Bill Wennington is a good guy. He didn't play alot during the championship years in the playoffs but the few times he was in the game he can play. Had a very good midrange shot
Bill lives in the area where I live and I bumped into him a few years ago in a bank. That was GS winning 73 games year. I didn't recognize him at first because he is bald. but then I heard the teller say "hi bill", then I realized this huge guy in front of me was Wennington. I started a small conversation, he said he still kept up with Scottie and Longley. I told him I have been a fan and I think 96 bulls would beat GS, he agreed and let me take a pic with him. Very nice guy. I miss those days watch Bulls.
I could swear that I read somewhere The Bulls training staff wouldn’t let Michael Jordan and Bill Wennington lift weights together, because Jordan was so competitive that the training staff was afraid Jordan would try to out lift Wennington and I guess Wennington was just a beast in the weight room!
DeAndre Alexander Check out my most recent interview with MJ’s Wizards teammate Etan Thomas! Thomas told lots of never-before-heard stories from his time with MJ! 😳🐐
I loved how Bulls coaches rotated Luc and Bill, especially in those playoffs. They were always used to their strengths against different teams. Man there is almost no structure in the league anymore. Spurs are the last of a dying breed too
When MJ burned the Knicks for 53 in the Garden, the winning basket was an assist from MJ to Wennington on a faked shot and a pass to him for the dunk. Afterwards, BW said "it's the night that Michael Jordan and I combined for 55 points."
just shows his trust despite feeling hot all night long and seemingly unstoppable, mj still recognized what is the appropriate olay and he saw bill free cause patrick went for mj for additoonal defense. very smart man on the court
I heard that he practiced so hard on his mid range, all for just that one or two moments when you passed the ball to him, and he will make them, that’s professionalism.
@Dashing_Davey Jordan had Scottie.. Scottie almost took the bulls to the finals by himself. That indicates weak era, Clyde drexler is a slightly better Derozan and he made the finals on a ok team. Barkley and his suns are like the equivalent of Davis when he was on the pels.. Gp/Kemp is like lob city clippers. All those teams in the present couldn't go all the way to finals because there were better team's, but I the 90s they are finalists. Modern ball is better and this co ing from a 31 year old..
Where are all the people saying his teammates hated him? And the ones that mattered, the ones who had the tough skin, had chemistry, humility had respect for each other and the tough love MJ had to give, got it.
Absolutely in my opinion, the most important question of this interview, with this legend . "Who is that behind you,?"...... cuz honestly guys I was wondering the whole interview what the heck is that thing behind him...and it better not move ... ha ha ha
He had such an precise and refined hand eye coordination that no one can mimick. Also, he has such an acute sense of spatial awareness and the ability to visualize where the ball would go after it left his hand. He understood exactly how much pressure and technique to apply to the ball to get a point wherever he was at any point in the court. It was fascinating to watch his speed, strength, finesse, coordination and his technique are like no other. He cracked the code on how to play basketball. Easily the 2nd best basketball Player of all time after Lebron James
He would be a great guy to grab a beer or two with. I always respected his playing time with the Bulls. He seemed to have a knack for spacing and getting that beautiful jumper off.
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. Male. Even though they beat my Sonics team in 1995-96, there were a lot of solid support players on that Bulls team, that I was glad to see win rings: Bill Wennington (Beef Wellington, said in all humor), Steve Kerr (Stevekerr!), Jud Buechler, Randy Brown, Luc Longley (solid), Dickey Simpkins and Jason Caffey.
Still love this guy. He always had that lovableness and all-around-nice-guy that you'd want to have a drink with. Only Bulls center at that era who had a commercial with "Beef Wennington". It sucks that I can't find the video on youTube or the web.
Would someone PLEASE ask Bill to release his home video footage of his time with the Bulls?!?!?! He always had a camera in his hands! There's gotta be interesting material on there!
This is guy you wanted off your bench. The man could do it all. Nice shot, had some good moves to the rim, could post up, could block shots, and moved really well for a 7 footer and could really sky well into his career. You need 5-10 good minutes per game, the Bulls had so many horses that could get in the game. You could have probably played Bill at the 3, 4 or 5 spot.
Bill Wennington is a good guy. He didn't play alot during the championship years in the playoffs but the few times he was in the game he can play. Had a very good midrange shot
He was the back up center. He played his fair share of minutes.
@@jerry85g7 yes he did
Didn't Luke Longley start? Go UNM Lobos.
He shoot that breaking point in biggest difference in finals.
And he wrote nice book about Bulls.
Bill was one of the best roll players in the NBA thanks Bill for your contribution to the game
role...or roll, like roll with the team. Yada yada yada. No shade, just saying!!!
Dinner rolls are the best.
He was very underrated. He was a great role player
not underrated... he was who he was
@gentleman boring.
Players 4-15 won life’s lottery to be anywhere near Jordan’s Bulls. Never pissed a drop anywhere else.
He was a very good shooter.
I even got to meet Bill Wennington at a Bulls tour I was able to go to

Mate, does he live in the Chicago area? Just curious! Thanks.
Cool dude.
Yeah everyone says he's super nice. He'd be a great podcast host.
@Hector Rodriguez Agreed. They were unbelievable. Probably could have won 75 but they had a few games they just took off.
@@TlanImass yes, about 35 miles North of Chicago

It wasn't just Wennington. Grant and Purdue were mentioned as well.
Bill seems like a good hearted guy. Though he didn't get much playing time he was a good role player
@PARK GTFOH before someone gets you banned for harassment.
Bill and those baseline jumpers were automatic
💯
trueskool1977 I swear
Mj always had a guy for that thats crazy even though horace was more than bill that was his shot the 1st 3 chips
LMAO i can actually picture it
Wett-ington!
Love bill winiington man and that mid range jumper!
He’s a nice guy.. interviewed him once
@gentleman 2k 11 beats it IMO just cuz MJ was in it
@gentleman No1 wants to watch you play a 10 yr old game
jesus cage gentleman has a feet fetish

@So Cool1 no1 believes him
After leaving the bulls he became Santa...
Lmao u stupid for that one
Jeanmi Ess tf
😂😂😭😭
😂😂😂
🥶
MJ makes everyone better in that team. There is no weak link in that team.
He makes them better by making them winners
While leDiva trade everyone on his team that won’t help him get his chips 🤣🤣🤣
Their mentality became better with his leadership
@cloud 9 "No weak links??? Dude. Shut up." - Name ONE, besides Jerry Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf.
@PARK stfu
As a 90's Bulls fan, it's good to see Bill again and too know he's healthy 💯

Classic

Great quote. BW always struck me as perhaps the most likeable guy on the team.
Love that Bill’s wearing a Bulls sweatshirt.
YK 15 polo not sweatshirt
@Korvus I didn't know that I'm sure he didn't either... Thanks for the info tho
Korvus 😂😂😂😂😂
Sweatshit, like what 🤔🤔🤔
Great teammate. Much respect.
We have heard from Bill Wennington. We have heard from Steve Kerr. Now we just need a Jud Buechler interview for the trifecta!
Remember Brad Sellers? That guy barely did anything
where's dickey simpkins?
Samantha Nickson Larry Kristoviak???
Luc Longely especially knowing Mike punched him too

I meet him at a gas station he signed a piece of paper for me nice guy we talked bout how Rodman was off the court
Jack Bratten yea and mj gave me an autograph on my basketball
That's awesome!
How was Rodman off court? probably a strange individual I read MJ never talked to Rodman when they weren't playing lol
He seems like a good dude.
I met him at a gas station as well and I sucked him off at the gloryhole. Good times, good times.
Longley, Wennington, Perdue, Cartwright... Bulls centers...
They’re all great elite all-NBA players according to LBJ groupies/MJ haters.
all scrubs
Dashing_Davey how about stop shitting on greatness and respect both careers?

Funny how that team was so famous all the guys even role players are still stars and you remember them well even 20+ years later.
Bill is a class act.
Never underestimate chemistry. What a great guy and great interview.
Bill did his job for sure !!
Bulls legend!
Perfection, Class, business 1st, everyone knew you had to bring your best. greatness
Bill was one of my favorite players on the bulls really good guy
Bill was a reliable player
Wennington spot up midrange jumper was $$$$
This guy gives off good vibes
MJ’s aura alone makes him the GOAT!

Big Bill.
He worked hard!

Bill looked 51 in 1990's, not surprised he looks to be in his 70's today.
Are you talking about cartwright? And who are you, gq man of the year?
@@SuperRosso1000 Wennington, Cartwright looked 47 as well.

Going head up with Jordan in practice made him get old fast.
He had some nice dunks!

I met Bill at a Bulls vs Nets game.. very nice guy
Great job Mr. Wennington.....looking Great!!!!
Bill had hops for a big man, I loved when his teammates dished and he dunked.
You are all about to be reminded 🤫
And the kids are about to know for the first time!

So sad how fast this team was broken up. I would have kept them together at all costs.
Combined 57 points with MJ in win over knicks
I remember Wellington’s shots those were crucial as was all baskets made by all the players
What an awesome guy
Automatic Bill Wennington. One of my all time sentimental favorites.
Love that statue behind Bill.
Bill! Man, he had that automatic 10-foot jumper. He could hit that shot anytime.
Bushler and Wennigton were the chemistry glue.
he does a good interview, he gives you a different perspective

Michael Jordan would've made every single one of today's NBA snowflake stars cry bruh
With Bill's sureshot 15 footer and the league's less physical play today... he'll thrive more for sure.
