I love making Travis confident, but I would've loved it if he just spoke normally, without that forced suave voice. Like right after you rescue Vadim -- no longer nervous, just comfortable in his own skin.
Panzer Man kinda wished he still made the occasional mistake on the radio and instead of freaking out he’d chuckle to himself before fixing his words. Or make cute jokes between songs and you can hear him giggling to himself before the music began. A lot more life would be added yknow
As a DJ I can confirm to you that we all speak with confidence in the mic. So confident Travis is not too far fetched.

It's supposed to mean time passes different in fallout universe. I can't explain this, but time perception is different there and Travis is taking the time to meditate I think snaps and becomes alpha, his confident voice sounds like he's been a bit drunk or stoned and like he's just had sex.

I'm a horrible person. I relate to Nervous Travis so much that when I heard what he turned into after completing that quest I kind of regretted doing the quest. I loved listening to Original Travis. Confident Travis sounded to much like a superficial jerk to me. 😥
Not every one who has anxiety stammers and stuff like Travis though. For me , it makes for a very unenjoyable experience when I just want to listen to some music or at least don't have some one like Travis being the DJ / announcer or what ever people want to call it ( the job ) I think it's nice how he is relatable on some level to people ( even me ) and don't know yet what he sounds like after he gets more confidence / charisma but original "Nervous Ned" type Travis annoys me. Sorry. Edit : Ok , listened to the whole thing now and I guess I just dislike Travis in general. I feel like after confidence man , he sounds like he's trying too hard to sound like this Casey Kasem or who ever / what ever that guy's name is....but any way my point is that even the "new and improved" Travis annoys me on some level. He may have some witty dialogue I have not heard yet but so far.... over all , not a big fan of this character. I don't like him being replaced by a kid either though so I will try to learn how to make a mod some day or just grab a mod to fix this issue for my self so I can enjoy the radio / announcer when I play.

The original Travis is so much more endearing and real to me. He was one of the first things in Fallout 4 that quickly cemented his place in my heart. I was in love with the idea of the radio host being the neurotic freak who isn't coping well in this harsh world.
He was the first other human voice I heard stepping out 111, had the radio on ever since.

Travis is great either way, but I do find a lot more humor in his anxious original broadcasts. With that said, I nonetheless always make sure to help him eventually, because my personal amusement notwithstanding, he's a sincerely good guy who deserves to feel some pride in himself, and know that he has another friend in the Commonwealth.
I remember him saying, he didn't had personality until that shootout. I always thought it was the other way around.
Vadim is such a friendly character, he just gives out a lot of great vibes.

Mr NV sucked, he was boring and played the same 2 fucking songs over again and a fucking again. I already disliked country music before NV was released and after playing it I have a deep hatred for country music, ESPECIALLY if it's Johnny Guitar or Blue Moon (practically scoured the entire desert trying to find Mr NV so I could put a bullet between his eyes so he coyuld finally stop playing those godawful songs.
Matt Allen he plays like 8 songs sorry your game glitched out. Also Mr. NV is a computer program that Mr. House set up. You can't find him in game. I don't even think you can find it in game files.
well my NV disc has barely any scratches on it and yet it A: plays those 2 same goddamn songs on repeat all the time and B: seems to freeze at the loading screen every 2 hrs (even tho I haven't got any mods on) and why am I not surprised the cringeworthy Mr NV isnt an NPC I can kill?
Matt Allen which system are you playing on? Xbox glitches alot. And ps3 glitches even more. I can no longer play my copy on ps3 with how bad the code glitches out I literally can't finish it without it immediately crashing. Bethsada isn't known for making ports that aren't full of glitches they don't fix.

Vadim and Yefim are actually two good guys, right? I mean, this entire plot is out of love and respect for a friend. The idea is 'dumb' because it was made by a bunch of dumb bar guys but it isn't thoughtless. Vadim is well aware that he can't suggest Scarlett date Travis because "maybe she think she no longer just waitress", and he doesn't want Scarlett to think that because it isn't the case. And if Scarlett does have a thing for Travis, it really is just a modern lovable moron trying to help a friend out. There aren't many people in the Fallout world that are just good people; Vadim and Yefim could and probably do exist in our world.

i think he does that when your companion starts shooting. or if you shoot. when i did this quest, i had preston with me, and he shot immediately so travis shot too. they killed them both, i didn't even get to land a hit

Never doing this quest. As far as I'm concerned the songs on Diamond City Radio are just intermissions between Travis' golden dialogue.

I love Three Dog, he is probably my favorite NPC from any game. He just has so much more charisma and personality then Travis or Mr New Vegas.

This is the first time I witness how Travis changes with his original english voice actor.
As someone who plays Fallout 4 in german, I noticed a big difference.
That forced confidence you can hear in the english Travis is easily spotted. The german version of the post-quest him sounds way more genuin and real, like he actually ... uhm "realised some of his potential?"
Isn't it fascinating how the same context can play out completely different just by the way words are spoken? Truly remarkable.
On the spanish version he is even MORE annoying, at least for me xD

Same goes for the german version. But unlike in the US version, he sounds like a genuine and confident guy after completing the side-quest.

I feel so bad for Travis. I honestly love the guy. I just want to make him feel better. Like I feel him so much I genuinely cry when I hear him sometimes cause he sounds so heartbroken and I just-
I love Travis so much, he's lovely. Such a good boi. But I also love old Travis, I kinda wish that he didn't change so drastically and kept some of his meek-ness while still being a tad more confident. Something like, no longer apologizing at his sarcastic comments, and demeaning himself less but keeping that same humour. I think that would've made him a more balanced character, keeping most of his quirks, whilst still giving you the satisfaction of actually helping him.
I finally got fallout 4 and very excited.
