My brother sold his business and bought some land (in UK) he built a whole farmhouse cabin and has mini horses, goats, chicken and turkeys. He also has a caravan too that he said we could stay in so this is a great video as it needs revamping too lol. ❤
I was just thinking that!! Mould illness is real and very dangerous. Also people don’t realise that you should only ever remove mould, if you try to kill it it responds by releasing even more spores and mycotoxins everywhere. There’s no way I would ever stay in a caravan that had been mouldy in the past, not after getting sick from a mouldy house. Took me a while to recover from the fibromyalgia it gave me, very disabling and horrid. Never again. Be careful folks! Wear N99 masks.
I really like this video format. I've tried to watch so many videos of camper/caravan renovations because i think it's pretty cool but i keep seeing people just sitting down filming themselves and talking about it and only showing a few clips in-between and it's so annoying. But you guys were able to show the problems it had, before and after and talked through it and cut it into a short video. That's awesome. Y'all did a great job too

I live in Wales and have been kindly gifted an old caravan to live off grid,the current owners have sealed most of the problematic areas, but when i show people photos, they say dont do it.they have installed a woodburner but its next to a leisure battery ? You are a total inspiration, and i can't wait to live my life off grid.

Renovation on the land has been on hold over August, while we've been away with our day job (www.the-wildb-bride.com) currently replying to you from our van in Cornwall, as we were here shooting a wedding yesterday! We've been shooting back to back weddings all over the UK this month, but back next week, as work will slow down a little, so renovation will be in full swing! We've never done anything like this before, but we did self-build a small office in our old back garden during lockdown, so we do feel slightly confident when it comes to starting to build our timber frame cabins :)

If the seal has gone around the awning rail you’re still be getting water ingress into your new wood, I’d check the roof seal as well to make sure they’re still flexible..

Hi love your videos and your project is really interesting. I have had an old touring caravan on my woodland in mid Wales for nearly 20 years and I use it for weekend breaks. I fitted a woodburning stove inside it standing on a concrete paving slab with a chimney pipe through the roof and it is very cosy and warm and the caravan insulation although thin still holds the heat for several hours after the fire has gone out at night. Just a thought if you end up chilly in your tourer this winter before your cabin is built regards James
James, love the idea of adding a wood burning stove, especially as it's literally getting colder by the day! 😂 we were looking at heated blankets last night haha! Thanks for the tip :)
I can't help but to suggest that you look at trying white vinegar in a spray bottle (a gallon of white vinegar is not that expensive in large containers but you may not find a hardware or general purpose store that sell it cheaply that easily) as a natural weedkiller for your driveway. Also, the white furnishings in the caravan look like they'll get dirty really quickly so getting some throws may be a good idea to do pretty soon.

@@CampOutWest I think it's more about moving from another channel to yours With the volume up on my PC the quality was fine. By ear I'd say it sounds like you need to be closer to the mic. (Perhaps it's too much/too little compression) I'm sure you'll get it sorted.
Great job especially at that price. Here in Australia, you would probably only be able to replace the timber walls & maybe the floor for the equivalent in Australian Dollars.
Well lets hope the caravan will stand up to the good old British weather. You might want to think about getting a decent tarp or awning because apart from anything else the boutique interior of the van won't look much like it does now, in 3 months time with it being all white. You will need a space to 'spread out' and do 'things' that is semi protected from the weather.
It's going to be great seeing how we find living in the space full time over this summer, especially with a dog 😀 The caravan actually came with a massive awning which will be great to keep our shoes in etc. We will be getting a shipping container on the land next month, which we will using as a bigger cooking/kitchen space and also put in a little en-suit shower, so then we will just be using the caravan for sleeping/chilling, when we aren't working 🙂
That sounds fantastic, I can't wait to see what you do with this place. And our car looks really bad in the back where our dog travels if we don't clean it so an all white caravan. Good luck with that....

I actually have the same cabinet doors, with the brown wood, I kinda wanted to keep that, but since I'm going for light wood tones, they have to go.. 😂
