Goku, Krillin, Tien and the others were all rising stars of their generations that surpassed Roshi by that point. Sure, Roshi made a base of operations for them but it didn't last long as Kami's Lookout became their base. After Evil Piccolo saga, Roshi stop fighting on the frontlines.

Rising Fist So....where are Goku and Vegeta’s kids at after Old Man Goku’s last day in life ? I know by now they’re probably not super elderly but at the very least young adults, although Gohan and Videl might be somewhere in his 50-60’s, and they no doubt must be devastated now that Goku and Bulma died of old age.

Im actually writing my own story. I would really love it if you could display it in your channel. But unfortunately i only have the first 2 pages done. Although all of it is just writing. I really like how you create ur stories and voice other peoples stories. (Even if other actors are involved). It would really be a dream come to true if you would read my fan manga.

My theory is that when master roshi felt like his duty was done and felt it was time to move on, his immortality stopped taking effect. Maybe the people that get that immortality can inadvertently chose to die when they reach a certain age

It’s was mentioned in the early part of DB or DBZ that Roshi drank from the fountain of immortality. He said just cause he couldn’t age doesn’t mean he can’t be killed in battle

Honestly, it'll be better to just end the series then keep going forever quality will start to decline, take example of family guy, the Simpsons, they used to be funny, original but after running for like 30 years it just isn't as good or as fun anymore. It's best to end a show at a good note.
As sad as it is, I'm glad he went out with a smile and having fun one last time, I'm sure it was depressing seeing everyone he once knew, trained, and live with just....gone. But rather IMMORTALITY medicine. it's established during the first moment when Umigame berated Master Roshi for wanting to see Bulma's panties at their first meeting. The old hermit will never die due to old age or sickness, and will live on to nurture younglings to better future. Rather than pass on, let's just say the hermit is going travelling somewhere. EDIT: Sorry correction, not during Bulma's scene, but during Chichi and Goku came to borrow the big fan to put out fire on the Ox Demon King's mountain house. Our perverted master privately asked Goku that in return for lending the fan, he wished to.. "puffypuffy" Bulma. After Umigake berated him for that, Master Roshi said it is for his present before going to after life. Umigame corrected him that he has had taken the immortality medicine, which to that Master Roshi awkwardly dodged the question.
After everything he went through, i'm under the impression that the only thing that can possibly off Roshi forever is severe blood loss from his nosebleeds when he does his usual pervy deeds. If he dies in battle they can bring him back with the Dragon Balls no problem. Cool fanfic though, i subbed.

My theory is that when master roshi felt like his duty was done and felt it was time to move on, his immortality stopped taking effect. Maybe the people that get that immortality can inadvertently chose to die when they reach a certain age
This really made me cry😔☹😭....his one of my favorite characters in dragon ball....I cant believed he outlived the rest....its an honor to call him master

It’s was mentioned in the early part of DB or DBZ that Roshi drank from the fountain of immortality. He said just cause he couldn’t age doesn’t mean he can’t be killed in battle
Tbh i just see this as his body not being able to take him living this much.
zombie hunter z • 20 years ago I see what you’re saying, but he drank that water from the fountain youth (I think that’s what it was called), and that water made it so that he could live as long as he wanted, but he just wouldn’t be able to fight forever, and he can still be killed by an outside force (for example, he can be killed in fight or something)

I'm sure when Toriyama gets ready to retire for good he'll have plenty of great disciples who can continue the Dragonball story for generations.
Honestly, it'll be better to just end the series then keep going forever quality will start to decline, take example of family guy, the Simpsons, they used to be funny, original but after running for like 30 years it just isn't as good or as fun anymore. It's best to end a show at a good note.

The ending was pretty spot on... It's not his era anymore, even though this isn't cannon (not that I care what's cannon and what's not), may he have forever eternal happiness in other world with the family he lived with 💜✊

I can't remember the Manga, but in the anime, Turtle explained that Roshi drank from the Fountain of Youth.

I feel Master Roshi was the most important person Goku met in his life. Those who didn't watch original DB can't possibly relate to it because Roshi didn't have much of work there. This made me cry ngl, the voices acting was good too. Now here I am crying but somewhat satisfied for The Greatest Martial Artist Ever Born, The very own Master Roshi.

Master Roshi is easily one of the most important characters in the entire series like if Goku and Krillin didn’t learn the Kamehameha they won’t teach the others how to do it which would lead them to learning another move

One thing is correct: Master Roshi has never taken any elixir of long life. But rather IMMORTALITY medicine. it's established during the first moment when Umigame berated Master Roshi for wanting to see Bulma's panties at their first meeting.
The old hermit will never die due to old age or sickness, and will live on to nurture younglings to better future. Rather than pass on, let's just say the hermit is going travelling somewhere.
EDIT: Sorry correction, not during Bulma's scene, but during Chichi and Goku came to borrow the big fan to put out fire on the Ox Demon King's mountain house. Our perverted master privately asked Goku that in return for lending the fan, he wished to.. "puffypuffy" Bulma. After Umigake berated him for that, Master Roshi said it is for his present before going to after life. Umigame corrected him that he has had taken the immortality medicine, which to that Master Roshi awkwardly dodged the question.
