  • The Yankee Hill Machine Resonator K is a suppressor I know many enthusiast have been waiting on! Whether you are wanting a short 30cal for range day work or just want the shortest OAL length suppressor for hunting YHM has you covered!
    They first introduced the 556 Turbo K to the market which we believe is one of the best K cans available. Listening to their customers, who are always seeking options when it comes to size, YHM has now released what is sure to be a suppressor that will not sit on the shelves for long!
    The Resonator K is a tubeless design made from 17-4 SS, with a 718 Inconel blast baffle. It is full auto rated and designed to handle all you can throw at it!
    The muzzle side of the tube is threaded 1 3/8x24 to allow the end user a larger selection of mounting options such as the Dead Air Keymo, Silencerco ASR, Q Plan B, Griffin Armament Plan A, Torrent QD, Hansohn Brothers Ti direct thread & Rex Silentium qd 6 lug.

    Just found yall and WOW! Quick to the point with all the data weights, length, accurate sound measurements at ear and muzzle, and good selection of hosts. I also like the video production and lack of loud stupid music. The only improvement I could want is a data summary slide at the beginning or end for quick ref.

    I’m really really impressed with the numbers being put down here. YHM hadn’t been on my radar before, it certainly is now. Though the higher Db rating by the ear is indicative of high back pressure and the port pop when the action cycles.
    .
    If you haven’t already, you should do some testing on the Superlative Arms blow off adjustable gas block. I’ve seen testing showing that it lowers that port pop significantly by reducing back pressure by venting it. And is still quieter than a normal restrictive adjustable gas block.
    Great channel guys, I think I’m gonna spend a good part of my Sunday here 😆

    • @SuppressedNation
      @SuppressedNation  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching. We actually did some testing with adjustable gas blocks and got comments that we were cheating the test. Even though we tested on standard uppers and then with adjustable. Companies and people wanted to see the can by itself. The Hopaii video I believe we left the testing with adjustable gas blocks in it. But we did a meter day and had one gun set at one setting and every can we ran that day metered 135-136 at the ear. That's why I normally don't care about at ear readings being advertised as much as I know I can tune it to my gun and get way quieter. I wish RifleSpeed would have been around when we were testing. Their design makes adjusting the fastest on the market!

      You are running a gas system that only allows so much gas to come back thru the system. Same thing when you add the adjustable gas block you can tune the gun to restrict air and have all the cans shoot the same at the ear

I've been able to play with it at my dealer's range now a few times and it sounds fantastic. I already have a Sandman K so not sure I'd bite on a Resonator K. The R9 however has my interest. Lots of factors involved. Main one time, trying to get three of us on the same schedule at a range that’s not packed is hard right now. Also the availability of ammo and cost is just to much at the moment. Everything we do is out of pocket and with everything skyrocketing price wise in every day life it’s hard to justify. Hopefully we see some stability in the country and prices more shooter friendly. Then this spring we can get back to it.

    • @SuppressedNation

      chenlmax we have but their are so many calibers and barrel lengths we would never be able to cover them. Plus the ammo used for hunting to do all the videos with each suppressor we just can’t justify the cost. Just one suppressor that’s modular with 4 calibers takes a while to edit then adding separate mounts, endcaps, multiple ammo and barrel lengths the videos would take forever to edit and be super long. We may do a night time video to show flash on one caliber like 556 with a bunch of cans we have on hand.

      The demand right now is so high they don’t even hit the shelf before they are sold. Plus Yhm was forced to shut down because of the virus which only made production fall even further behind demand. So far the S&B has been great. We put up a survey on Instagram and FB on what ammo was used to plunk with and the response was overwhelmingly S&B. I know your location with elevation, humidity and temperatures play a role. We have had some top tier ammo that either went trans or super sonic here in VA out of my 10.5 noveske barrel. So we dropped it to an 8”Rosco barrel to see if that will keep most of it subsonic. So how you use it comes in to play. Hunting long and heavy I like to avoid. But bench shooting it really doesn’t matter as much. Ar15s are loud at the ear no matter what. 300bo is not as bad as 556 and you can tune both with an adjustable gas block . That allows you to achieve the best performance and sound. Changing mounts may effect the dB reading a little but not enough for our ears to pick it up from my experience

      @@SuppressedNation I haven't done any hunting, so that's probably not going to be an issue. Sounds reduction in more important than weight, but price is probably more important than either.
      So, 1.75" is fine. Heavy is not a big issue, it will be on a bench or just plinking and when I get tired I'll switch weapons or fire offhand.
      So, part 2... Good option for adjustable has blocks? My 2 AR pistols are both PSA (14" 556 and 10.5" 300) and so it's my AK rifle. The 300 win mag is a bolt gun, a TC compass.

    • @SuppressedNation
      @SuppressedNation  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brian Wood if price is a main concern hands down go with the yhm res2. You may get a little more sound reduction from a larger 1.75 can but at what cost? It will only be a slight difference most will not be able to tell the difference.

    On the AR (DI gas) platform, what does it mean if a suppressor meters decently higher at the ear vs muzzle? Does it equate to higher back pressure levels?

    • @SuppressedNation
      @SuppressedNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jimmer John you are exactly right. You can fix that with an adjustable gas block. Watch our hopaii video. You can see how you can cut those ear numbers. I personally don’t mind back pressure as I will just adjust the gas block and get quieter on the muzzle and ear. The high flow cans my experience on ar15 you get no back pressure but they are loud at the ear and muzzle.

      @ahart9785 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Suppressed Nation yeah totally underrated with that, and that’s why I decided to go with the Resonator K. Guess I’m just wondering if the Turbo is that much quieter on short barrel 5.56 than the Reso to outweigh the multi caliber benefits. What’s your take on that if I plan to primarily shoot it on SBR 5.56?

      A Hart if I am going for a dedicated 556 sbr I’m going turbo k.(which is what I did) You get a quieter can with a turbo which is one baffle longer than the turbo k. The res k is noticeably louder than the turbo k on 556

      Since I had a Sandman K here I shot that as well. So heres what i did and my thoughts. I added the keymo to the Res K and size wise it stacks up longest to shortest -Sandman S, Res K and then sandman K. With my 8" Noveske and speer tnt 110s ( I believe) sound wise to my ears they sound best in the same order as size. That said none of them were comfortable to my ears. Also honestly the sound to my ears they are not to far apart. I do not wear ears when I hunt so I would run any of them to hunt with to take that edge off. Running the Res K with Hansohn's direct thread will make it the lighter and shortest by about 1/2" over the Sandman K. Hope this helps.-Chris

      @jameskrieger3852 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, it does seem like a coin flip. With the sale the Rex is the same price as the Resonator and a 9 baffle build is approximately the same size/weight. The lack of sound review on the Rex is the only thing giving me pause.

      James Krieger I’ve had the Fidelis and base here. The fidelis ranked I believe either 1st or 2nd in most calibers for sound. The base with subs sounded better than the fidelis but with supers had a higher tone pitch. Rex new can are said to be better then both but unfortunately I have not been able to shoot any of the new stuff. I know Hansohn had some but people bought everything he had at that time. grady719 thank you we love hearing that. There is a ton of calibers we would like to dive into. We do this as a hobby so everything we shoot is usually personally owned by my brother Joey, Chris Hansohn from Hansohn Brothers or myself. Plus ammo on some calibers will be a lot more expensive and all that comes out of our pockets. So the caliber has to be something we personally wanted or use for hunting. Pretty much why you don’t see big bore videos as here in Virginia it’s so wooded we can’t justify an expensive caliber to hunt with when the 308,6.5 or 6.8 will do the job. But as our personal caliber collections grow hopefully so will the video caliber ranges!!
