Can you show a video how to connect a Shelly 1 to a gate remote? The standard gate remote we use in South Africa. Thank you 🙏

Hi, do you have a detailed video on the correct way to wire up the back up power supply, I have the IDS alarm and back up supply with 2 new batteries and it won't even last 4 hours, the alarm company says the back up is connected to the Beams only, so I don't understand how it's been wired.

Hi Ashton, did you manage to sort this out? I had a Sherlo Tronics 12V 6.4A backup battery connected and it does not last 2hours.

Hi, it was the battery that was faulty, the lead acid battery is not meant for the loadshedding we get, even a new lead acid battery that is completely drained will never work properly again, I switched over to lithium 7ah batteries, they cost a bit more but last much longer in terms of age.

@@ashtonchetty4408 Thanks for replying. Only 3 months ago I had a 12V backup gel battery installed, but it keeps dying after about 90min of loadshedding. The battery definately does not charge. Thought I was a faulty installation.

@@Zee-z7m I did have a problem with the sherlo back up unit, the power supply was charging at a low voltage so it did not charge the battery enough, if you open it up you will see on the power supply a small plastic adjustment screw use a star screw driver and turn it clockwise if I'm not mistaken it will increase the voltage, mine wasnt adjusting so I bought a power supply from China mall, costed like R150, works perfectly now (note) it should charge over 14v mine was charging at 13v.

@@ashtonchetty4408 thanks Ashton, this is really good advice. I'm no electrician, but I knew something is not right. No instructions of this kind with the installation pamphlet. 🙁
