Does anyone know if there’s an APP that allows you to plan routes and send them to the nav unit? Faffing with the buttons on the tiny screen is frustrating. I don’t mind the unit but don’t use it that much, I tend to use it to get back on route when I get lost. The display is handy.
Good luck with the Nav 6. Garmin have stopped making it. The Nav 6 is prone to problems of ghosting etc with lots of customer returns. An expensive brick.
Ive been looking for a satnav for few months..Ive got a BMW S1000R Gen 2 and been looking at both Garmin and the other well known brand seem to have issues. Just had brain fart and searched sat nav for BMW bike and came up with the navigator VI. Watching your vid it turns out to be a Garmin in BMW disguise….hows it been since you uploaded this vid? Someone local selling one for £295 second hand ..seems dear for a Garmin kit second hand
Hi there, I got mine for around the same sort of price (maybe slightly more expensive) from eBay. It has been an excellent purchase so far…. I’ve heard many horror stories (since buying mine) about delaminating touch screens that cause ghosting (as if somebody keeps pressing the screen) and when mine did that my heart sank. However, I cleaned all the fingerprints of the screen and it has worked ever since (touch would it will continue to). I don’t think it’s as functional as say, google or Apple Maps, but the fact it is waterproof and doesn’t glare in sunlight makes it better in my humble opinion. I hope that helps a bit; good luck and thanks for watching!😊
@@TwoWheeledDreamer thanks for that…..did yours come with the mount …think it was just the nav unit you had. I cant find a mount like yours for sale…lockable !
you didn't show how to remove it when you parked. I can see it's not in the cradle as you walk away. Mine will not release i was hoping for that in your video
Hi Charlie, my apologies… turn the key to unlock it, pull the little lever on the left as far out as it goes and then push the right hand lever inwards whilst holding the unit and the top edge should pop free…
My Nav 6 has broken so many times - I am number 4 already in 1 1/2 years. Everytime I get to around 12C, it craps out on me and the screen delaminates and starts going crazy. Two main problems with it - 1) it doesn't work, 2) it doesn't give an option to find fuel on your route.... which is really frustrating.
Sorry to hear that! I’ve heard lots of horror stories about the Nav 6 since buying mine. Thankfully mine’s been ok so far…. From what I’ve seen BMW have just released the new version which hopefully addresses the quality issues of the existing ones. Thanks for watching, very much appreciated!
Mine has pretty much behaved itself so far although when it does bite the dust (and upon hearing all the horror stories I'm sure it's just a matter of time) I'll be stuck as it was an eBay purchase... It also seems unable to find half the things Google maps can! I'm setting off for Morocco in two days time, fingers crossed it doesn't pack up on me then...! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hi John, I’m afraid I don’t know of an Apps…. Cheers Steve
well, yes, it's a garmin and if you register it you'll get links to basecamp.
Basecamp, BMW MOTORRAD

Fingers crossed it does the job for me….

THE WORST gps out there, not to mention the price! What a scam, as depenendable as their bikes! I just returned mine again!

I had a GS with 600K KM. My current has 80K, estimating another 60K next year. Guess you have bad luck.
Please don't touch Nav6, they are total shite
Ownership has been interesting to say the least…. 🫤
