I would make a solid wood stand it's very easy, that's 1,000 lbs on that stand. Especially if you have children in the house God forbid it collapses. Overall it's a very nice set up. 👌

Sorry to hear your fx6 fail. They work great, but when they leak, it can be a nightmare. I place a leak sensor next to fx6 just for safety. Overall though, i have no issue with the stand.
The one bouncing on the bottom has swim bladder disease; it usually comes from overfeeding. He might still be able to live if you stop feeding him for 3-4 days, otherwise he'll die. You probably want to isolate him to make sure. If other ones are doing that definitely lessen food you're giving them.

Honestly, I would never buy one of these from petsmart. I have a 125 gallon tank, exact same dimensions and whenever I saw the one at Petsmart something didn't look right to me. I took a closer look and measured the glass thickness of mine vs theirs and mine was nearly 1/4" thicker glass, these things are SO thin it freaks me out.

Thank you. The inner linings of silicone are great. No problem there. As for the stand… i know others never have a problem with it. When you make your purchase, make sure to look at the stand closely for defects from transportation. If there are no defects, you should be ok. I am some what careful when changing water. Get a little spill here and there. Just clean it off right away and you shouldn’t have problem. Building your own stand is a great idea as well. You can get this stand for 25% off if you play petsmart treat trail.

@@briellbartell5562 100% yes, I also recommend some type of foam or spacers between the bottom of the aquarium and the top of the stand additionally quality absorbent matting with good grip such as that used in a gym. nice! no blue lighting, background and substrate and wave movers are ok, I have 125 gallon but I put mines on cylinder blocks and wood using paint for back ground much stronger for any thing above 1800 pounds but this is nice enjoy!
DIY stand for it is the safest. I am very careful with water around this factory stand. One day though… i might have to make my own as well to be safe.
28 inches is quite large. They might have problems turning in the tank because the widths is tight. Sometimes if they try to turn and not enough room, they will end up hurting themselves and can lead to infections and/or death. I think a 220 gallons will be the minimum for that shark.
I am not sure if you mean stacking two stands then the fish tank in top or build your own stands? I wouldn’t put too much extra weight with the tank full since the stand only designed to hold the tank alone with a little more give.

I know others who have the same tank without problems. The most important thing is to make sure you don’t spill and let water sit at its base. I always use towels and put on my floor when i change water so any spill will get absorbed quickly. I have seen other people actually built a small base out of real wood and put the stand on. That is a smart solution to water spill problem.

aquarium stands & such I don't trust them so I make my own from thick wall pvc 2 inch & a counter top that I have a 75 gal on & it holds the tank sturdy cause the counter top is attached to the wall & strapped to the pvc pipe so it's not going any where. That's a pretty good size aquarium, makes me want to rethink about what I was planning with the stock tank idea I had ? hum
Yeah, building your own stand will always be better. 125 gallons give you a lot of options for a variety of fish. Try some cichlids if you want something different than goldfish.
Very nice tank but i would recomend that you put substrate in i think your best option would be sand because the substrate is very important for holding fish waste and other stuff such as food
The glass on both tanks has a light tint. It is hard to show in video. if you ever see the difference between the ultra clear glass vs this, you will notice it right away.
You can as long as it doesn’t grow to 24 inches long. Just be careful when buying a “shark.” Sometimes they can get very big such as bala shark. Anything 12 inches or slightly bigger will have no issue in this tank

this is The absolute worse tank and stand set up. The stand is cheap made with very very low quality particle board or plywood and if it gets WET its over. It will warp and your tank will shift to try and compensate only to bust the seals an leak. plz upgrade the stand cmon

It has swim bladder problem. Been like that for a year now. We tried everything. I don’t expect it to live long, but I keep it as long as it still eating and active. If I see it starting to deteriorate, I will euthanize it.

Oh I can think of is the sunlight in the algae in that room. Didn't surprise me it was 5 months. But it's beautiful.

I have fluval fx 6 filter. It is a beast. Use a wave maker to help push the poop to the filter and you are good to go. No need to clean poop
