Battle City was definitely one of the best but there are some other contenders, like 5Ds Dark Signers, GXs Society of Light (followed by Supreme King) and idk about anyone but I loved Arc-Vs Synchro arc, especially Shay vs Dennis and Yuya vs Jack.

as great as battle city was, I definitely think GX had moments that surpassed it, I mean the zane vs yubel(jesse) duel was incredible, the graduation duel was awesome, not to mention GX got the best character of the series CHAZZ!!!!
I really like the side duel where Zane is duelling Jesse so he can get his rainbow dragon through the portal. So I can’t wait to get to this kind of rematch you’re talking about in my rewatch adventures.
The ONLY two duels that I would say is on par or even surpassed battle city Yugi vs Kaiba are... Yuma vs Nash in Zexal. The emotional impact, the stakes and the duel's choreography is insane. And Team 5Ds vs Team Taiyou - Sure, this duel in particular lacks urgency and stakes the other two monumental duels have, apart from it being a tournament duel. However, this is easily one of most enjoyable and fun duels to watch in 5Ds.
I like 5Ds. It’s my personal favorite but classic Duel Monsters is a close second. Only thing that edges 5Ds out above DMs for me is I like synchro summoning the most out of all the summoning mechanics and the wild concept of “Card games on bikes” is weirdly well executed
To me, the best arc is the Darkness Arc / Season 4 of GX. Mainly because it felt like an actual final Season and not relying on the Season Finale to do it. Also because the side characters actually do stuff and not sit around like Tea, Tristan, or Ishizu (which she does in Battle City). My biggest gripe with Battle City Arc is unfortunately how it was set up. Nothing truly important happens until 3/4 of the way through. Trying to tell a story through a tournament arc is not a good idea traditionally. The only good tournament arc that comes to mind immediately in terms of story telling is the Chunin Exams. The reason why that was good was because the story wasn’t focused on the exams. But rather the circumstances and people involved, and those not involved in the exams.
I would add the Royal Knights Selection Exam from Black Clover, since it fits those same criteria, being focused on the characters and their circumstances.

The Arc had some of the most tragic villians and it truly made you care for the trauma that all the characters go through. However, I will admit that Yugioh GX 4th season and Battle City are definitly the best arcs within their respective series.

I use the same sleeves as seereax for IRL decks, the look of the classic spiral effect on the back of the cards is amazing!
