am one to reinforce hope, belief, endurance, and love can overcome obstacles in our way regardless of our circumstances.
      Sometimes, the mind is "broken" and the body becomes just a moving shell. It is why I love Master Shengs talks. I understand where I am in life and what I need to do to get more from it. Strengthening the mind can move different types of mountains as in the case of the "broken" body. : )

    Giving up in 1 practice session is ok. When the body signals the mind that it is tired, the mind should listen to the body, but command it to hold a bit longer than it feels comfortable. It is more important not to give up over the years. Body n mind will develop over the years.
