Hey! Would you say a bootcamp like coursecareers is necessary to break into a tech sales role? I’m in consulting now and have a college degree.
@@Ronaldinho1996 It can be done without a tech bootcamp. Kids straight outta college jump straight into tech sales all the time. I chose the bootcamp route because It had everything I needed to learn in one little package and the CourseCareers community is huge. The network alone is worth the 500 bucks.
This couldnt have come at a better time. Where I'm currently at is very similar to where he was earlier in his career. I took the leap into tech early this year with a software developer bootcamp (fortunately my job paid for) and quickly realized that with all the layoffs + the rise of AI, my chances of breaking into that field were slim to none. I have classmates who still are looking for jobs 8 months later. I ultimately decided on switching to tech sales and just got an offer ($90k OTE). Hearing stories like this only get me that much more amped for where I'm headed!

What might have been a substantial income in 2005 could be different when adjusted for the changes in the cost of living and salary standards. It's interesting to see how economic landscapes evolve over time.
While we are in the industry I believe we still as African Americans only represent still under 10 percent. The numbers are staggering and we must get it up as a collective
