HeliDoctor- Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and to explain things in plain terms.

Hi - I hope you are still working with Ferrari's! Your clutch replacement was very interesting, as I used to work in a Ferrari garage many years ago, in the 1980's in the UK. There was a Ferrari 'set time' to replace a 308 clutch by the book.

Eduardo Bignami Hey, no worries! Watching a video is way easier than reading about how to do it ;-)

HeliDoctor - great video tutorial ! I've completed my clutch replacement ('82 Mondial 8) using this as a benchmark and having an issue with the clutch properly 'releasing' when the pedal is pressed. Seems as though I don't have enough 'travel' on the release arm or perhaps the post coming from the new slave isn't long enough to create the leverage ?? I've also replaced the master clutch cylinder in the front - so again, not sure which of the cylinders may be causing my issue here - perhaps you've had a similar experience ???

Hi Brian, check the throw on the clutch slave actuator at.the.bell.housing.I can't remember what it should be but I do have a video on it.right.here..I.am.assuming.that.the.clutch.is.a.standard.one.so.it.must.be.the.clutch.throw.that.is.out.and.slaves.are.weak.on.these.cars.but.cheap.to.fix..If.the.throw.is.not.enough.try.bleeding.the.clutch.first.this.will.probably.fix.it..Let.me.know.how.you.get.on..Sorry.about.all.of.the.fullstops.bloody.computer.space.bar.just.failed.on.me.....it.probably.needs.bleeding...;-)
      Regards.Doc

@@TheHeliDoctor - thanks, I'll have to check that both the master & slave are properly bled - it would appear from the throw out vide that I'm not where near the 20mm travel on the slave - but I'll confirm later today as I would assume if there's air in the system its just not going to create enough hydraulic pressure to push the actuator. I did replace both the master & slave in the restoration - perhaps didn't bench bleed them enough !

Are you sure you were suppose to put silicone on the flange?

dontilgon Hi dontilgon, yes I do use silicone sparingly and in both instances here it is required. You could make a gasket for the 'gear cascade' case but it is a bit unecessary, silicone works well here and is all that's really required.
      Regards Doc. :-)

Interesting because when I removed the flange there was zero silicone on the factory installed flange. Also no signs of leaking

+dontilgon Hi dontilgon, I do it just to be sure it doesn't leak but if you feel more comfortable not using any silicone then do what works best for you.
