I agree that live performances are extremely important, as a performer and a listener! I have had the unfortunate experience of getting turned off a band are seeing how bad they performed live. You save your money, you get all hyped up with all the merch, wearing the bands top proudly, just be disappointed by a unjust bad show... I'm lucky, I seemed to get the impression like yourself, I've had more positive experiences with band blowing my mind away on how good they are! We connect ourselves so much with metal, that when it goes a little shit, we feel like shit...

It's a sucky experience to have. And a major turn-off that will make you stir away from that band.
