The Plymouth Valiant (first appearing in 1960 as simply the Valiant) is an automobile which was manufactured by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Corporation in the United States from 1960 to 1976.

I remember my Valiant 1962 whith 170ci slant six,not easy to drive in winter.Heavy noose and light"ass",nearly 6 rounds from full left to full right at steering wheel.They where a little bit better when the V8 comes in -63.But I´m impressed about this driving :-) wow,I like it!!

I remember spending an evening during one rally event in northern Ontario with Gene Henderson, who was probably the best professional rally driver the US ever had in the 20th century. He was sponsored by Chrysler back in the early-mid 60's, and they even had him doing some European events, probably driving cars similar to this one. He had LOTS of stories about that time. In later years, AMC sponsored him to drive the AMC Eagle in competition, and he won quite a few national-level events with that car. By then , he was also a full-time police officer, so his days of being a full-time rally driver were in the past.
On that event where we met, he was driving an AWD BMW, which he managed to side-clock into a tree, mooshing-in the entire driver's side. He drove that car all the way back home in Michigan. I never met him again...

Berner, the Finnish Plymouth import company had a sizeable rally operation and in 1967 they almost won the Monte Carlo Rally in a 1966 Barracuda Formula S. This car is built in the spirit of the original Berner Valiants, the owner is the son of the company president. Back in the day the 273:s were dynoed at 350 hp with goodies like Racer Brown cams.

Damn! This is awesome. I had this idea for years, build a rallycar of a Plymouth Valiant. ...but some other thing took my priority;-) (kids, house, other hopeless projekts) LOLI have never seen a Valiant rallycar Before, I had no clue it existed. I even counted with big problems with the homologization.But I realize now, that theres no problems!

This car is a replica of the 273 Commando Valiant which ran circles around the factory lightweight Falcons at Monte Carlo.
