The service manual states 4 channels of 19 watts rms per channel 20hz - 20 khz with less than 1% THD into 4 ohms (impressive stuff!) It says Bass is centered at 100hz and treble at 10khz, however there is no useful information on the D-Bass function frequency manipulation. My mother bought one and the rotary commander when they were new in 2001 (I was 13) and also a pair of 6.5" 3 way speakers for the parcel shelf of her tiny hatchback. I remember using D-Bass on level 1 or 2 (depending on the desired listening volume) and turning back the Bass function, as the D-Bass seemed to be centered around the 80 - 100hz area, and the Bass seemed to be centered around the 50hz area. By doing this, the headunit wouldnt clip quite as soon, and the speaker excursion was kept in check. That little setup impressed me and my dodgy high=school mates quite a lot! Some little piece of shit broke into her car one night and tried to steal the headunit, and all they got away with was the face (why would you even take it? fucking low life animals). I worked out that by putting a piece of tape over the button that presses in when the face is on, the CD player started up and played music, and because she had the rotary commander, we still had FULL control over the unit!! SO good. I'd love to buy one for the nostalgia.

Wow, the internal amp died (99% of the time its the laser that kills these HU's), good thing it has RCA outputs
