Eric, with the Airway tools, when you put it into the mouth you insert it with the curve facing the roof of the mouth. When you get it near the back of the mouth you rotate it so the curve faces downward. That is an elementary explanation of how to use it. I was an EMT/Paramedic back in NYC in the early to mid-1970s for 7 years.
I always insert them ‘sideways’, with the curve in the cheek, then start turning it as it starts to pass the tongue. I much prefer, however the semi-rigid tubular type, kinda like a heavy clear plastic tubing, as they can also be used as a naso-pharyngeal airway in case of mouth trauma.
Very comprehensive kit and I agree with the additional items. I would definitely recommend getting some training. I’ve heard people talk about having all the extras in a first aid kit because someone else may have the necessary training but no kit. Glad to see you back.
Please post some more videos! I can't speak for everyone else, but I adore your content and I learn so much from it! Thank you and hope to see a new video soon! Ryan
Nice video and kit. Thanks for commenting about getting proper training for the tourniquet! I see so many TH-camrs talk about tourniquets with no discussion of training or consequences when they are used. One little suggestion, put the instant ice packs in a sealed plastic bag, better yet, double bag them. I have had them leak on two separate occasions and ruin a lot of the supplies in my jump kit. But with all that said, nice video.
Eric, great video and during the video I was taking not to guess what you would add. I was right on everything but the bag of water. Great idea. thanks
Nice kit. There are many situations where this could be useful. A survival situation is more thab being lost in the woods. I'd add a Sam splint if it would fit.
I would recommend amyone, even those in the medical field to go take a basic first aid, cpr, and a critical care(open wounds type) class. Most are around 100 USD or less and are around an afternoon.
Having just built my own trauma kit for home I was interested to see what I might add/take away. Thankfully, I'm not to far off the equipment I already know how to use. I might need some training on some of the other stuff. Great to see you posting again. I've always loved your content - constant food for thought for those of us wanting to be more prepared.
Eric, those airways are typically used in the hospital now because if you oral pharyngeal airway (opa) on a semi conscious person they will gag an likely vomit a great alternative is nasal pharyngeal airway which doesn't stimulate the gag reflex
That's a decent trauma bag, I could add some stuff but overall the quality seems good it would be good for a EMT to keep in their car for those times when you are the closest help.
Love your vids. Can you do a pet first aid kit? I’ve never thought of it before , but my boy recently got impaled while jumping through the woods. Luckily he didn’t bleed and was acting OK. I took him to the emergency vet and it actually was pretty bad. He’s OK now. His normal spunky self. It got me to thinking I should probably think about getting some kind of pet first aid kit. would love to see a video on that. Thanks for your informative videos. I love it when you hit the ferro rod and slow Mo ha ha
One thing to think of if you don't know how to use something in your kit, don't use but there may be a chance that somebody may show up that will know how to use it. So always good to have in your kit. Good Vid.
Great review as always! Recalling when the other half was stuck on the couch with a wound-vac, I'm surprised there aren't a couple chest seals in the kit too.
Advanced care paramedic from from Ontario great kit, but I would highly suggest getting some training on how to use this equipment perhaps taking an EMT class or other type of first aid and CPR training to know how to use this gear
Hey, little off topic but according to the many videos about survival kits you seem to know what you're talking about. But I can't find a video where you put together your own pocket kit. What about making a vid on your take on the Altoids tin kit? Would be great to see what you would put together according to your knowledge!
It’s wise to have a good FAK at home. Just as a matter of common sense, you’re likely to be hurt at home because that’s where you are most of the time. And it seems clear that societal problems are likely to confine us to our homes rather than lead to our flight. The next-level things in this kit are exactly the sorts of things to have at home. And this could be brought along in a vehicle too.
The reason they don't contain the tourniquet is it does a lot of tissue damage even if you know what you are doing. That is why it contains a lot of different things that can also be used to slow down bleeding without doing much more damage. When you aren't in a war or earthquake zone you actually don't need one. The only other place i would bring a tourniquet is in the middle of nowhere where first responders are over 40 minutes away. I would have added an extra large flexibel splint for arms and legs. For those without proper training. For those with traning suturing, several other surgical instruments in addition to the Köcher and scissors it already contains. And due to my own preference classic Mayo-tubes in place of the provided tubes to secure airways. I wouldn't risk proper intubation due to my arthritis i would probably end up breaking the front teeth of the victim.
I need to get a tag that says only to take my blood pressure on my wrist or leg. I have had injuries to both arms which have left me with tender arms, taking my blood pressure via my arms causes me a lot of pain which gives bad readings.
Actually, 95% of the world do not need to worry about gunshot wounds to the chest on a day to day basis outside of war zones - the Israeli bandages might prove useful though.
lol, no major pain killers or norcan. Kinda a fail honestly, you could probably just build this all yourself for less than 150ish bucks. Then get some real painkillers in there. That's what I do for mine. I'd love to get morphine injections but.... "Muh DEA regulations". And no tourniquet or major trauma wound stuff like quickclot is.... Really lame.
Hi Eric, and everyone else ...... You don't TOUCH the colourful airways ever!! None of us are qualified, so hands off, and stay in your lane !! Unless you can afford to be sued in to dust by a cranky victims family !!
That red/black "thing" is a finger splint
The flashlight is to check eye dilatation
You are 100% correct Eric! Training is absolutely essential! Good to see you back brother! Looking forward to future videos!
Appreciate it!

a interesting device, you never see them here in Germany
An OPA should be inserted with the curve toward the ear then rotated down with the curve of the tongue while continuing insertion.
Very comprehensive kit and I agree with the additional items. I would definitely recommend getting some training. I’ve heard people talk about having all the extras in a first aid kit because someone else may have the necessary training but no kit. Glad to see you back.

You're getting funnier and better at your presentation every time...I always look forward to your content, thank you!
Welcome back!
I would like to see you use a camping vest as a survival kit

Wow. Im a brand new subscriber and believed I'd only have videos already uploaded to enjoy. Since it's been month's since your last upload. Nice!
Thanks for subbing
My definition of a good first aid kit
The orange pad is a finger splint. As a first responder I have that bags much bigger brother and I love it.
Welcome back Eric. This kit looks like a very good purchase but as others have said, some training in its uses would be a sound idea.
Welcome back Eric missed you man

OMG. waited so long for a new video. here we go!

The middle of the combin pads is made of Citroen or some other absorbent material

Hi Eric
Bon retour
Welcome back
Hello from France
Great review as always! Recalling when the other half was stuck on the couch with a wound-vac, I'm surprised there aren't a couple chest seals in the kit too.
Advanced care paramedic from from Ontario great kit, but I would highly suggest getting some training on how to use this equipment perhaps taking an EMT class or other type of first aid and CPR training to know how to use this gear
Please review more pre made survival kits.
In progress.
Hi Eric, thanks for the great review. Missed you!
I wonder if those airway gadgets would be something that would be used on someone who has seizures/ epileptics.
very good set, ideal size to have in the car
Super cool kit

I’d also probably add Sam splint some aspirin and possibly if you can get your hands on it Narcan
Thank you for the great content!
I would like a video commenting on clothes in a B.O.B considering various biomes.👍
Thanks. Really interesting!
The orange 🍊 rectangle thing is a finger splint.
Nice
No sutures?
Great vid!
We missed you💪
That is so right the police department uses it to find out how intoxicated the driver is on a DUI traffic stop
Is there an ETA on the Altoid kit you're gonna make ?
I like it
Érdekes videó lett!😀👍

Thanks for these reviews, always useful info. Congrats on the engagement. Last video she was still your girlfriend, right? Stay safe guys.🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
Good to see back. At least take an basic EMT course.
Definitely designed for an EMT or Paramedic. Find a stop the bleed training near you for tourniquet training.
I've done tourniquet training. The rest of the stuff, not yet.
The reason they don't contain the tourniquet is it does a lot of tissue damage even if you know what you are doing. Hemostatic gauze and an Israeli bandage would be great additions to this.
Nice kit just needs some blood stop
How's your son
Be good to get your dad on for some first aid practical advive. Couple of mins on any relevant gadget.
I would also add a couple of vented chest seals to the kit. And 2 Israeli bandages.
Actually, 95% of the world do not need to worry about gunshot wounds to the chest on a day to day basis outside of war zones - the Israeli bandages might prove useful though.
finger splint
Please get some training you can do more than you think with the kit. Finger splint.

Very nice for $140!
Hi Eric, and everyone else ......
You don't TOUCH the colourful airways ever!! None of us are qualified, so hands off, and stay in your lane !!
Unless you can afford to be sued in to dust by a cranky victims family !!
I already used them on 6 different people in the last week. Uh oh!
As a medic for 32 years and still going..Do you know how hard it is to prove negligence in a court? Lol.
US has it backwards! Here in Germany, you are in the clear when you try to help.
You will get sued for not helping. Unterlassene Hilfeleistung
