Wow what a high quality video Paolo. I got to ride one during a TET trip this summer - What a machine! The engine was extremely powerful. I ultimately went with a Husky 701 enduro myself. Keep it up!
Beautifull bike, and no doubt that she must be a great one, but too much electronics for my personal taste. I would prefer a Teneré 700, a AJP PR7 or a V-strom. Fantastic video by the way! Keep up the excelent work!
That’s an informative review! And it’s obviously a good bike, however, I still think most motorcycles after frontal crash still look better than KTM’s current adv bikes. Sorry to say that!
Totally agreed about the hazard lights. No idea why it's not included. I have a 790 and I would love to have them. I had to stop on the highway out of gas once and it was at night. I felt very vulnerable.
Thanks for the vid 👍🏼 After riding the standard 890A for a day (and a full tank), I decided to go for the R because the suspension on the standard version is inadequate. I found the fuel consumption a little disappointing, but it's still good - I got 370 km to the 20L tank (but heard max. 450, realistic 400). Fuel gauges are not important, as going by distance it a perfectly good method. I'm happy with the screen adjustment design, as once chosen I've chosen s setting, I leave it. Normally mobile phones last a day without being charged, but if a top-up is necessary, charging safely under the seat is acceptable for me. There's too much good about this bike to ignore it.
Agree. Depends what you use it for but if you are gentle with the throttle you can get to 400km with one tank. Anyway, the 890 is as good as it gets for the midsize class
Hi Paolo, I loved your video which told me what I wanted to know. I bought exactly the same bike. I’m only 500 miles in but like it more than my ATAS DCT ES and GSA before that. It’s skinny and light compared to those and has a fun factor missing on the others, great bikes thought they both are. I’m 5’8” so no giant and the R is just too tall. The stock seat is dreadful and Ergo replacement less bad but certainly not comfortable. It needs bar risers for me too and lower pegs. The holy grail is the GSA position which was, for me, perfect. The quickshifter wasn’t great but adjusted by my local shop and very good now. The clutch is pretty light but for this money should be hydraulic like all the smaller KTM enduro/mx bikes. The brakes are good but not premium kit and, again, for this money Brembos should be fitted. This is a keeper so I’ll make it work for me. Next long ride is Slovenia later this year. That’s a 3,000 mile round trip so I’m keen to have it sorted before I go. Thanks for your help in my decision. Best, Ian
I guess i could agree with some of the points you made there. It s not a cheap bike but i think the new 790 will be a great bang for the buck kind of bike. Same specs than the 890 but cheaper. Ride safe!!
Great video man! The scenic shots are amazing too. I'm really interested in the bike. Could you please do a follow up video on the 890? I am mainly concerned about the reliability of the bike... Coming from Japanese bikes and (luckily) a reliable BMW. Hahaha. Thanks a lot!
Hey mate! Yes, i understand your point of view. I rode an 1190 adventure for over 190000km and i had ZERO mechanical issues. This pushed me towards the 890 which so far has been flawless too. I have 20000km on it now (in 6 months riding) and the machine is absolutely great! Much easier to ride and much lighter too.
Beautifully shot and edited video. Congratulations! Keep making more. My friend and are debating if those are Wolfman, Tusk or some other brand of bags.
Hiya. I have the same bike but I’m finding the side stand (in the up position) is getting in the way when I am standing up when off road. I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs and my heels down (as instructed on courses) but this means my left heel is pushing down on the side stand which feels awful and could be dangerous. Do you have this same issue? And if so what have you done to prevent it?? Thanks. I did purchase bigger pegs but it hasn’t made too much difference really. I’m still catching the side stand with my left heel 🙀🙀. I’m absolutely loving the 890 though. Amazing bike. I have made mine look more like the R version with the same front fender as the R and other upgrades. I would also like to upgrade the WP suspension may be next year then it will be just the same as the R but at the moment whilst learning off road skills I’m happier being able to put most of both feet almost flat on the ground (I’m 5’11”). Thanks for the great video 👍🏼 safe riding 😁
Hello! Yes, if you have boots on and maybe a size 11 or 12 (i m 13), you are going to hit the side stand with the left foot. It s unfortunate but even if you push down all the way it s unlikely to kick it all the way down to become dangerous. I usually just keep the heel a bit wider and it doesn't bother me too much to be honest. The 890 is an absolute beast. The higher front fender makes it look more aggressive for sure and so the shorter windshield. Suspension wise i have to say that if you are careful, you don't really need to put the pro wp on. But yeah if you are going hard in off...you need to upgrade. Olhins are a tad better than WP...unless you get the X-plore Pro. Thanks for watching
Great Video Paolo, Thanx for your time. I like this bike and considering to buy for some time. But the problem is I'm 5.5 small guy, I am not sure is it good for me ?? ( PS: I rode super sport bikes for many years) So this will be my first adv bike?
I have a friend from Sardinia who is probably 5”3 and got a 790 S second hand and he loves it! Just be careful and get a better seat. Balance is everything!
Thanks for the great video! Do they fix the condensation of the dash now(or have you experience any)? I'm in UK and weather is miserable lol!! Also is the fuel gauge now accurate (I realise they say 1/2 now)? Thanks in advance
No condensation for me in the dash...and I ve been leaving the bike parked outside in the salty and sometimes cold air of Greece. The half tank is accurate. Especially the reserve indicator. If it says "50km left"...it s literally 50km. Ahah ran out of gas couple of times just to test it out
Ciao Paolo.
@@PaoloCattaneo Grazie Paolo.
A+ review. When I test rode this bike about 2 months ago, I liked it very much but I got such a lot of dirty turbulent air from the screen onto my helmet buffeting my head so badly that unfortunately it was a deal breaker. I have never experienced anything like it on any bike. I was so disappointed. I am 5'7".
Weird! I m 6"3 and once i raised the windshield a notch i can barely feel the wind. It s still an "offroady" bike after all so wind protection is limited and not as good as the bigger sister
@@PaoloCattaneo Yeah I was disappointed to say the least with the screen. Unfortunately it is fixed so you can only adjust it when off the bike and with tools apparently, according to the KTM dealer I went to. You can't do it on the fly as you are riding or even stationary sitting in the saddle which is a shame. Maybe it could have done with being raised? If not then maybe there are after market screens available? Shame as I really liked the bike. I love orange as well.
@@alexmorgan3435 yeah, it s a one screw operation...but still, you have to stop and use a tool to raise the shield. I also had an agv helmet that was horrendous with w8nd resistance so maybe I don't feel much vibrations because of the new helmet i got. Anyway, the bike is absolutely a beast. I ve been loving it. Over 20000km ridden so far and nothing but good feedback for me. You should wait for the 2022 model maybe?! 😉
@@PaoloCattaneo Thanks for the review. 20,000 km, so any reliability issues? I'd really rather have this bike, but am leaning towards the Tiger 900GT or even the 900 Rally Pro, just because I'm worried about having issues with the KTM. Thanks
@@greg9076 i can only speak highly about the KTM bikes I had. I own a 1190 adventure which I rode for 190000km with ZERO mechanical or electrical problems. This 890 i ve been riding for a little over 20k km now and I had no issues whatsoever. It has been a wonderful machine so far, even more manageable than the heavier 1190.
Paolo - I really enjoyed your real world review of the 890 adventure. I was also impressed by the beautiful scenery you captured so nicely with your drone especially in the first half of the video. May I ask where you filmed theses scenes? Looks like a place that I should put on the list of places to visit 😎 thank you, Oliver
Thanks Oliver for the nice comment. The drone footage was a collection from my trip around Italy and Greece. Check my other video about the 890, where I show my roadtrip with the bike from Austria to Greece across italy. Cheers
Hey Paulo Great video and review, A question if my may, I just got back from test riding the 890 adv s and find that above 120 i had very bad turbulence on my helmet I am 1.81M tall and has wondering how you find the screen. other than that loved the bike
I am 190cm and i can still get by on the 890 with the standard windshield but on the higher setting. Clearly of you have an adv helmet with sun visor, you will somehow always have some resistance but overall i feel quite good even at higher speeds on the 890.
Ciao Paolo.
Great review. I have the 2020 790 S. My riding is done in the American southwest in UT, NV and AZ. I'm only 5'10" and I felt like I had to put one inch (22mm) risers on mine after getting shoulder pain standing on the pegs for a 1/2 hour or more. I put Dunlop Trailmax tires on mine which are better off road than the Avon's but I also get slightly less MPG and triple digit (in MPH) speeds feel a little less secure than the Avon's. I bought the cruise control afterwards which I really like. Very precice and I can give my right hand a rest now and then. Again, great review. I'm wondering if I should sell my 2020 790 and get the 890 now.
Hey Don! I think you should wait. If you have the 790, you wont notice too much of a difference with the 890, unless you really push the machine to the top. Next year ktm is releasing the 2022 model, i think, so you may want to hold on to it and check the new one out which i am sure will be a whole different ball game compared to the current 890. Ride safe!
I have a 790 and thought about trading it in on a 890. I have alot of accessories for the 790. Do you know are things interchangeable?? Like seat, top box, rade garage windshield
Hello!! Yes, the trade is definitely worth it considering that all accessories are compatible. The 790 and 890 have only minor differences such as lcd display, adjustable rear shock and...engine. seat, windshield and all other parts not mentioned are 100% compatible.
Great video, very illustrative and with all kinds of details. I really like the bike for its lightness and versatility, but I also really like the triumph tiger rally. Have you tried the triumph? How does it compare to the 890S?
Matter of fact i did try the tiger rally just few days ago. After riding with the 890 it s kind of shocking to hop back on the "top heavy" tanked bikes. Despite having ridden almost 200000km with my old 1190 adventure, having low center of gravity like on the 890 adv is a MASSIVE advantage on any terrain. Much less effort in corners and generally better comfort in the seating position. The triumph 900 has indeed an excellent engine; really smooth one especially at low rmp. A true pleasure to ride. But I found the weight a bit excessive for a 900cc bike and the torque cannot be compared with the 890 in rally mode. I liked the t900 riding position, despite of the high fuel tank, and the seat. Quite a comfy machine. I guess the difference comes only in better fuel consumtpion of the 890 (1 cylinder less to feed) and its higher torque. Ktm is also better in offroad, hands down. Both machines are really good piece of engineering and superb bikes to ride overall.
@@PaoloCattaneo Do you really think that the 890s is better off-road than the tiger 900 rally with the 240 mm travel multi-adjustable showa suspension? Is the weight difference really that noticeable? I already assumed that the KTM would be more nimble because of the lower tank, although the actual difference in kg is not that big, but I didn't expect to notice a huge difference. Thank you very much for your response. Regards.
@@TonhoGZ i think the low center of gravity plays a massive role in this comparison. It is probably the main difference actually between the two. I just checked and they seem that both have 196kg dry weight so yeah, same same! But the low tank and the different seating position seem to give a slight advantage to the 890. The tiger behaves well offroad too. It s just takes more man handling than the 890 which really flows through those gravel roads instead! Suspensions and brake a probably fancier on the tiger to be honest (Brembo and showa, as you said) but almost unnoticeable if you ride normally.
Hello there! For couple of months now I am wandering about buying the KTM 890. The only problem I've had was that most of the videos are showing the R version in hard off-road, and S on the streets (without talking how capable it is on more difficult terrain). I don't want to jump over dessert dunes, and sliding 100kph on gravell roads. I just need a good travelling motorbike that can take me (plus often my wife as a pillion) ALMOST everywhere, and I can build upon and lern more difficult roads for next 5-10 years from now. This video shows 890 S should manage well. So, my only question is - if I say tomorrow: I will ride from Europe to Asia or Africa (plus pillion, minus hardcore offroad) KTM 890 S will do the job or the R version is a better choice for this kind of trip? [Just to be clear - for 8 years now I am travelling with my wife on my old Honda CBF 600 S which is a street bike. We love to get off the asphalt, there is where the adventure starts for us! But we are at the point where couple of times in Albania, Romania and Turkey we've had to back off because of suspension. So I've started to looking for something more off-road capable. We are looking something for the next 5-10 years of travell].
Hello mate! Thanks for chipping in. Yours is a valid argument since the S looks like a very street oriented bike and the R a very off road one. The truth is that if you get the S version you can get more value out of it since the bike is perfectly capable of handling any offroad situations. I rode my 890 adv S model through the mountains of Crete and through 3 weeks of adventure rally tracks and the bike behaved absolutley well. If your riding, as you said, is not really focused on Hard enduro stuff, you ll be definitely happy with the S. With the money you save in getting the S model you can get all the optionals (rally mode, cruise control, rally seat, etc) fitted on. The S model has also a bigger windshield which is what you want anyway for general use. It doesn't wobble while riding offroad.
Hi Paolo, i like the video, well done. Lucky you live around these beautiful places. Quick one: my use is mainly on roads. Still, I like these adventure bikes for their confort and capacity to go far with few constraints. The question is: how far you can lean down with this bike before the front tire wipes out?
Hey! Well it all depends on the tyres you got on. I was able to scratch the pegs on mine so, yeah...quite some angle for a 21" wheel adventure bike! The S model especially is really awesome and you can push it as hard as you want. Good brakes and suspension for road performaces and a little bit lower center of gravity than the R model which is instead a bit more offroady
@@PaoloCattaneo hi, thanks for review, very informative. You being 6ft2 why didn't you chose the R version which is 880mm seat height with 40mm more suspension travel and ground clearance , with fully adjustable suspension?
Nice overview. It's interesting. You must be the only person to ever say the wind protection is good. The tyres are more like 95% street and 5% gravel. Remind me of the Metzeler Tourance fitted to my old G650x
Honestly, i think wind protection is good! Too bad one cannot adjust the windshield quickly. otherwise it would be even better. The Avon are ok on dry gravel. But yeah. They are basically 90-10.
Hola. Lamentablemente no he tenido esto problema.
# nice review, comprehensive and informative. Is this bike good enough and usually commuting friendly? drive daily to work in the city and also the highway( Commuting) and sometimes during a weekend round of recreational( actually only road) so, which one? Triumph Tiger, Yamaha tracer 9, BMW f900XR........ Any way great video Be safe.
Yes, definitely! Excellent commuter and cheap on fuel if you go easy on the throttle. The lower center of gravity makes it super easy to manoeuvre. Just go try it and see it yourself. One of the most agile big adv bikes out there. the difference between the 890 adv and the other with conventional fuel tank is abyssal. A beast on tarmac. A tiger offroad.
I wish i could update my 990 adventure but I'm afraid of entering the ipad generation and ruining the electronic free experience, i really enjoyed your youtube but i hope my old bike gets me to retirement
Yeah, if you don’t mind the extra fuel, keep the 990. It s a vintage piece now. Just keep in mind that I ride my 890 in rally mode, with offroad abs, which means that there are pretty much no electronics (except ABS in front) controlling the machine power delivery. Hence it s like riding an old school bike…but with less problems. Technology in bike production has made HUUUGE steps ahead. Electronics have been placed only for the bike to be accessible to a larger audience. If you disable them all, you are riding the bare machine. Full power!!
I Currently own a Ktm 790 adventure R but i also have the original suspension (i bought an upgrade s model from the dealer. I’m really loving how it handles offroad (i do this occasionally during spring/summer on a track and in farmland with huge potholes etc..) But i wonder if the ‘s’ supsensions are enough.. If i sell the ‘r’ i can buy nice upgrade like a rally tower :p. And i’m only 1m75 so it might be better since i can’t touch the floor and sitting a bit cramped in lower seat position. Also been thinking about saving for an1290 adv SAR because i wanna do sole 2 up traveling with my GF but a bit scared of the weight since i don’t wanna give up offroad.. i think i need 2 bikes 😂
if you are riding 2up and you guys are under 70kg each, I would say to keep your 790 and get the most out of it. riding 2 up it's fine if you have adjustable preload and rebound. the 890 has this and it's one of the main differences between the 790. The rear shock is what gets most of the beating in the long adventures on fully loaded bike. I wouldn t recommend you to go for the 1290 because of the weight and size. a massive difference I have to say from the 890. Definitely a whole lotta effort to move that bike! save your money and stay with what you got which is great!
I use the bike for travelling mostly and the S version is more inclined to the type of riding I do. With the taller preload setting and the higher seat the S and the R are basically the same height. On the S I have a taller windshield, which it's better for long distance travelling. The Apex suspensions on the S models are equally capable, unless you really want to do jumps with the bike, so yeah...the R or Rally may be more suitable.
As an 1190-S owner, I'm very happy that I did NOT go for the 1190-R version. The -S version is still plenty capable offroad, but much better for longer trips. The -R trims are somewhat weird... They mix the power and weight of a touring bike with the ergonomics of a dualsport, making them not quite fit for either activity. Too heavy for serious offroading (unless you're a VERY big and strong guy, which I'm not), but the ergonomics aren't good for long-range touring, either. The only case where I see the -R version of an 790 / 890 or 1190 would make sense is if you're EXTREMELY highly skilled, kinda Chris Birch - to ride a 230+ kg bike in serious dirt, and ALSO make use of that power. That, or if you basically just want a dirt bike, but you're so big and heavy (and also strong!) that "normal" dirt bikes are just to weak for you...
@@suzukirider9030 as an ex 1190 s rider and now a 890 s rider....i couldn't agree more. The 1190 is NOT an offroad bike...clearly...as all the 1200cc bikes. It is an offroad cabable machine indeed and I know that for certain as I took the bike in the craziest places. But, as you said, i am 6'3 and quite strong...and still struggled quite a bit, because I m no Chris Birch. Even with the 890 now (which is waaaay better in offroad) you never use the full power of the machine! Definitely the S models are more in like with the kind of bike these are... Weighting over 220kg, it s no joke to take these massive beasts offroad...so naturally are more inclined to touring and tarmac. But still pretty fun to ride on dirt and generally easy-mid level offroad stuff.
@@PaoloCattaneo Yep. Thinking of switching to an 890-S for that very reason - in fact I might become faster both offroad AND on tarmac twisties - because the bike feels that much lighter to lean into corners. I'm certainly a lot faster on my street bike (Yamaha FZ-6 S2) than on the 1190-S, mostly because the ~180kg sport-tourer is so much lighter and lower to the ground. The only situation where the 890 will be a downgrade is straight-line speed and acceleration. But according to multiple videos the 890 can still get to 220 km/h, and that's about as fast as I ever go on the 1190 anyway before self-preservation instincts get me to roll off the throttle :-D
@@suzukirider9030 the only downside of the big adv bikes is the higher center of gravity and longer excursion of the front forks, which doesn't really allow those quick maneuvering and hard braking, compared to the 100% street oriented bikes like your FZ6. The center of gravity issue has been addressed completely with the 790/890 models. It s truly a game changer! The 890 has a much better engine overall than the 790 and it "goes". 1st and 2nd gear in rally mode will always make front wheel pop up! And it reaches 180km/h in no time. In that sense, i haven't missed the LC8 at all. Once you get used to not have a bulky tank in front of you, it s hard to go back to the old way! I am very happy with the 890 atm. I ll choose it everyday on the 1190. Technologically more advanced but equally grunty for the mixed rides.
depends of the use. For long distance travelling I would probably go for the 890. Lighter, enough power, better fuel consumption. less heat generated underneath the seat. For tarmac oriented weekend rides or 2up long travels, the 1x90 and LC8 are still my preferred choice.
Niente problemi di sorta. So far so good. :)
@@alessandroboccherini6944 guarda ti consiglio innanzitutto il rally pack. Assolutamente necessario. Un'altra moto in modalità rally! Altrimenti scproject li fa omologati e suonano bene.
Rally pack!
Yeah it's kind of crappy for the 790 owners. (not to say 790 is a bad bike) That's why I always try to wait a couple years after a new model is released to iron out the bugs. There always are with new models.
@@GallicGarlic Why, don't make it sound like waiting is passive. While waiting - one can be riding a model which is a few years old but polished and reliable! And have a ton of fun with it! If a new thing comes out - it doesn't ALWAYS mean that it's better than the older thing!
Paolo Cattaneo How many liters of fuel per 100 km did it go out at an average speed, or how far did a full tank of 20 liters last? Do you have enough acceleration dynamics when the bike is fully loaded?
@@ИгорьАсманов-д7ы if you keep riding on highway you ll get over 430km with a full tank. There s enough power to go over 200kmh fully loaded and with panniers.
true but think of this, since it's already installed (hardware wise) you don't have to pay that tons of extra money to get them. Yes it's utterly ridiculous to have, for instance, the Cruise Control installed but you need a license to unlock it in the software/firmware. As if it's Adobe Photoshop or smthing. Safe rides :)
Great video, Paolo! Very professionally shot. I am just curious if this bike is any good for first bike after getting a license and for mainly touring?
Of course it is! It is very gentle and quite manageable at low rpm. The electronics allow one to tune the machine to the very detail. I ve seen novice riders having lots of fun on this one
the LC8 is a totally different engine. much more powerful much and much more exciting. 50hp more, in the end. It keeps you on your toes. My 1190 felt way heavier though! not sure about the new 1290...but definitely two completely different riding experiences. the parallel twin is a more round engine. easy to ride, easier to control in terms of power. a more comprehensive option for everyday use and long travels.
This is the Standard model. The R model has a higher front mud fender and mirrors have a round shape. And the R model also have adjustable front suspension.
You're forgetting the serious issues, all the negatives are to minor and are being downplayed, this is a commercial not a review. Must being a nice job reviewer for KTM (yes, I am jalous of your job).
What negatives are you talking about? I mentioned the parts i didn't like much about this bike, almost at the end of the video. I do not get paid to do these review. This is my personal channel where i talk about my travels and such. it was an honest opinion about the bike. I have yet to encounter a issue with this machine after 10000km. Maybe you are referring to the 790 model which I heard had some problems. So far so good for me with this 890.
@@PaoloCattaneo I have 13500 km on my 2020 790R and have had no issues. KTM has got an undeserved bad reputation for reliability. This has been the best bike I have ever owned
@@pbinpg7168 tell me about it! I ve done 200000km with an 1190 adventure s and over 14000km with this 890 adventure and absolutely no issues. Wow what a high quality video Paolo. I got to ride one during a TET trip this summer - What a machine! The engine was extremely powerful.
I ultimately went with a Husky 701 enduro myself. Keep it up!
Excellent review. Wonderful drone video, tunes, & bike based videos.
Waiting to see the Husky 701 for some positive changes.

Good review and nice bike.. Nice music and drone made it feel up to date👍🏻
Great video, with great drone shots to boot. The island of Crete owes you for promoting it, too! What an amazing island for moto lovers.
Thanks a lot! I can show some appreciation at least for the island that certainly deserves its credit.
Collecting my first ever KTM tomorrow, so stoked! Thanks for the vid, makes my leap of faith with KTM so much more reassuring 👍

Great video Paolo! Keep them coming! Just picked up the 890 r!

What an amazing review. Very professional from the visual point of view as well as technically. Subscribed.
Thanks mate!
But 1090r looks better😉
probably the best looking one for sure
Very good! I’m looked for a lighter bike then my BMW 1200GS, I’m 72.
Go for it grandpa😁
72? Dude i want to be like you. Happy rides!
At 55, I find the GS too heavy. Go for this Ktm, the weight is SO low down and it’s light weight, honestly it’s double the benefit. Keep riding.
I’m slowly turning my Husqvarna 701 into a lightweight ADV bike, will see how that goes.
I took a KTM 690 to Ushuaia Argentina, no problem except for the engine failure in Antofagasta Chile. That’s it in my avatar.
Skills= 8/10, video= 10/10 Locations= 10/10, commentary = 9/10. Audio =5/10. Overall = awesome biker and motorcycle!
Thanks for the comment mate! I appreciate it
Totally agreed about the hazard lights. No idea why it's not included. I have a 790 and I would love to have them. I had to stop on the highway out of gas once and it was at night. I felt very vulnerable.
The 790 / 890 don't have them in ANY form? lol... well at least they are orange :-D
I had to subscribe considering I'm interested in the 2023 version of this bike. Also, my last name is Cattaneo !! Cheers!
Alright!!! Long lost cousin!! 😎🤟🏻
good review! Keep doing it, Keep safe✌
Thanks for the vid 👍🏼
After riding the standard 890A for a day (and a full tank), I decided to go for the R because the suspension on the standard version is inadequate.
Anyway, the 890 is as good as it gets for the midsize class
superb review of 890, thank you so MUCH!
Not a problem!! Cheers for the comment!
Very good video. Better than most.
Thank you
Great video, do you find the front Avon runs out of rubber before the rear on the twistys
The avon are very soft but they did last me averagely enough…compared to orher brands. Very soft compound
Ride safe!!
Really wellmade film! Thank you sir!
Good vid mate. Nice footage. Informative:)
@@PaoloCattaneo Appreciate the input man! Safe ride!
Same here let me know about your decision
@@behalsingh1290 I plan on getting a F800 GSA because of the price, fuel range, and off road capability.

I've been riding with Giant Loop bags for over 5 years now. Excellent products and excellent customer service.
Nice review pal, thanks 🤟
Nice video Paolo!
We love this bike
Thanks! 👍

Hey Paulo
Great video and review,
A question if my may,
I just got back from test riding the 890 adv s and find that above 120 i had very bad turbulence on my helmet
I am 1.81M tall and has wondering how you find the screen. other than that loved the bike
I am 190cm and i can still get by on the 890 with the standard windshield but on the higher setting. Clearly of you have an adv helmet with sun visor, you will somehow always have some resistance but overall i feel quite good even at higher speeds on the 890.
Beautiful review man. New sub added.
Ciao Paolo.
Great video, all main points covered, thanks 👍👋
Great video, which racks and bags are you using please ?
Hello. I use touratech rack and Giant Loop panniers. They are great! www.giantloopmoto.com
Ride safe!
@@PaoloCattaneo good idea 👍 thanks Paolo.
Nice to see Greece in your travel.
Um yeah thanks for solidifying my choice.
How is reliability on these bikes? Is anyone doing big touring miles on them? What’s your experience?
i ve ridden 200000km on my 1190 and 60k on the 890. highly reliabe yet performance oriented machines
Bella!
Great video! What soft bag do you have there?
I've been riding with Giant Loop bags for over 5 years now. Excellent products and excellent customer service.

Awesome!

Could you tell me what drone did you use for the drone shots?
Hello Martina. I used a DJI Mavic Air.
Any way great video
Be safe.
Oleee!!!
Que paisajes!!y gran moto!

Cool video dude !!!
Thanks!
I Currently own a Ktm 790 adventure R but i also have the original suspension (i bought an upgrade s model from the dealer. I’m really loving how it handles offroad (i do this occasionally during spring/summer on a track and in farmland with huge potholes etc..)
But i wonder if the ‘s’ supsensions are enough..
@@PaoloCattaneo thx for the reply! I will keep rocking on my 790

I think you have drive in my favourite road's... Sfakia... And theriso.... I hope you've enjoyed..
yes, it's one of the best of the island for sure!
Nice informative review 👍🏻
Thank you 🙂
Bro how do you rate tiger 850 sport and 890 adventure base variant?
haven't personally tried those. Would love to!
Bravo Paolo complimenti!
Grazie!
Thank youuu 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
great review.
I'm curious, why the S model over the R ? you seem like a tall dude who can handle it no problem. so why the S ?
cheers :)
If you had to choose, would you prefer one of the 790/890 variants or the current 1290 SAR or S?
depends of the use. For long distance travelling I would probably go for the 890. Lighter, enough power, better fuel consumption. less heat generated underneath the seat.
For tarmac oriented weekend rides or 2up long travels, the 1x90 and LC8 are still my preferred choice.
Mitico... Complimenti per il video...
Hai riscontrato problemi alla moto?
Come va nel complesso?
Grazie
Niente problemi di sorta. So far so good.
Graxie
@@alessandroboccherini6944 guarda ti consiglio innanzitutto il rally pack. Assolutamente necessario. Un'altra moto in modalità rally!
Altrimenti scproject li fa omologati e suonano bene.
Rally pack!
La vidéo est excellente !!
Good that KTM fixed many things with that version. Really sad, that it took the 790 for them to realize it had so many things to fix....
Yeah it's kind of crappy for the 790 owners. (not to say 790 is a bad bike) That's why I always try to wait a couple years after a new model is released to iron out the bugs. There always are with new models.
Well.. you can always wait .. and wait..
@@GallicGarlic Why, don't make it sound like waiting is passive. While waiting - one can be riding a model which is a few years old but polished and reliable! And have a ton of fun with it! If a new thing comes out - it doesn't ALWAYS mean that it's better than the older thing!
Actually i had nothing to fix besides the brake issues which are a warranty topic. At least my model is very reliable and very economic to ride.
Has your Gas Tank started cracking?
Gas tank is fine.
Stunning scenery and a truly fantastic bike. What's not to like?!
Informative review, thanks!Awesome views! Where was it filmed?
Hello. thanks for your comment. It was shot mainly in Greece.
Hey! During the operation, what was the average fuel consumption and how was the dynamics enough for acceleration on the highway?
I actually mention fuel consumption on highways. best fuel consumption is at 105/110 kmh with an average of 23km per liter of fuel.
How many miles do have on it now Paolo...
12000km which is 7500mi (i think).
@@PaoloCattaneo ....I have 14,000 miles on my Dragster RR...keep riding!
I wonder how the reliabilty is. I ride a minimum 20,000 kms every year.
I rode 25000 in a year with the 890. Kind of pushed the machine hard too. It s reliable. Just keep it serviced regularly
@@PaoloCattaneo Nice to hear!
ridiculous KTM policy making you to pay for Tech pack extra to have you cruise control button even work.
Yeah...that one is a teaser. 😅
true but think of this, since it's already installed (hardware wise) you don't have to pay that tons of extra money to get them.
What kind of seat did you put on it?
It s the powerpart seat from ktm. It s one piece instead of the standard 2 pieces and 2-3cm taller
@@PaoloCattaneo thank you! Waiting for my dealer to get mine in!
Seat is very high on spec. Sorry. But great bike.
The 890 adventure R is more better.is the best one.good luck
Depends what you use it for mate! But yeah the R has better shocks and looks
but how does this engine compare to your v twin?
the LC8 is a totally different engine. much more powerful much and much more exciting.
👍🏻Thank you

Is this the ktm 890 Adv R model or ktm 890 Adv model ?
