You should have read more signs. The one on your way out of Kokiri Forest said something like "Forest people should not leave the forest. Violators will be shot. Survivors will be shot again." referring to that helicopter sequence :D

i hate to burst your bubble but it really has been abandoned. i don't know why they didn't put the year on the date of their intended update, but it's very misleading for people who stumble upon it.
the last update post was october 31st, 2014, so if they posted it for spring it would be around march or april of 2015.

it tells you the last update, and it tells you the latest update they were planning before it got shut down.
if the last update was october 31, 2014, and they planned a new version in "spring" without bothering to write the year down, then it would only make sense that they meant spring of 2015, but they couldn't make it happen, because like Luke said, he heard they got a cease and desist from Nintendo.
