Thanks for making this. Just got the Haven bundle and your video saved me when setting it up for the first time. I appreciated the close up shots showing attachment points, etc. Great explanations and really cleared things up for me.
This the BEST setup for the Haven bundle, hands down! I just got mine and was a little confused by the whole buckle on the vestibule flap thing, but you explained it well. You have a new subscriber!
Hey there! I haven't used it as a glassing tarp, but it would sure work for that. Another one that would work well for that is the Sea to Summit Escapist tarp. Here's our review on that one (and there's a video here on the channel on it). backwoodspursuit.com/escapist-tarp-review-2020-light-versatile/ Thanks for watching!
Hey there and great question! I should have covered that in the video. With this tent, when setting it up with trekking poles, you put the handle end up and he pointed end of the trekking pole down. That way the pointed end fits into the grommet perfectly. Thanks for watching!
@@BackwoodsPursuit Ok? That is not how 6moon show it on their wed site? They show it with the pole handle on the ground but they don't give any explanation about attachment either?
@@hereweareproductions3662 my apologies...I was thinking their new Owyhee...that one the trekking pole is put with sharp end down into the grommet. On the Haven here, you just put the handle on the grommet. The grommet really just keeps a little tension on the floor, but isn't necessary for setup. Sorry for the confusion!
@@BackwoodsPursuit Thanks for reply. Looks like a nice system. Only other question is how well would a pack fit in the vestibules? They seem a bit small. I would typically use this solo, so the pack might be my sleep partner, but it'd be nice to know a pack could be sheltered in the vestibule.
Really great review, thank you! Have you found the tent to be durable and ok in rain? Also, I see you also reviewed the Lunar Duo...what are key differences, and which did you prefer? Thanks again!
Thanks for the feedback and great questions! Both the Lunar Duo and Haven Bundle are fantastic in the ran and very durable. I forget the hydrostatic head rating, but its very robust on both of them(much higher than something like the Nemo Hornet). Main differences are that the Lunar Duo is wider/larger, so a little better for two people. That said the Heaven is still perfectly fine for two regular sized pads(you can get two wide pads in the Lunar Duo comfortably). They are about the same weight, but the Haven Bundle is a double wall (when you use inner bug tent) whereas the Lunar Duo is a single wall without the option of a double wall. The Haven is more versatile (tarp, double wall, or just bug tent) and the Lunar Duo has one setup option. Both are AWESOME tents, just depends on what options are most important for you. Thanks for watching!
Excellent presentation. Thank you for your time and effort, you helped me in my decision. Kind regards from Peter (Victoria, Australia)
Thank you, Peter! Appreciate that and thanks for watching!
Great review, thanks!
Thanks Andrew!
Nice video. Good job 👏
Thanks Tim!
Best Video I've seen in years it was Awesome!!!!
Thanks Billy! Appreciate it and thanks for watching!
This very good tent.
Thanks! Yeah, that's a great tent!
@@BackwoodsPursuit Pleass welcome. Haw its in winter 🤔
@@edwardfrak6618 it's a double wall tent, so not too bad.

That's great and glad it was helpful! Enjoy the Haven!

Thanks Jeremy! I appreciate the feedback and thanks for subscribing! Let me know if you have any other questions on it. Happy to help!
Have you used this as a tarp for cover while glassing? Or recommend any others for both purposes? Thanks!

Nice job Gabe!
Thanks guys!
Good demo.
Thank you!
If you set it up with trekking poles, how do you attach the handle (the ground end) to the tent???
It obviously wont go through the grommet.

Thanks great set up video. I'd like to see what it's like for a 6 footer to lay in there. How's the head room?
Thanks! Its great for 6 foot person! I'm 5'11" and have a lot of extra length inside the tent. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@@theflyingdutchman4016 I didn't have any issues putting my 4800ci packing the vestibule. They are pretty decent sized I thought.
