I am moving out of Toronto on December first. I’ve lived here my whole life, grew up here. It is not the same city as it once was. It has really changed. It seems over the last seven years I’ve noticed a large decline in quality of life here and it feels more like America than Canada.

WTF as all the people have to try getting on the pack train behind. Coming up after work usually full of emergency alarms etc, only smooth 5% of the time. You just pray they don't have service suspension until Sheppard station, by then I will just walk or ask family to come get me.

Totally hear you! This is what I replied to someone who said the TTC trains run every 3 minutes: At night the trains come not every 3 minutes, more like every 7-10 minutes. And the likelihood of delays is much higher at night due to so much security issues or electric outages due to “injury at track level” tragically most likely due to someone losing their lives. It can be quite an odyssey at night. And then so much of the time you can’t hear the announcements properly or they give incorrect or not clear announcements. And most times when the say we have to leave the train and catch a shuttle it’s NOT correct so I just wait patiently on a platform bench and avoid the crowd and hassle and within 1/2 hour trains are back to running. Long live the TTC! 🙄😂 I wish it could be cleaner, smell better, run smoother, be drug less (it’s a cesspool of drugs on the subway now and don’t use their washrooms or you can step on powdered drugs!), our city take care of the homeless so they don’t have to use the TTC as their only refuge and place to do drugs. The TTC is like little wars breaking out left right and centre. If a real war broke out and we had a real terrorist attack on the TTC we wouldn’t make it.

This isn't really the fault of the TTC you can't send a train with blood on it off on it's way, the train has to be taken off the line and cleaned thoroughly. Yes the TTC system needs improvements though and they should of made a better effort to reassure the passengers and provide information but again this isn't really a TTC fault in even places such as Japan with the best trainset system in my opinion they will also take a train out of service if there's blood on it like that but at least with frequent service theirs another train right after. The lack of urgency point also doesn't make sense since they can't just go 100kph on a track that can't handle it just because of a delay.

Agreed, but they need to go quick and get the train out of the station and to the yard when this happens. Since trains come every three minutes it not super inconvenient to wait for another train

@@andrew_is_so_great At night the trains come not every 3 minutes, more like every 7-10 minutes.

The trains use to be so quiet past like 9 pm. Why is it so busy??! Like even on a Saturday night back a few years ago it was never this busy, it looks like 1pm, not am lol. Wow.

TTC staff is so poorly trained and unprepared. They could've isolated that one car to prevent passengers from going in and carried on to finish the trip. They should also be given proper communication training, because you either can't usually make out what they announce over the PA system or they go radio silent and you are on your own. Terrible

Typical TTC. I would say about 50% of the time there are delays of some sort whenever I ride it. And the communication sucks. When I stayed in Tokyo for 2 months and rode the very massive and complex train systems they have throughout the city, I never experienced one delay. Not once. When I returned to Toronto, it was a culture shock coming back. It just feels so grimy, cheap, unorganized here. The TTC is a real low point for the city. And it's not even very big, as far as cities go. Oh, and I should add, so many things just don't work here, like escalators, elevators, displays, and they take forever to fix. You very rarely see anything not working in Tokyo. The technological progression between Tokyo and Toronto is like day and night.
