basically it's a hand held tuner for your car. it comes preloaded with tunes the correspond with the type of fuel you use and the mods on your car. a feature I really like is it offers up to 6 live gauges. right now I have it set for boost,water temp, intake air temp, knock sum, and throttle position. I paid 500 for the stage 1 package which is the accessport and a high flow panel filter. I also have a windsheild suction cup mount so I can keep the gauges In the corner of my eye.

Quinta Alianza Official find a reputable shop that does custom tuning and get them to tune your car. If you haven't already purchased an accessport don't waste your money. Get an open-source tune using tephramod.

Kyler Anderson No, this is evo 10 specific. To tune a second gen eclipse you need to figure out which ecu you have. The 98 came with either an EPROM ecu which required a chip to be installed called ecmlink. Or it might have the "black box" ecu which is the same ecu used in the evo 8. This one can be tuned with evoscan and open ecu via a laptop. To be completely honest though "tuning and cranking up the boost" should be done by a professional. So I would recommend spending a lot of time at the dsmtuners forum and finding a reputable shop to help you out in you quest for more hp. Second gen eclipse can be an awesome car but the truth of the matter is a lot of them have been beat to hell and hacked up. So I would male sure that car is 100% good before doing anything else.
ThePhantomEvoX if I upgraded to a larger turbo on the eclipse and took it to a tuner with bigger injectors and fuel pump... Would they be able to tune the stock ecu to work with the new parts?

VERY GOOD. It really woke the car up. stock the car feel weak in the higher rpm's. after the accessport it pulls hard up top.

I would order the the cobb stage 1 kit. it comes with the accessport and the cobb high flow panel filter.
