  • One of Nettie Kaye's best videos this year! In this, "real time," episode, learn how to paint a rich still life with a copper colander, teal canning jar, pottery, and luscious red apples.
Nettie Kaye makes the painting flow by placing objects in varying sizes, shapes, and beautiful colors in a way that is interesting to the eye.

We need to see the still life set-up EXACTLY as the painter sees it !
Take a photo of the set-up and insert it in the bottom left corner.
This way we can understand WHY the artists is making her choices.
This omission is a common one in painting/drawing videos.
Also, with such a bright table surface, would the shadows cast onto it by the colander, Indian pot and apples be so dark?
I love the treatment of the water/jar. It is a mystery to me how Ms. Kaye knew what colors to mix and use to make it look so appealing and original and NOT exactly as it looks to the eye.
