Nice upload as an ex Plant Operator in the British Army who has experience in servicing large voluminous equipment this brought back some fond memories of being elbow deep in various fluids while stuck down a Servicing Pit for sometimes days on end. I was much happier pulling levers than dropping fluids of course but ultimately the job satisfaction of completing a full service always made it worthwhile. Looking forward to seeing these beauties in action guys. More power to yer elbow as we say in these parts 💪🏼 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼 Ps We had Terex Equipment also so well used to the sound of a screaming Detroit Diesel first thing of a morning.
Just watched a video from a NY farmer who attended a steam tractor show where a 1913 IH "Mogul" tractor had painted on it " NOTICE ,oil and grease are cheaper than Parts ". also still think Mom & pop should do a video on raising you two guys.!
29:23 Yep! After ten beers I sound the same. 🥴 That's why I don't drink beer anymore! Well, at least not that much... 😉 Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻
What an absolute monster undertaking - changing all the fluids and filters. You've just broken my will to complain when I have to change oil and filters in my F250 diesel. I will never say another word!
The cardboard house and the painted nails, you fellows are doing an awesome job of being DADS!. The farming stuff is a great second place but family is first. Great job on everything. I wish you a good harvest, even with all the tough weather issues. Cheers.
Talk about a tool learning curve, for everyone. Nice job on the cardboard boxes. Our grandkids have tons of toys but will play with boxes also. I got my toe nails painted once & only once for them. One foot, purple for her & one green ,for him. They were impressed for 10 sec, maybe 15 sec.
Thanks guys for the content. I can no longer do physical labor, however I always enjoyed working with my hands and at the feeling at the end of the day of accomplishment. No matter how dirty, greasy, or covered in cow poop i was. Please keep it up. And may God bless your operation and family. The cardboard made me smile, reminded me of a Barbie I spent a couple of hours on before Santa Claus arrived in 1984. A glass of wine didn't hurt. I will always remember that year.
I made a tool for fixing the center feed drums without needing a torch. Just 2 circles cut from the side of a thick pipe and threaded center on one. Stick one inside and clamp them together through the drum finger hole to squish the dent out. Works awesome.
In regards to the oil drain There is a tool you can get to put on the engine we’re the plug goes that you can stop and start the oil drain process with out making a mess works great Seen it at our farm progress show that we have up here in Canada in Regina Saskatchewan Canada
Thanks so much for sharing. My Dad's last combine before he retired was a 1986-1660 Case IH Combine. Great memories with my Dad during harvest. We lost my dad in 2019. He is missed greatly. The 1660 Case IH was the last machine I operated. That was probably around 2001. Combines have changed so much since then. Thanks again so much for sharing.
I absolutely love the painted nails Scott! Your entire family are truly amazing people, amazing dads. Memories with card board boxes, and probably other crates that become forts. You guys are amazing fathers, hard workers, incredibly talented, and so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your family with us. God Bless and I do pray that God shows you His True Grace during your harvest this year.
Kids and big boxes a great combination. Our kids had more fun with boxes than any of their toys. On another note, I can't imagine what it costs to change all the fluids and filters on those two combines!!!!!
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable as always. Very nice toolboxes. Lots of storage for your tools. It is interesting how we collect so many tools to get the job done anymore. Good to reduce the number of toolbox’s you previously had. Nice drawer action and deep drawers. Really good to reorganize after some years I am sure. You all did good. Looks great. The combines. Wow and wow on the number of filters you need to change out everything. Just amazing now days. You spent a day just doing that. This new machinery is nice but wow what it takes to service them. Thanks for showing us the process. Was interesting. Then the headers. Lots of maintenance there also. I can see with your rocky ground. Leg arms doing a great job with the torch and hammer. Nice work. Saves a lot of replacement parts. Takes a lot of time to get ready for harvest. Who ever thought you were have to get oil in 55 gallon drums. Wow. Nick: absolutely super job with your children. You are a good dad. The empty tool shipping boxes turned into play houses for the kids. They were delighted!!!!!!! Super idea dad and mom. They love it!!!!!! You all have been super busy getting machines ready for harvest. Important to do that. Harvest is a busy time. Believe you said the peas are about ready to harvest. Prayers for a good crop production at harvest time. About it for now I guess. Enjoyable watching you all do what needs done with your tools and getting ready for harvest. Teamwork and the Welkers have it that is for sure. My compliments to each of you!!!!!! You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. PS: nice construction job on the playhouses.
Take some of your smaller toolboxes and put good casters on them and use them as tool carts. Just put the real basic stuff in them. You will be surprised how much time you save by having the box close behind you.
You guys are great dads’. I love your channel. It’s amazing how people think farmers just drive around the field and make money. They have no concept of how much it cost just to do an oil change and all the filters.
So to Legarm's point about lubrication, please oil the hinges on your trucks' doors. Seems like every one of your heavy trucks have that 'feed me' squeal. Right out of the Wizard of Oz and the Tin Man. Thank you.
Nick, the kids playing in the big boxes made me smile. My dad would bring hugh shipping boxes home for us to make forts. Great memories. Thank guys for being awesome husbands and daddy's. Blessings on the Welker Families. Peace!
Guess what??? The hilight of this wonderful look at all you guys do in preeration for harvest; was the toy house you made aout of cardboard bozes for your kids. Simply precious. May God Bless you and the entire Welker Family always.
Nice work - not easy to service those 'monsters' of a combine. I have fond memories of the neighbor picking ear corn with a IH 2 row tractor mounted picker. Farmer James was what he wanted to be called. Sadly his house / farm is long gone. Only memories in my mind now. His acres are covered with houses along with my grandpa's place. Miss riding out with Grandpa and digging horse radish roots. Don't miss the grinding of it though. IF the wind changed when grinding it. You would start to tear up and sometimes cough. But loved eating it. Soon you'll be harvesting the crops not hailed on. Means winter will soon be upon us. Getting my 13 hp snow blower ready. The neighbors love coming home from work. Their driveways done and all they have to do is pull into their garage. The Mail person also likes me. LOL Hope the crew / family and you are doing well. Take care - be safe and God Bless.
Just a suggestion about the toolbox. Get a second one, set one as sockets and ratchets and the other for wrenches. If you plan on keeping the older boxes, use those for "specialty" tools. Looking forward to harvest time, hopefully, you'll get good solid yields. Cheers :)
Wonder if you ever cut the filters and open them, (the more important ones) stretch the accordioned media out and check for metallic contamination. Run a magnet across where the vee was in the pleats as that where most contaminant will be trapped and check for the bad stuff. Keep in mind that there may be non ferrous metallic particulates. Ya don't want to see any crud with part #s - -:) At oil changes on my Cessna engine, I check the engine filter for metal.
We farm in east central Alberta about the time of your video we drove past your area to Northern California. It’s amazing to see the how the crop conditions change in a days driving. We have what looks like one of our best crops and are about 7 hours north. I hope what missed the hail surprises you.
All kids love big boxes. Thank You for letting us visit with you and your family. It really makes me feel great . Maybe in a couple of years you’ll know where everything is in the new toolbox. Be safe. Enjoy your family. Thank You 😊
if you're gonna use a cut down tote like that for the oil you could also fab some baffles from the cut off sides and top of the tote to go into to prevent massive sloshing as you move it around. Hey, and if LegArms wants to paint his nails fancy colors, that's cool too.
Not sure how chronological the scenes are, but Nick cuts boxes for the kids condo (great job Dad!) , and then shows up in the shop with a finger taped up. Ah, I remember so well the the cuts and bruises from being a Dad with little ones... dangerous business! LOL My Dad almost broke his collar bone climbing in a 65 year old Weeping Willow to haul a cable spools two sides up into the tree for two floors of our magnificent tree castle when I was 8. Brutal business having kids! Meanwhile Scott shows us his painted Daddy fingernails.. When I was in the Navy my daughter could only paint my toenails, but she made the most of it. Fond memories.
Scott in the background always becomes a very interesting thing to watch! I’ve enjoyed his background antics for years! Yes Scott, you’re being noticed!!! Priceless!!!
You guys have the operation to harvest big crop! I hope God, who has blessed your fields with warm summer rains-and some hail, too, will bless and protect the kids and family with extra good things.
On big bud leaking water, there is a compression tester to see if compression is getting in coolant, a tube with special fluid in, placed on top of radiator, fluid is blue, turns green when diesel exhaust is in rad, yellow on a gas burner. Would recommend testing, might have compression in radiator, causing it to blow
When you grabbed the drill from the tool box, I thought, did you ever think that we would be using tools like our grandparents, or even great grandparents used? Cordless! 🤣 The kids sure liked those box house you made. Stay well, thanks for sharing 👍👍
I am very happy to see the shop getting some upgrades! Sorry to hear about the hail. At least it will free you up earlier to work on your houses! There is always next year. Loving the bloopers at the end! Take care and God bless!
Yoy guys need some kiazan foam inserts for the toolbox to keep you main tools organized. We use it for our wrenches, screw drivers and pliers and absolutely love it!
I had to laugh when you fellas were doing the unboxing in the beginning, because my first thought was Case IH tool box, and I was surprised at the same time. Nick, with your hair cut so short, you really look a lot like your dad, and he is so kind and humble. I wish your mother would take a shine to the camera, because it's rare to see her. G-d bless all you Welker's, and little Welker's.
👋 love the videos keep them coming, one suggestion as when you change the oil on the combines they make a plug for the oil pan that has a ball value in it Fumoto sells them, great product been using them for years keep up the good work 👍
i have the CIH tool box with the gold demos on the lid when you open the top, and a smaller one that has a timeline of tractors and the lid when you open the top, surprised the one you have does not have a picture.
Hello from Gallatin Valley! We just started cutting down here last week, plus or minus a few days. I got to go run in one of Garry Dehans S770’s last Friday while they were cutting barley. Hope you guys have a good rest of your year up there!
I have picked up some sticky sided magnetic tape and put labels on them. That way you can mix or move them until you decide a on a more permanent location. I have moved things from drawer to drawer after about a year or to getting the most common in a the best location.
Just a question.. is there a reason you guys wait until just before equipment is needed to do maintenance? Or it that just how you schedule things? Years ago I worked doing excavation work, and we did maintenance at the end of the season so equipment didn't sit with old fluids, and so we had time to order what needed replacement without the urgency. I've carried that through the years for motorcycles, yard equipment, that sort of thing. Hoping your harvest turns out better than you're expecting!
A toolbox drawer labeling idea... Buy some 1/2" wide by 15-yd long Roll-N-Cut Flexible Magnetic Tape (available at Amazon, amongst other places). It's magnetic on one side with a sticky back on the other side covered with a white tape. Cut it to consistent lengths of 3-4". However, leave the white sticky side cover in place. You can then write on the white side with a Sharpie, or print out 1/2" wide labels with a label maker and stick them to the white side. This gives you ultimate flexibility on labeling the drawer's contents. It also gives you the ability to change your drawer organization as needed by just moving the magnetic labels from drawer to drawer. You can also put multiple different labels on the same drawer. This system has worked well for me.
I’ve had the same tool box for 25 years. Used it daily when I was a heavy equipment mechanic. It’s in my garage now. Doesn’t matter what drawer I open it’s the wrong one 👨🔧🤦
According to the farmers almanac the central part of the US is supposed to get lots of snow this winter. It seems like you never have enough toolboxes for tool storage especially for the big equipment that is coming out in agriculture. Do you have 3/4 impact sockets and guns ?
Robert, Nick, Scott I really enjoy your channel I sure wish I can hook up with you guys sometime as it's on my bucket list. If you ever go to Demco in Boyden Iowa to tour there plant contact me as I'm only 20 miles away or if you stop in Boyden Iowa and then if you go to the other Plant and take hwy 18 to Spencer Iowa you go right by my house in Sanborn Iowa as I'm just off of hwy 18.
18:46 NICK did you cut your finger making the ''BOX BUILDING'' ??? :) looks like you needed to get the OTHER SET of TOOLBOXES to complete the complex!! :) LOL
Nothing greater in daily life than the children God has blessed us with. Thank you Lord for the five, all adults, you blessed me with. Also, my two grandchildren.
Please be sure to add the purple additive to the water so it will not cause electrolysis. That will cause pits in the sleeves. It happens to mine last year and I ran water in it for just 4 weeks. Uhg! Parts is outrageous right now.
Love those Welkers. Man, those huge filters and all those fluids must cost a fortune. We non-farmers don't realize what those machines require. We complain about changing oil in our cars every 10,000 miles. Kids just love playing in big boxes. Cudos to Scott for letting his daughter paint his nails. Lots of fathers wouldn't do that.
Great job guys as always. Hey what do you think you all save in labor costs per year. I’d think close to 65 grand. How close would that be?? If more families that could farm together the way you guys do it would be wonderful. Tks again for the hours of learning & just great videos. ❤️👍❤️👍
Did every fluid except the hydraulic on our 6130 last year, I think I went through 11 separate gearboxes. Now this year it'll be that, 2 magnum 280s, a magnum 180, and a 2388 combine as well. Probably closing in on 200 gallons of hytran in total
Wear protective gloves when draining the engine oil, protects your skin and you. You probably already know this, but those parts that have to be driven in, freeze em first if you can. Good maintenance plan. I very much enjoy your video's, keep em coming.
Guy I used to work with at the bodyshop had a huge snap on toolbox.had end vertical cabinets and a top box with a roll down door . It was long enough and wide enough he could lay in it and close the door
Yep, you always have that. Wrench 13 is actually to big, need half inch. Better have them both. and when you need m, everyone does. So you need a number of each. Wow, you change a lot of oil and filters! Did you change the air in the tires to, for real Montana air? The kids will play with that boxes for long. Rather then all their computer stuff. They were happy with them, we could hear. Great to see and hear that! Blessings! 😅
Awesome vid as usual guys 👍👍👍!! Also love the out takes at the end! Classy production move Nick....keep those coming too! 🤣 You guys do a great job, and really make my evenings when a new vid is released. Keep up the great work. God bless you and your lovely families.
Advise using water-pump lubricant in your coolant if you're runnin' straight water. I know the temptation of plain water coolant during the warm (i.e., non- freezing wx). Looks like rosebud time!
you guys MIGHt possibly have one or two more roll arounds than I do, now get out the closed cell 1 1/2 foam and the heat cutter to get all the tool pockets cut, plumber's tape keeps the pegs equally spaced, $3k? Lubricant comes with an armed guard now doesn't it, $1600 a barrel for 30 W
@@firstamendmenttshirt4768 judging by the size of their farm, equipment and length of time they've been farming I'd say they're doing it right. Do you suggest maybe planting......thistles???
If you're going to line the drawer of a toolbox do it properly with eva foam that is at least 20mm thick so you can do cut outs for the tools, not that tissue then drop-in plastic/rubber rubbish.
More power to yer elbow as we say in these parts 💪🏼
🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Ps We had Terex Equipment also so well used to the sound of a screaming Detroit Diesel first thing of a morning.
That's why I don't drink beer anymore!
Well, at least not that much... 😉
Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻
What an absolute monster undertaking - changing all the fluids and filters. You've just broken my will to complain when I have to change oil and filters in my F250 diesel. I will never say another word!
Nick putting that orange sticker on Leg Arms,.....now that is brotherly love!!! Kids getting to play with the big boxes,.....priceless!!!
The cardboard house and the painted nails, you fellows are doing an awesome job of being DADS!. The farming stuff is a great second place but family is first. Great job on everything. I wish you a good harvest, even with all the tough weather issues. Cheers.
Wayne is
Scott gotta love a Dad that lets his daughters paint your nails! Two hard working brothers can accomplish a lot of work!
Nice Case IH tool boxes. Before they get dirty, a good ceramic coating would help keep them beautiful. 🤣😆
I knew exactly where you were going when you mentioned the big boxes! What a fun thing for your children, and what great memories you’re building!!
I made a tool for fixing the center feed drums without needing a torch. Just 2 circles cut from the side of a thick pipe and threaded center on one. Stick one inside and clamp them together through the drum finger hole to squish the dent out. Works awesome.
In regards to the oil drain
There is a tool you can get to put on the engine we’re the plug goes that you can stop and start the oil drain process with out making a mess works great

Nice tool boxes and organization. I recently did the same and used my old ones for nut bolt washer and screws and had room left over for fittings.
Super video...brothers working together!
Kids and big boxes a great combination. Our kids had more fun with boxes than any of their toys. On another note, I can't imagine what it costs to change all the fluids and filters on those two combines!!!!!

Every kids favorite - big boxes. Lots of great memories, Hollywood.

You should convert the boxes you got rid of into road boxes for the farm trucks
they make socket trays for both shallow and deep well that would fit in that box
Enjoyed this video. Nice to see how you all keep the farm looking nice. Loved the nail polish. LoL .. God Bless you all
Scott in the background always becomes a very interesting thing to watch! I’ve enjoyed his background antics for years! Yes Scott, you’re being noticed!!! Priceless!!!

Yes sir. I remember those days. Love to see the young ones having fun
Put wax paper behind your magnets and it will not hurt your paint as bad.
i have the CIH tool box with the gold demos on the lid when you open the top, and a smaller one that has a timeline of tractors and the lid when you open the top, surprised the one you have does not have a picture.
Great job by all. Really enjoy seeing the machine work. Nice new tool box too. Fingers crossed and prayers for harvest!
Watching Scott cut the bands off those boxes reminded me of a kid on Christmas morning with wrapping paper flying as he opens the presents.
I love the bloopers at the end
If you have a steep hill boxes layed with an overlap make a real fast sleigh ride. Just sit on another small box and away you go.
Hello from Gallatin Valley! We just started cutting down here last week, plus or minus a few days. I got to go run in one of Garry Dehans S770’s last Friday while they were cutting barley. Hope you guys have a good rest of your year up there!
What a video a pleasure to watch. I wonder how long your new tool box will stay shiny. Please keep making your videos
I have picked up some sticky sided magnetic tape and put labels on them. That way you can mix or move them until you decide a on a more permanent location. I have moved things from drawer to drawer after about a year or to getting the most common in a the best location.

Now all you need is the stereo system for that big roll away tool box 😁stay safe guys and good to see the eagle outside 💪🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
I thought my machines had a lot of filters! Good luck on harvest. God Bless the farmers!
I’ve had the same tool box for 25 years. Used it daily when I was a heavy equipment mechanic. It’s in my garage now. Doesn’t matter what drawer I open it’s the wrong one 👨🔧🤦
need to think about straight water don't want to pit the liners you are using DCA in your coolant i would think great work Men
Mike Mitchell just got an X9. Sweet machines. Great content
According to the farmers almanac the central part of the US is supposed to get lots of snow this winter. It seems like you never have enough toolboxes for tool storage especially for the big equipment that is coming out in agriculture. Do you have 3/4 impact sockets and guns ?
I hope we get 4 feet! ☃ 🌨 ❄
You can really use the moisture and get a good crops for once without any hail.
Robert, Nick, Scott I really enjoy your channel I sure wish I can hook up with you guys sometime as it's on my bucket list. If you ever go to Demco in Boyden Iowa to tour there plant contact me as I'm only 20 miles away or if you stop in Boyden Iowa and then if you go to the other
Plant and take hwy 18 to Spencer Iowa you go right by my house in Sanborn Iowa as I'm just off of hwy 18.
Always enjoy your videos.
This is a great one.
You are blessed. Thats like $10,000 in tool boxes. Ya'll deserve the best.
Thanks for showing us around that big equipment! Blessings always...
Seeing hard working guys like y’all gives me hope for the future of our country. God bless.
The fact that he was getting ready for harvest and still made a cubby house for his kids is awesome
Guy I used to work with at the bodyshop had a huge snap on toolbox.had end vertical cabinets and a top box with a roll down door . It was long enough and wide enough he could lay in it and close the door
Super Job guys !!! Love it ! Can't believe that harvest is so close. Time fly's.
Прекрасное оснащение мастерской. Местами, как цех на заводе.
I always look forward to your new videos!! I would LOVE to do all that maintenance.
Blessings! 😅
They changed most ....... except my mind......😊. Good to hear from you Gerrit. Trust you're doing well. Blessings
Awesome vid as usual guys 👍👍👍!!
Also love the out takes at the end! Classy production move Nick....keep those coming too! 🤣
You guys do a great job, and really make my evenings when a new vid is released. Keep up the great work.
God bless you and your lovely families.
Thanks & God bless!
Advise using water-pump lubricant in your coolant if you're runnin' straight water. I know the temptation of plain water coolant during the warm (i.e., non- freezing wx). Looks like rosebud time!
You should get your brakekleen in bulk and a pump sprayer. It’s expensive to purchase off the hop but well worth it in the long run
you guys MIGHt possibly have one or two more roll arounds than I do, now get out the closed cell 1 1/2 foam and the heat cutter to get all the tool pockets cut, plumber's tape keeps the pegs equally spaced, $3k? Lubricant comes with an armed guard now doesn't it, $1600 a barrel for 30 W
A lot of hard work to get done, I love your attitude towards it! Blessings.
It was so sad to see your crops get hailed out the other day. That bumper crop is coming next year, you guys deserve it. Keep up the great work .
You're absolutely right, big year next year! Can't wait!
Their whole region deserves it man this is a terrible year man for sure
H meg not like they care because they have insurance for it an if they wanted to do it right they would plant things that grow in drought season.
@@firstamendmenttshirt4768 wow
@@firstamendmenttshirt4768 judging by the size of their farm, equipment and length of time they've been farming I'd say they're doing it right. Do you suggest maybe planting......thistles???
A punless episode? I hope your dad is feeling well. Gotta love all the equipment maintenance. Lotta work, but bigger rewards. Great episode!
Another awesome video! My always stated, the best insurance you can buy is oil and filter changes. Box houses are the bomb!
Looks like you need to adjust your front Draper seal clearance to keep all that trash from getting between drapers?
great thing is you can have all those special tools accessible in old tool boxes an just the dailies in the big box
You reach the engine oil drain from the engine deck side instead of squeezing behind the engine. Also don’t forget def filters!
Good luck combining your 2022 crops Welker Farms
Great vídeo Welkers. Success always.
If you're going to line the drawer of a toolbox do it properly with eva foam that is at least 20mm thick so you can do cut outs for the tools, not that tissue then drop-in plastic/rubber rubbish.
