Great project. Most farm equipment designs come from farmers. One suggestion. That white shaft looks like it could use a center pillow bearing. I know shake is the name of the game. Anxious to see it all painted. Good luck on your medical.

Hey Legarms, cut the handles off of the 4 leveling jacks and weld nuts on the crank shafts. Then you can use a drill to raise and lower them much easier/ faster. You could weld a socket onto one of the handles so that it can still be done manually. Just a thought. Great work.

Hey Guys love watching you Fab. We have those Jack legs odour trailers in uk. We inserted a undersized piece off box inside. So slides out to create an extension. Sacred with a tractor pin. Less winding and you a longer leg for leveling. We also added the nut like other comments so can be lifted with a drill. Keep Fabbjng.

You guys are amazing; showing us how to just do It! Most importantly providing information relating to the positive qualities of people who say “just make it happen!”
RD Smith here from Big Sky Country - Great Falls, MT.
Watching the three Welkers construct and repair in your shop is priceless. I’ve watched your series of videos over and over again just to pick up tips!
Yep, you’ve motivated an 80 year old to break out the Miller welder and plasm cutter and start just “doing it.”
I have a Deere 1025R. To make the small Cat One tractor more suitable for my needs, here outside of Great Falls, I started building, in my garage, attachments from tool, fuel, and spray trailers to trailer ramps, and restoring my 18 foot vehicle trailer. Yep, you three are motivators.
Now, only if you could get the price reduced on steel, red dye diesel and gasoline, my remaining years would be perfect. My wife of 58 years would greatly appreciate that too; keeping me occupied in the garage instead of hanging out in the kitchen!
Many thanks to you and family!
    God Bless
    David

Nothing is better than a Bosch pump. Unless you have exsperienced it, when you build something so custom and specific to your operations and needs, when it finally works and does what you wanted it to, theres very few feelings in the world like it after family. You finally get to stand back and watch your creation/ equiptment work and realize that the hands and minds of those involved are what built it. When I was a kid I would look at my grandpa's hands and think about all the things he had done, built, modified with his hands and every scar and broken and crooked finger told a piece of the story of each thing he did. It's amazing what we can accomplish when we want to.

How about using some piece of soft wood under those jacks? One of things I do in my work is to build scaffold around buildings and we always put piece of wood under whole construction because metal itself is not good on friction on the ground especialy when you have gravel or something similar there. Just use piece of wood to split load on the ground. It should limit tear and wear of any mechanical parts.

Thanks for showing and saying something about the motor start startup procedure. I think if you had all the breakers on with the main breaker off and then turned on the main that would be more instantaneous surge than what that main could hold. It works and runs under load with how you have it, very sweet, and grats.

Looks like the auger drive shaft could use a center bearing, otherwise, an amazing test run. Machines that complex usually need a lot of tweaking, but you guys seem to have nailed it. Cracked stuff usually needs an optical puffer system to clean up the product, and they're expensive and touchy. I think you have a winner!

Great job on the cleaner project. I have one suggestion to throw out there. On the air output of the pre-cleaner, fab up a cyclone dust collector. You'd be able to catch a significant portion of the chaff and gravity feed it into the dockage auger. It'll help reduce the ground mess.

I can tell lots of stories. Years ago bought used grain elevator, 110 ft tall. Got good deal. Was told by consultant to install restrictions in some downspouts. Did that. Corn cracked, heated in 43000 bo bin. Tried every thing to cure problem. After fighting problem, called bin company said CURE PROBLEM!
They did. Closed restriction playes, plates, of problem.
They had left v plates gap at 1 inch. Just another place to beat up corn.

Awesome 👏🏻 I love building things for myself instead of buying them (not on this scale though). You could attach a couple of spirit levels to the trailer frame, one across and one lengthways to get the machine level. Also, what about cutting the jack handles off and weld nuts on instead, that way you could use a power tool to wind them up and down. An old socket on the end of the cut off handle would mean you could use it manually too.

    Been there, done that.
Made a seed hopper on back of fertilizer trailer. Used a brushed seed augur . Worked great for soybean seed. Gotseed corn in big bags
Big tractor on hydraulic seed augur. BIG MISTAKE. Would NOT move 1 ;ag of seed corn
Ended up using 5 gallon pail to load planter. Ugh! Corn would jam that TIGHT!
Steel augur are noted for cracking seed. Check that for cause.
Had neighbor said; CAN'T LIVE long enough to make all the mistakes.i accepted that as a challenge.

A few suggestions , maybe if you can get the level bubbles from 2 levels and have them on a point on the trailer that you know is flat to the shaker bed.
Then use them to make sure your dead level when setting up.
Also something for your own health and safety (i know.. i know.. but don't want to see you guys hurt) would be guards over the belt drives, even a mesh setup to keep weight down would be a good idea to prevent someone loosing a finger or two or getting pulled in.

Have you thought about cutting the handles off of your jacks and welding a nut on the shaft so that you can lower and raise fast with your cordless impact driver?

I think you guys are doing awesome on the build. I may be a day late and a dollar short, but an idea for the jacks to speed up raising and lowering could be to cut the handle and weld on a nut, then use a cordless drill to raise and lower. We do that on RVs.

Hey Nick, at 72 I' m down to dumbbells only. Reps, Reps, Reps only, still can get a pretty good burn. Nothing heavy just trying to keep up a little strength. For years we hit the gym 4 times a week and ran miles. Very lucky I never had any serious injuries.

Great job with the pea cleaner. If that had been designed by an equipment manufacturer it would have taken at least a year of development to get it working. Yours was basically ready to go out of the box. Congrats

You should add a connection to your leveling jack for a drill or small impact for quick adjustments

Should weld a nut in at the bend in the handle so you can put a drill and socket on there to lower those jacks quicker 😜 fantastic work as always gentlemen. Love the developments your quickly making on the farm it's interesting to keep up with!

Just an idea for the legs. Years ago there used to be a leg you could get that had an adjustable sleeve in it. Pull a pin, adjust it to the hight you need the you will only have to crank it up a little I stead of what ever length of time it's taking you now. Cut the feet of the legs and weld them to a smaller ID box tube that will slide inside the leg, drill and put in a pin. 20 min of fab work will save you time else where... keep up the work!!!🙏🙏

Awesome creativity and design with your grain/seeder cleaner trailer. Have you thought of removing the handles on the 4 jacking legs and welding on a nut or bolt so you can use a drill or impact wrench to raise/lower the jacking legs? Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Grain Cleaner is looking awesome. Different subject, try using windex on shop walls and ceiling. I work in a coal mine and you'd be surprised at what it takes off.
