Between your dad and his sons you guys have welding, fabricating, and electrical design and wiring covered what can’t you guys manufacture. God blesses a hard working man who takes care of his family, worships God and you my friends are blessed. Show the world real men still seek God in our crazy time. Keep up the hard work and show the next generation things aren’t just given to them.

Great project. Most farm equipment designs come from farmers. One suggestion. That white shaft looks like it could use a center pillow bearing. I know shake is the name of the game. Anxious to see it all painted. Good luck on your medical.

You guys are amazing; showing us how to just do It! Most importantly providing information relating to the positive qualities of people who say “just make it happen!”
RD Smith here from Big Sky Country - Great Falls, MT.
Watching the three Welkers construct and repair in your shop is priceless. I’ve watched your series of videos over and over again just to pick up tips!
Yep, you’ve motivated an 80 year old to break out the Miller welder and plasm cutter and start just “doing it.”
I have a Deere 1025R. To make the small Cat One tractor more suitable for my needs, here outside of Great Falls, I started building, in my garage, attachments from tool, fuel, and spray trailers to trailer ramps, and restoring my 18 foot vehicle trailer. Yep, you three are motivators.
Now, only if you could get the price reduced on steel, red dye diesel and gasoline, my remaining years would be perfect. My wife of 58 years would greatly appreciate that too; keeping me occupied in the garage instead of hanging out in the kitchen!
Many thanks to you and family!
    God Bless
    David

I don't know why but I had a HUGE smile on my face the entire video. Love to see the ingenuity and ability of a farmer. People think farmers are "simple" or that anyone can do it... not so much! Keep it up!!!

Hey Guys love watching you Fab. We have those Jack legs odour trailers in uk. We inserted a undersized piece off box inside. So slides out to create an extension. Sacred with a tractor pin. Less winding and you a longer leg for leveling. We also added the nut like other comments so can be lifted with a drill. Keep Fabbjng.

How about using some piece of soft wood under those jacks? One of things I do in my work is to build scaffold around buildings and we always put piece of wood under whole construction because metal itself is not good on friction on the ground especialy when you have gravel or something similar there. Just use piece of wood to split load on the ground. It should limit tear and wear of any mechanical parts.

Perhaps the peas are splitting because they are colliding on a steel surface inside the air chambers. Perhaps line the inside chambers with something less dense than steel.

And Kudos to the brothers for their fabrication skills. Your Cleaner will be the talk of the town diners.

Hey Legarms, cut the handles off of the 4 leveling jacks and weld nuts on the crank shafts. Then you can use a drill to raise and lower them much easier/ faster. You could weld a socket onto one of the handles so that it can still be done manually. Just a thought. Great work.

Thanks for showing and saying something about the motor start startup procedure. I think if you had all the breakers on with the main breaker off and then turned on the main that would be more instantaneous surge than what that main could hold. It works and runs under load with how you have it, very sweet, and grats.

Awesome 👏🏻 I love building things for myself instead of buying them (not on this scale though). You could attach a couple of spirit levels to the trailer frame, one across and one lengthways to get the machine level. Also, what about cutting the jack handles off and weld nuts on instead, that way you could use a power tool to wind them up and down. An old socket on the end of the cut off handle would mean you could use it manually too.

Nothing is better than a Bosch pump. Unless you have exsperienced it, when you build something so custom and specific to your operations and needs, when it finally works and does what you wanted it to, theres very few feelings in the world like it after family. You finally get to stand back and watch your creation/ equiptment work and realize that the hands and minds of those involved are what built it. When I was a kid I would look at my grandpa's hands and think about all the things he had done, built, modified with his hands and every scar and broken and crooked finger told a piece of the story of each thing he did. It's amazing what we can accomplish when we want to.

Looks like the auger drive shaft could use a center bearing, otherwise, an amazing test run. Machines that complex usually need a lot of tweaking, but you guys seem to have nailed it. Cracked stuff usually needs an optical puffer system to clean up the product, and they're expensive and touchy. I think you have a winner!

First, cant the discharge chute from the shaker down further so the cleaned peas don't back up so much. Second, get rid of the plastic window as will get scratched easily and replace with glass. Third, tilt the top of the glass out so reflected light is sent downward and your vision inside is clear. Might make it smaller also. Nice job guys!

I think you guys are doing awesome on the build. I may be a day late and a dollar short, but an idea for the jacks to speed up raising and lowering could be to cut the handle and weld on a nut, then use a cordless drill to raise and lower. We do that on RVs.

Great job on the cleaner project. I have one suggestion to throw out there. On the air output of the pre-cleaner, fab up a cyclone dust collector. You'd be able to catch a significant portion of the chaff and gravity feed it into the dockage auger. It'll help reduce the ground mess.

Great job. My father had a blacksmith and welding shop in Northern Colorado and built custom equipment for his farmer customers. the work you do in your shop brings back fond memories. The only thing that I might suggest would be to add a carrier bearing to that white shaft in the back of the unit removing the wobble out of the shaft to increase shaft and bearing life. Back in the 50sfew farms had wonderful shops like you do and the farmers could farm very well but couldn't weld worth a darn. After you paint your cleaner, you need to ad a logo saying designed and built by Welker farms. I love your videos and your Christian Families. God Bless you all

    Been there, done that.
Made a seed hopper on back of fertilizer trailer. Used a brushed seed augur . Worked great for soybean seed. Gotseed corn in big bags
Big tractor on hydraulic seed augur. BIG MISTAKE. Would NOT move 1 ;ag of seed corn
Ended up using 5 gallon pail to load planter. Ugh! Corn would jam that TIGHT!
Steel augur are noted for cracking seed. Check that for cause.

If you use a cross slot screen it will work much better then a round screen for removing broken seed and it will leave the small seed go with the large seed. You are running the seed to fast for the capacity of your cleaner. If you slow it down a little you have a much better seed seperation

Grain Cleaner is looking awesome. Different subject, try using windex on shop walls and ceiling. I work in a coal mine and you'd be surprised at what it takes off.

Awesome build. It's amazing how our workouts change with the years. I started working my biceps thru "curls"; however, it was my abdomen that got bigger. LOL.

Just need two level eyes one for front to back level and one for side to side. We had twhem on our camping trailer years ago, so easy to level the trailer in just a short couple of minutes.

I think it was George Perrard who said "I love it when a plan comes together" on the A team TV series. It looks like your plan is coming together. Thanks for sharing. Happy subscriber 😊.

Just an idea for the legs. Years ago there used to be a leg you could get that had an adjustable sleeve in it. Pull a pin, adjust it to the hight you need the you will only have to crank it up a little I stead of what ever length of time it's taking you now. Cut the feet of the legs and weld them to a smaller ID box tube that will slide inside the leg, drill and put in a pin. 20 min of fab work will save you time else where... keep up the work!!!🙏🙏
