    So I don’t know if it’s just me, but you have a calming voice sir. Thank ya for sharing

      Thanks, that’s nice of you to say.

      That's the exact same reason I subbed. Between the music and his voice I find the videos to be very calming but also educational. Keep up the great work man!

    I am planning to make a Warforged Barbarian who takes the Path of Wild Magic. Basically, they are experimental 'beta' of Warforged, powered with extra-planar magic, specifically powered by magical Feywild energy. Whenever they rage, the Feywild's unpredictable magic causes them to glitch out. (There is more to the character than that, but I just wanted to share that.)

      That’s a great idea, a glitching robot wildly swinging around is pretty frightening, and the random effects work well within the unpredictable character story.

      @@RichMerry Thank you! For some reason, I was limiting myself to glitching in the voice and perhaps logic, but the erratic movements as well seem way cooler. Thanks for helping me fine-tune the concept. (I hope that I get to play this character sometime.)
      Also, perhaps moss and bark would grow on the warforged's skin, leaning more into the Feywild magic aesthetic.

      Very nice concept! I have a similar idea, but more of a "Secret test subject/experiment gone horribly wrong (Or right?)" sort of vibe. Definitely giving me Krieg from Borderlands vibes haha

    I wish there was more options on the wild magic table. Perhaps a d20 or even a d100.

    • @RichMerry
      @RichMerry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That’s a great idea. The table is all positive effects, so it’s balanced differently to the wild magic sorcerer 1d100 table. But for a homebrew table that’s totally something I would love to see.

    I'm thinking of making one of these for sure. I was thinking of some sort of mad wizard's secret experiment, trying to harness the power of the feywild like some sorcerers are able to do, and using the barbarian as a sort of test subject that became essentially an unstable mish-mash of magical effects that seemingly failed/is too dangerous to continue. Maybe he's left for dead, then survives to carry on and try to live with and control this new unstable magic welling up inside. Little bit of spitballing.

    I've made a Kenku Wild Magic Barb. She's an alchemist who actually has very little intelligence to actually properly do alchemy, but basically lucked upon (or stole) some VERY potent ingredients to make what's essentially a Hulk-like serum. Taking it is how she enters her rage, but the unpredictable random stuff she throws into each batch causes the wild magic effects to happen. It's really fun to have justification for playing something so unconventional for a barbarian, playing this unassuming bumbly character who suddenly becomes a monster on the battlefield.

    As someone who played this before its official release it kinda sucks that there is no down sides because I think a barb in particular would not be able to control magic even less than a sorc but its still so much fun I think we home brewed a d20 table for more spice but overall one of if not my absolute favorite classes I've ever played

    Question, for the Wild Surge 8 ability, would this change remove the Heavy property from a greataxe or greatsword? Could you dual wield with a Great axe in one hand and a throwing axe in the other?

    • @RichMerry
      @RichMerry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While it would be cool for the Barbarian to have a great axe and throwing axe at the same time I don’t think that’s what written. You could always ask your DM if there OK with it.

      A bit late to the party, but; I've discussed this with my group. Even though it gains the light and thrown property, it still retains the Two-Handed property, arguably for weapon handling reasons.
      If they meant for this effect to use your weapon single-handedly, they would've mentioned it gained the Versatile property as well.
      Which, let's be honest, would be a fun homebrew, but it's not RAW.

      It would remove the two handed property, since light allows you to wield it in one hand

    Where is the art for the thumbnail from?

      I’ve changed that thumbnail a couple of times. I usually use D&D, pathfinder or magic the gathering art. This one is from twitter.com/MissReliah

    Im thinking of making, im thinking of making, im thinking of making....my DM rules no outside campaign setting books,(wanna play artificer? find an ebberon game, blood hunter? go find a Wildemount game) roll 6 sets 4d6 drop the lowest in each set. PCs are way too OP in 5e. Think strategically, work as a team...you are not a god, you are a level 1 adventurer.
