999Rabs it affected his lines though, him trying to keep up. McWilliams on the other hand was squared properly for entry and hitting all the corners apex’s, one rider had reserves and the other not so much. But yeah both riders did a fantastic job
@@robertpowers1045 yeah good pick up, I did notice there was an apex or two missed whilst he chased JMcW, but as you say, they did a fantastic job and they're 1000x better than I'd ever be lol!!!

I was at a Jerez trackday on my S1000R feeling pretty pleased with myself a few weeks ago, nailing it up the start finish straight. Then Jeremy McWilliams comes hooning past me on his Superduke pulling a MASSIVE wheelie... scared the 💩out of me. Could get nowhere near him. I might as well have been on a bloody scooter.
He is a god, not many could keep up with him, regardless of the bike :P

I know the feeling, it's so humbling, and awesome all at the same time! I recall a track day years ago in NZ. It was an Aaron Slight fan club day and the man himself was there. We're all going for it and back then I had a sweet little RC-30. I was giving it the beans down the back straight at around 240 km/h...I thought I was the shit!! Then Slighty came past on the NZ Castrol Honda CBR900 Superbike like I was doing 100 km/h...Like you, I got a real fright...truly mind-blowing how fast these guys are/were.

I often come back to this video when I’m forced to be away from riding and it just leaves me with a feeling like I watched a full length movie. Minimal dialogue, great raw track noise, and the hand expression at the end says it all, it really is brilliant
Jeeezus - That was "Che SPETTACOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED every second of it!!!! Mr. McWilliams knows how to ride, but you did a lovely job Mr. Statham keeping up. I wonder if it would have been closer if young Statham would have had his bike really tuned to his liking and had more time around the track before this "match race"......

Take a test drive on a 1290 on the track or a freeway.. the bike itself will do the wheelie at any gear tbh its scarily fast

I would have hoped that they at least made it so that the shifter is not the first thing touching down anymore. The idea of the quick shifter cutting without a proper shift at lean is disconcerting.
Not really dad! The pegs are adjustable and make quite a difference

This bike is a real beast...
There is absolutely no reason for this bike to be build, the previous generation was already insane, insanely good.
The grumble it makes when you start it, the lines you paint on the street, the trust it gives you in hairpins, the endless power and torque there is little to improve.
But in am time of Climate Change shouldn’t we have better things to to then to ride around to burn gas and tires? Shouldn’t we all sell our bikes and look for another hobby?
Im a Climate Activist, I don’t fly, I don’t eat meat and I go by train wherever I can.
But still, I cannot stop. I love the feeling of accelerating out of a corner. I love going up Passo Rolle. And I love talking about bike for hours.
I own a Hypermotard 1100s with full Termignoni and no intend to sell it, I tour the Alps every Year,
I can’t help me but I really like that new Duke.

2019 Super Duke was the most fun to ride bike I have ever ridden. It's amazing if they really made it so much better.
Was at a local motorcycle show recently, and the only bike I actually found interesting was the new SuperDuke 1290R. It looked so much smaller and more compact now, the tail section made the bike look smaller than it really is. Lets hope that the superb street capabilities the older had because it was based on a proper "street" frame are not lost because of the change to a more Rc8 look a like frame. That is my biggest fear, as no factory street fighter is a good street bike like those that are designed around a proper "street" frame.
What is a 'street' frame?
@@ferrumignis a frame that is designed for proper street bikes, like mt09, the old super dukes, duke790/890, monster, cb1000r, ie not a frame that is designed for a superbike that is made to be stable at high speeds but a bit unruly and heavy at slow speeds.
That's the difference between a "streetfighter" and naked sport.

Can’t wait for the full review, mainly a comparison of the handling to the previous gen, with the new/upgraded frame and suspension.
I’m obviously nowhere near this level.
But owned a stock SDGT and now a heavily modded MT10.
And the Yamaha is a superior handling bike of the two I owned, IMO.
But I’m guessing that may have just changed.

I own the 2017 model and the updates to the new one seem very minor to me. Not sure if i should be sad or happy ? Sounds crazy but i would really like alot more power from KTM...
I had the same perception but 'they' all claim it's an almost completely new bike. 'a lot more power', pfffrr... what for? On the street it has plenty, if you really go racing you'd probably get a sportsbike with fairings...
