Making line 4 just 5 stops from the beginning was a horrible mistake. Additionally Sheppard line 4 should have been extended a decade ago. With all these consultations and debates I expect this extension to be done in 2040.
This extension is looong overdue. Need to extend west to connect to the west arm of the line at Sheppard West Station (formerly Downsview Stn) to make it even more useful.
It should be one of the number 2 concepts. It needs to include a section to Sheppard West for folks who want to head from the northern Yonge parts of Line 1 to the Vaughan part of line 1 or the future Line 6. I’m leaning my support towards 2B because of the routing to Scarborough Town Centre.
It would make life so much easier. Not to mention it would be redundant. If the University side is down, people can take the 4 over to the Yonge line. It would also make for a great transit connection to a possible future Ontario line extension.
North America treat subways and trains like an experimental technology. It needs to be means tested… Consulted… Deliberated… Endlessly for all eternity. Because trains are just such a weird, crazy foreign technology. 🙄
Option 2B is obviously what’s needed. Later, we can even extend along Ellesmere Rd to U of T Scarborough and eventually Durham. Eager to see shovels in the ground!
No because that’s doesn’t makes senses to end at STC, because 1, It’s goes off Sheppard Avenue and it should be a straight line, and 2. It Will decided any transit for anyone living east of McCowan Rd
@@funvideofan1625no need for it to follow Sheppard ave if it becomes less useful of a line, more ridership comes from stc thus they should have the one seat ride to north York
they should do sheppard west first. given how often sections of line 1 and 2 get taken out of service, we desperately need more crosstowns to get trains where they need to be.
The two options that include the line being extended west to Sheppard West station make the most sense for a number of reasons. One of the biggest is that it would allow the TTC better access to their yards, currently located near Sheppard West station, allowing trains entering (or leaving) service on Yonge St. faster access to and from the yard.
It's nice to see that they actually didn't abandon the Sheppard subway. It would nice to see that thing run from Sheppard West station to Sheppard and McCowan.
The Ontario line should meetup with Line 4. There should also be all day 2 way service on GO from Gormley to Oriole. And a direct weather shielded walk way from this GO station to Leslie subway station
The west extension should have whatever it needs to create an interline extension to Finch West, so that there is a full corridor from Humber College to McCowan between Lines 4 and 6.
Extend it west to start. It’s such a no-brainer and such an easy win. Then extend it east to Scarborough centre. Then extend it east again, to Malton or the Airport.
This needs to be a subway from the west end (either meet a n-s line that goes to the airport from line 2, or go to the airport), dip to stc, then come back up to Sheppard and run to the east border of the city. Go/Metrolinx should also consider a high speed rail line across the city. Either find a hydro right of way or elevate a line along the 407. Stop in the east, 404, 400 & yyz and link to ttc & other transit. But make it fast & linked. Later, it can run east to Kingston & Ottawa then west to London/Windsor. Who needs cheap, local housing if you can go Toronto-Kingston or Toronto-London in an hour? Is it TGV that has a 576km/h train? Japan will soon have a 600km/h maglev.
I think the best option would be a mix of concept 2B and 3 where the west section of the line goes to Sheppard West and the east sections follows Sheppard past Don Mills before diverting off Sheppard to connect Scarborough Centre and then making a stop at Centennial College before following Sheppard to Sheppard and Morningside. Then in the future it could even extend up to Pickering
My plane for sheppard. extend west to Sheppard est. Extened east to STC. Then from STC extend it further east to Guildwood go. Then extend it North east to Galloway, then to West Gill, then toCentennial Morningside, then have it end at U of T Scarbrough.
Me personally I would want to see the Sheppard east LRT line for the Sheppard extension because the Sheppard east LRT was part of the Metrolinx master agreement that was sign on November 28 2012
Why would they care what any of us think. We will all be long dead before they even put a shovel in the ground and start building this thing let alone actually ride on it.
tell them to just call Reece Martin
Facts
They need to keep in mind that the Ontario Line should be extended north to meet this line.
👍

Too little too late. By 2040, the city along with the rest of society is going to be a dystopian dump. All going to collapse.
I agree, this consultation is eye wash. If you want to build it then shut up and build it.

Yes. Sheppard West to McCowan.

What consultation is needed? Thus project is absolutely needed to connect east and west without the need to go all the way to line 2
Checks the box so when ppl complain they can say they did public consultation and can claim what they did is what ppl wanted
Agree! This is unfortunately why dictatorships r more effective. Seriously just build it! Take some accountability

@@paxtothemax3824 exactly. Ellesmere is a better road for it (even east of McCowan)
I want both Sheppard west and Sheppard-Morningside 🙂
Same!

Phase 1: Sheppard Yonge to Sheppard West (Senlac Station, Bathurst North, Faywood Station)
Phase 2: Don Mills to Sheppard - McCowan (Consumers Station, Victoria Park Station, Pharmacy Station, Warden Station, Birchmount Station, Kennedy Station, Agincourt GO Station, Midland Station, Brimely Station, Sheppard McCowan 2,4,7)
Phase 3: Sheppard McCowan to Rouge Hill Go Transit (Malvern Division Station, Markham Station, Progress Station, Neilson Station, Morningside Station, Meadowvale Station, Kingston Station, Rouge Hill Station)
Phase 1 is urgent. Should get that done first. No question about it
Should’ve been build a long time ago. Currently it takes about 1 and half hours to get from mccowan to sheppard west which is insane

Should’ve been done along time ago! You can’t have half a subway and justify that long term
Hallelujah!!!!!

@1:23 where can I get that shirt
I would pick Concept 3: because it will connect people you live east of McCowan finally a subway.
RMTransit has done great videos on this - yes!

This should have been built ages ago but because the rich like to cry and complain it continues to get more and more expensive
It should run from Sheppard West Station To McCowan.
Extend this subway line all the way through west and east. $100 billion dollar approved by government.

Build this already. Should have been built a long time ago
Concept 2B Central & West Extension and then build the Sheppard East LRT to run from Kennedy North/Agincourt to Morningside/Toronto Zoo
Extend it west to Downsview and East to Sheppard-McCowan!
Do Sheppard west to morningside. Otherwise 20 years later you will be back to complaining. Do the full job once properly.
