Bless you!! Killed me at the end with the knife hand 😫😫, but the video was EXACTLY what I needed for my new 2020 rubicon! I have the Vantrue N4, and the setup is exactly the same! Some of these comments are crazy! If you’ve never hardwired your dashcam before, then you don’t know what your missing. Hardwiring is BEAST compared to plugging in a dashcam and watching it turn on only when your car is on. Stupid. Hardwiring allows you to “set it and forget it.” I have Celllink as well and it’s lasted me over 3 yrs in a previous car I hardwired for my dashcam. It’s amazing because it won’t kills your car’s battery.

My rav4 sat for about 4 days in a parking lot and my dashcam was continuously running. Killed my battery in my car.
I am trying to do this on my 20 JL. You didn’t show what the plastic piece on the A:Pillar looks like once it is removed. Mine has some foam with adhesive behind it. Seems like I will not be able to get a wire through there…unless I remove the adhesive. Not sure if I should do that…any thoughts?
Am i also able to wrap each of the three wires around the existing fuse and stick it back in place? Then for my dash cam, the wires are red (vcc power cable), yellow (acc signal cable) and a black (gnd ground wire). When you only seem to have two wires. Is that too much of a difference?
Question, where exactly are you wiring your ground? When i went to ground 2020 rubicon, I saw sparks when I was torquing the bolt loose, so I stopped. I went to start my car and it was dead. Went to tighten that bolt again, and the car started back up. There are three bolts I believe. I tried to choose the one farthest away (closest to bumper) and my dashcam wouldn’t power on, so I’m assuming it’s not a good ground?
I’ll have to check. It’s been a while since I did it. It didn’t show the location in the video? Pretty sure I just loosened a bolt on the frame where the negative battery post is aka ground
@@EastCoastJeepSRT it shows in the video, but hard to see. You didn’t take the bolt off completely right? Just loosened and slid the wire in and tightened?
I figured out the issue! My battery was discharging energy. Ran up to autozone and the front desk guy checked for me. So I ended up disconnecting my battery to be on the safe side and used the same grounding bolt (far left close to fuse box). Tried using the other two bolts beside it, but they were no good. This method worked like a dream for my Vantrue dashcam! I was even able to secure my rear facing camera in my soft top, I just had to unscrew the bolt and tuck the wires in all the way back.
I feel like this is too much for a dash camera... What does that big box do? Other then give it power? Does it store power so you wont use up the battery in the JL
You pay for what you get. Unfortunately these dashcams are more expensive than others because they’re the top of the line The large “box” is an external battery that provides power for up to 24 hours when the vehicle is off so your camera is still protecting you but it’s not killing your cars battery
No splicing required. The “tap” end is shaped like a fuse and plugs directly into your fuse box. You just have to connect the other exposed end to the wires from your camera/camera battery.
What’s the point of the battery? For parking recording? Why not just wire the dashcam directly to fuse box? I’m interested in doing this and I’m wondering
So you don’t drain your battery? You will ruin your cars battery if you directly connect it. Even using the PMP they offer where it cuts off before your battery drops below a certain voltage is still a bad idea because you’ll miss gaps of time you could’ve captured if you had a Parking Mode battery

I have Aux wires on the inside - no need to use fuse box. Thanks for the video!
Thanks! Very helpful video. Do you have a video for the wiring of the dashcam?
Next is the pypes exhaust. They are out of Hatfield pa
Thanks brother currently setting it up great video start to finish 👌

did you have to splice the power cord to connect it to the fuse tapper, or was the power cord just a "+" and "-" already

Why not use the already placed grommet by the screening wheel firewall?
Easier to go the route I did. Takes a few minutes.

Tapping into Cigarettes fuse is better than the ACC fuse?
Really isn’t a difference.
@@EastCoastJeepSRT thank you 🙏🏽
