Technically the kawala would sound more ancient. The oldest known wind instruments we know of are bone flutes and they sound closer to a kawala then a ney.
The Ney is honestly wooooow ... But also its that blowing technique id love to get my head around it feels and sounds as if to stay in the center of the octaves
love this instruments!! I have a Quenas from peru...Tim whistle from Irelan...Dizi Chinese flute...Bansuri from india...and now i am learning to play the kawala 11' inch long BUT IS HARD Brother jaja. thanks for your teaching God bless you from Seattle Wa EEUU 😊👍

Hola, muchas gracias en primer lugar. Acabo de comprar un Ney y por aquí nadie sabe tocarla. Es posible obtener subtítulos en Español? En automático es prácticamente imposible. De todas formas muchas gracias. Saludos de Uruguay.

@@Arabinstruments thank you, I tried with that tutorial, but its always about practicing. I play different instruments and as always, musicians are the most patient creatures living. So I need to practice 4-5 hours per day. Its harder if no one plays “eastern” instrument in central Europe . However thank you for your videos.
Both sound offish if you have a good arabic musical ear..The quality of the sound and the amount of octaves you get out of a Kawala or a Nay rely on the knots in the cane and the way they're drilled inside, Kawala has 4 knots, Nay has 9 knots, without those natural knots in the cane, you can't get sharp notes, go and get a real cane Kawala if you want a good instrument..Arab instruments have those too..good luck.

You made a long sentence for someone who can't say else shit. But this is normal... If your brain was put inside a bird head, bird could just only blink eyes. I don't think the bird can fly with your brain...
Kemal Gül Keval & Ney originated in Africa, prominent for Egypt, used in mainstream Arabia & Persia; and then went everywhere else. Turks were the last ones to ever touch this instrument
I just got a Persian nay and I was wondering if it's different then the Turkish and the other nays. And I was also wondering if you can put up a video about it just so I can see how to play it because I am having a lot of trouble. And maybe how to take care of it.
Both have a very warm and sweet tone, Niri.
This video helped me decide on the Kawala. Thanks!

Like them both but the Ney with the deeper windier sound for me has a more ancient primal feel. Me likey.

I recently ordered an arghul. Is the fingering much the same as on the kawala? Thanks.
I think the arghul is tuned to maqam bayati and you can just go up the holes for going up the scale.
WOW! ITS BEAUTIFUL!
I have a Kawala, and thanks to your videos i already made the first sound, but it sounds like a normal sweet flute not like that arabian sound i want.
Can you recommend a list of those players?.
I know Abdallah Helmy, Saber Kawla.
I can't find much about Ibrahim Shahin.
Kawala 💜
Is the kawala instrument simular to the bansuri (indian instrument)?
can you play kavala with interdental embouchure ? what would be the difference ?

Aren't natural cane ones harder to play on for new people?
@@Malakith yes
reed neys are much much better. It barely sounds like a ney.
Ney and kawal is a Turkish instrument. Not arab.
Öncelikle ırkların bir önemi yoktur, ayrıca bende bir türk olarak diyorum ki, ney ve kavala Arabi çalgısıdır.
Pretty sure both originate from ancient egypt around 4-3k BCE, Ney even 5K BCE. 4.416 Years before the word „turk“ was mentioned the first time.
😂 lol Big joke
הסבר יפה מאוד
קוואלה נשמע הרבה יותר משמח
Lebih enak kawala
türkish Ney

Neither "Kaval" nor "Ney" arent Arabics instruments...
You dreaming man ney was always Arabic.
