You guys should talk about the most common submerged animatronics, like the alligators at Rainforest Cafe. Those scare me because I always forget about them until I'm right next to them
Honestly even just more restaurant animatronics from the themed restaurant boom in the... what, 90s? Lots to talk about in the rainforest cafe, especially how the few that remains have aged!
As a person completely unbothered by submechanophobia, these videos still fascinate me! Then again I have an irrational fear of balloons, so there's that.
I think character design is a HUGE part of what makes SOME of these scary for me. Movie props normally don't scare me that much as long as they aren't gigantic. The mine cart dragon and the Sword Dragon were cute. None of the movie props or that pirates ride really scared me, much less Davey Jones... But then we got to the Kraken and I felt pretty scared, despite it not being underwater. I think the REASON it scares me is because it looks... "wrong". With most of these animatronics, we can easily tell what is meant to look cartoony and what's meant to look realistic. The Krakren has a cartoony structure, but eerily realistic texturing and coloring, along with the glossy light details on it's "skin". it looks... wrong. Like its something else wearing the skin of an Octopus. The Gigantic eyes that look straight instead of how an actual Octopus' eyes would work ALSO work to make this thing look unnerving to me. Its... not how an octopus looks. it almost looks "human" in a way, but not QUITE. I don't know how to articulate it, the best way I can describe it is: It looks like something that SHOULDN'T exist. That SHOULDN'T be possible. But bringing it to life as an Animatronic kinda makes my brain go HAYWIRE because that's as close to real as it'll ever get. If it were ANY MORE articulated and lifelike, I think this thing would actually give me NIGHTMARES. That's the SAME REASON I absolutely HATE the Angler Fish from the Finding Nemo ride and why I always felt uneasy with the Sea Serpent from 2000 leagues under the sea. They are BUILT to be cartoony, but their painting and texturing make them look eerily realistic and believable, which make up the same effect. Granted, nowadays I have a way bigger appreciation for the Sea Serpents, but my point still stands that the combination of cartoony features with semi-realistic paintjobs are what I believe TRULY terrify me in some of these.
if the Submechanophobia videos have 100k fans. i’m one of them. if the Submechanophobia videos have 100 fans. i’m one of them. if the Submechanophobia videos have 10 fans. i’m one of them. if the Submechanophobia videos have 1 fan. it’s me. if the Submechanophobia videos have no fans. i’m dead.
More like “If the Submechanophobia videos has 100K it’s me too If the Submechanophobia has 102 fans it’s me and you if Submechanophobia videos have 12 it me and you and if it’s 2 it’s me and you but if it’s 0 Then we are dead” (Btw I used me and you as like people who like watching Submechanophobia videos)
I’m glad you mentioned Davy Jones from Pirates Voyage. I saw the show in Myrtle Beach on two different vacations. The first time I was far away from the animatronic, and I wasn’t bothered by him. The second time I had a clear view of where he was hiding under the water. That sent chills down my spine, knowing he was right there waiting to activate. To make matters worse, they had painted him this time around with neon colors that glowed under black light. It made him look ridiculous rather than scary when he was above water, but it also made him impossible for me to ignore even submerged. My eyes kept darting to the brightly colored massive monstrosity lurking under the surface. This was my first definitive submechanophobia moment.
I love seeing these! I especially liked learning about the Davy Jones animatronic in Tennessee! There's a similar show in Knotts berry farms(California) where a sea serpent attacks the ship! It was gone for quite awhile, but they recently brought it back! I'd check it out! Love the video btw! ❤🦆
I'm not sure this fits with submechanophobia, but there was a Little House On The Prairie episode called the Lake Kezia Monster that scared the crap out of me when I was little (okay it still kinda does) The part where the kids dress up as a sea monster and emerge out of the water is terrifying. Might be worth a shout out in your videos!!
I don't know if anyone else really cares about this aspect, but I've been wanting to say for a while how good of a narrator Will is. Like every time I hear his voice in these videos, it brings a smile to my face.
In Myrtle Beach (hopefully I spelled thaf right) I went to the Pirate's Voyage show, and luckily we were invited to play a minigame of some sort where someone older than you or my parents in that situation would have to pull us in a boat across the huge water tank or whatever, while i was being pulled i saw him submerged in the tank underwater, I still got horrible chills to this very day, just imagine seeing a huge animatronic in the water you are currently in!
One of the only times an animatronic actually scared me was the Pirate Voyage Dave Jones in Myrtle Beach, I was eventually changed to look more child friendly but the one before was terrifying
Hi Walt. Ya did awesome in the intro. Ya know I forgot to mention that submechanophobia inspired me to do a video of them with Earthbound/mother 2 music.
i think that dragon at 11:05 is just an incense burner. i have it and looked it up to double check, it's the exact same pose and everything!! if you look up "multi headed dragon incense burner" it should come up it's rare i come across things i own in vids, neat!!
10:15 I wish you could hear the intense gasp as the coldest chill shot down my spine when the shark comes into view in this footage. As much as I love sharks, I haven't been this terrified of seeing a fake one underwater since the behind-the-scenes footage of Jaws 3 when they're training the dolphins to get used to being in a tank with the animatronic shark.
I never thought I'd see my home park in a submechanophobia list, I just rode the Bugs Bunny log flume last night! Thankfully, the water that sprays out of the dragon was turned off 🙏 but usually that thing sprays you like 3 times 😭
I went on the Pirate Adventure ride at Drayton Manor when I was in school, and I think it was where my fear and fascination with underwater animatronics started.
Ive been in pirates voyage at Myrtle Beach, they also have a davy jones, so ive seen this animatronic in both the christmas show and the normal one, its really cool! I think they use a version thats sitting in a chair or something, and his head still moves? Im not sure, but I definitely remember seeing him and not the statue.
Great video, but As a texas resident who has submechaniphobia, idk how my boy at six flags got to #2 let alone on this list over some others here, hes adorable and no joke your best friend on a hot day here, that and the rapids are part of the normal park not waterpark portion so ya burn up fast and they can be a saving grace from a long line.
I never comment ever but I'm actually early for once so!! THESE VIDEOS ARE SO COOL i always learn about at least one new animatronic everytime I've loved animatronics since the first time i saw one used for practical effects in a movie they're so swag
Ah yes, the "Gill-Head" creature from Leviathan movie. The movie wasn't that spectacular, but it did have one of the coolest looking sea monsters!! Stan Winston was a SFX Guru, absolute genius when it comes to animatronics!!!
I left a comment on the last submechanaphobia compilation about the Deinisuchus animatronics at IMG World's in Dubai. They're really realistic and scary!
I would never go dive in the Loch Low-Minn resort, not because of the statues, which look amazing in my opinion, but because I don't want, AT ALL, to dive in lakes. Sea is the best for me
I still think Die Krake in Heide Park Soltau is terrifying. One of the two coasters I haven't ridden yet in the park. And the other one is the kiddy coaster in their Luckyland xD
A good entry thats very minor but would still be a good choice would be the statues at Tropipcal Gardens mini golf in my hometown of Asheville NC. They have several fiberglass statutes that are submerged in murkey water and one section that has a floating safari hat implying someone drowned, and as a bonus also has crocodiles that look like they are submerged in the dirt and grass almost like its swimming through tne grass. I will gladly write a script and send pictures of this if you still have my email.
One day ONE DAY y'all will feature “Dangerous Dan” the dinosaur from the Lagoon from THe Santa Cruz Beach boadwalk in the 90's- early 00's. He was outside the Dino Train an was just a hinged long neck that popped up ever so often. THe thing was because he was in the lower part of the boardwalk you could totally see him in the pond/lagoon from above.
I think I watch this and similar channels too much, I had a dream about the old Jurrasic Park ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. I was trying to save the animatronic dinosaurs from the water XD
Can you do the star city statue elaphants and giraffe I went to star city not to long ago they way the log flume gets so close to the elaphants you expect something to happen its just scary
🦆🦆🦆🦆Ducks for life. End Screen Squad.❤🦆🦆🪿🦆 love all of your different animatronic vids. Would love to see some behind the scenes for some animatronics in how they build or repair them.
Submechanophobia never gets old.
True.......yes......two words...... not.....old......
If I look at it I am fine, but if you told me to swim next to it, that is when my submechanophobia kicks in.
Mine kicks in whenever I look at the water and imagine falling in it
@@duckafarts if I so much as imagine swimming near it, or being in the same water gives me the chills.
Right!

They already covered the rainforest cafe gators tho?
I would watch an ENTIRE VIDEO just about the Rainforest Cafe animatronics!
@@Scrofarsame!
I was just at the Rainforest Cafe the other day! Our alligator is still there though his movements aren’t what they used to be. 🤪
“With divers swimming near it”
The very next sentence
“We don’t think anyone would dare swim alongside it”
I'm actually shocked that no one's made a submechanophobia horror movie yet
As a person completely unbothered by submechanophobia, these videos still fascinate me!

I have submechanophobia myself, but these animatronics are hypnotizing to watch!! I love how much research you make to give us amazing videos ❤

The multi-headed dragon at the Loch Low diving resort is a small incense burner…. Seriously lol I own one..
That MayberryLake monster image is gonna give me nightmares
Plesiosaurs aren’t dinosaurs, they’re reptiles that lived during the same time. 😔
While these videos scare me, I love watching them! Great Video guys!!
End screen squad, nice video guys!
Oh wow, I'm early for once.. I very much have submechanophobia, yet these are the videos I watch the most on this channel

I love submechanophobia its such a niche but well known phobia and im glad theres a channel that likes it too ❤
That dino splash water looks foul.

I remember seeing pirates voyage in Myrtle and thinking about how the divers in the show probably see it under there while they’re under😬😱
Same!
One of the only times an animatronic actually scared me was the Pirate Voyage Dave Jones in Myrtle Beach, I was eventually changed to look more child friendly but the one before was terrifying
dont know who this speaking duck is, but its the most scary thing i have seen in a long while.
The great white shark sculpture in the lake would scare the hell out of me and I'd never come back
Hi Walt. Ya did awesome in the intro. Ya know I forgot to mention that submechanophobia inspired me to do a video of them with Earthbound/mother 2 music.

yay another submechanophobia video! thx for the great narration

I love fear based videos. I don’t know why but “spine chilling” is my comfort. Ironic since I’m not a big horror movie enthusiast
I think the lil snake is really cute^^ same with the lake monster:D
I went on the Pirate Adventure ride at Drayton Manor when I was in school, and I think it was where my fear and fascination with underwater animatronics started.
8:25 Unless you mean the original POTC from the late 50's, the first film wasn't released until 2003, about a decade after those parks opened.
Ive been in pirates voyage at Myrtle Beach, they also have a davy jones, so ive seen this animatronic in both the christmas show and the normal one, its really cool!

Video idea: herpetophobia animatronics
Herpetophobia aka
: alligator phobia

I remember when the duck animatronic was still in production and didn’t even have color!
Hey shoutout to six flags fiesta Texas, my favorite amusement park in San Antonio 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Im from Denmark and im going to djurs sommerland tommorow 🙂
Didn't expect to hear Pigeon Forge in one of these videos.
Subscribed,!!

It would be awesome for a video about your favorite Animatronics from the pirates of the Caribbean ride
I’d like to give Walt a lot of hugs! ❤
I want to know more about whatever that green human faced thing was when you were talking about the pirate ride
I left a comment on the last submechanaphobia compilation about the Deinisuchus animatronics at IMG World's in Dubai. They're really realistic and scary!
I Remember “Leviathan”! This makes me want to watch it again
The snake of midgrad looks like me when its monday
I love these videos, their just so interesting ❤
I love the moment where it almost seems like will forgot the last name of Antonio so there’s like a 3-4 second pause lmao
Also hi walt❤🦆
Nice dragon costume you have on Walt.
I have actually been to the davy jones show and I think it was the skeleton animatronic.. but man the food and show absolutely amazing.
There's also a Pirates Votage in Myrtle Beach, SC which I go to every year
I would never go dive in the Loch Low-Minn resort, not because of the statues, which look amazing in my opinion, but because I don't want, AT ALL, to dive in lakes. Sea is the best for me
The only two from this list I can see myself getting a little scared of is the floating shark and the kraken one but only at nighttime.
midgard animatronic did not work when i was there
(could be becouse of kfriday)
You guys are so good to us...good at scaring us, that is!😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
NOT THE BLACK FACE AT 8:18
It is 12 am and I'm gonna watch this if I get a nightmare about this stuff related when I go to bet its a great vider
That dragon hood is so cute ❤❤❤
_Yor's world, he's the man_
God damn it, now I'm gonna have to track down the Spoony video again.
I still think Die Krake in Heide Park Soltau is terrifying.
