  • Leg Arm's was given the opportunity to be apart of the new BIG BUD tractor build. Putting his machining skills to the test, he built the three main pins that connect the front and rear halves together. We are thrilled to have had a small part of the legacy of the white beasts of Montana. Looking forward to seeing this tractor in the field! Thank you Rome Plow and Big Equipment!

What an honor for Welker Farms. Very well deserved. Helping the less fortunate by selling Big Bud filings in a jar is pure Welker. Love it.

A lot more than filings in a jar.

“The whole operation is a toy” no truer words have ever been spoken in regards to those big outfits like Welker’s, Mike Mitchell’s, Larson’s, and even Millennial Farmer. They are living in a real life Farming Simulator map.

Nick, have you thought about putting those filing into empty clear Christmas Tree ornaments? Not only would they be preserved, but all of the Christmas tree lights would reflect off of the shavings nicely. There's my one good idea for 2023, and it's yours.

What an honor for Welker Farms
    I drove a bud in 1978 at Keller's
    Supply in Morenci Michigan.
They were a John Deere Dealer in
    southern Michigan. Glencoe made
a special Soil Saver to run behind
the Bud. Hard to keep it together
it walked too much. Kept breaking
And kept welding and putting gussets to help. I was 17 years old.
What a thrill it was. My boss bled
green and did all his business there.
    Laser Farms of Waldron Michigan.
Quite the time to be around farming.

    Hi Leg arm's
Your little problem with you ruffling your thread is 2 things
    1. Your tool for the thread steel is very thin and has too much overhang, so put the tool back as far as possible in the tool holder.
    2. lubricate well while cutting the thread and remember that every time you cut a thread use a sharp cutting tool. 😁😇
You do a super great job. 😎

Job well done. Been machining for 45 years. When it comes to metal removal, it all starts with rigidity. There is a great book called Machinery Handbook. Try and find older one. Maybe mid 80's edition. Have about 2500 pages. Lots of charts. Have all sorts of details like vee pulley angles, sprocket details, splines, gears, bushing fits, material selection, etc. I know reading isn't your strong point, but it will become your Bible.

Wow! To have been afforded the honour of being part of the manufacturing of the new Series 5 Big Bud tractor (deservedly so!) and then to make use of the filings in such a positive way is brilliant! Moreover, it is a charity that is just as appealing to your international audience as it is to your domestic one. Whoever thought of that idea, deserves a big congratulatory pat on the back! Donating to something that makes this planet a better world, really emphasies the 'bud' in 'Big Bud' as 'friend' as in 'buddy', although in my ignorance, the actual meaning may be a 'bud' as in a plant budding. But I like to think of it as , 'Big Bud, Friend of the World'.
