Your a natural interviewer one of the best I’ve ever seen
This interview is testament that Shaun is a certified journalist not many people would have been able to get as much information as he did from this guy. I know people are panning the guy in the comment section but he seems slightly nervous.
Aaron Linton- Chambers -well said. I mean bloody hell rhat was painful. Like drawing blood from a stone. And I know Shaun has said he doesn’t get on people with fake stories but . Maybe the guy is crap at telling stories but it’s meant to be about his own experiences but the facts don’t seem to be true/ like he doesn’t know the way Jamaican customs search someone so he explains it without going into too much detail incase he is wrong.
He just had heart surgery too!
His complete indifference to absolutely everything is what probably saved him.
And a lot of ganga with it. It does numb the brain a bit. The bloke needs a break, just had a triple heart bypass!!!

People are saying this blokes hard to interview. I thought he was a good bloke. He’s an interesting fella.
He's had interesting experiences but is poor at conveying them. He still seems in shock and bemused by what happened to this day.
He's got a good story but he's a bit hard work to get the stories out of him but some people are more natural than others at talking.
Yeah agreed. Also he did just have surgery apparently so that may affected things . Anyway he seems like a decent bloke. Good luck to him
Known Tommy a long time and I can see the toll the "Triple bypass" Meds etc has had on him, not bad for a man of 61.
I wish I'd have been a fraction of the places he's been to, born in Warrington put me up in London in the 80s.
Has a wicked dry sense of humor.

Irons 11 I’m a black yank and I would be beyond horrified! The bastards all pulled out knifes and started placing the blades against his flesh on the very first night in the cell! Tommy must be a very resourceful guy, to have found his place within that prison community. Respect to Tommy!

Everybody’s a critic but I liked the guy . Seems like a humble guy ,not full of himself.
This guy Tommy is a sound skin. Respect to this man. One cool bloke to withstand that experience. I find parts of his delivery of the story funny at times the way he describes things so bluntly.

Amazing this man managed to write a book about his experience, based on his ability to speak about what happened was very brief almost painful to listen too, not the most reviting podcast.
Fair play to him for getting through that experience.

Also doesn't he remember the most horrible stuff????? Geezzzzz you had to pull his teeth out for his story!!!! Anyway, love your podcasts it keeps me less depressed dealing with cancer alone. Everyone is slating the guest but not everyone is a natural storyteller and it’s probably his first time doing something like this. Plus, I’m more inclined to believe guests like this. It’s not like he’s throwing crazy stories out there that sounds like he’s made them up off the top of his head. He’s just like yeah I was in Jamaican prison, it was fucking horrendous, traumatising stuff but I got through it. Shame we couldn’t get more details but it is what it is.

I agree Shaun is an excellent interviewer. Plus he connected to Tommy even though he was very laid back and not very verbose. If one spends a lot of time in Jamaica, let alone a Jamaican prison, they lose the hyperness of a Londoner or New Yorker ect. Also some people are naturally (or drug induced) slower. Kudos to Shaun as usual.

Real talk Tv LOL. He could play a perfect kingpin in a movie all proper and well spoken like he is but have a sadistic side for people that crossed him. Just casually taking a meat cleaver to someone’s fingers that robbed him all while maintaining his quiet well spoken aura. He would be perfect for something like that IMO. To the outsider his persona would never be suspected but people on the inside fear him knowing his other side and what he’s capable of. Perfect role for that type of character
