yeah lol. Whenever I sell a car, I leave the radio off and ask if they want to have the windows up or down so they can hear everything.

In my younger years I dealt with a few dishonest sellers and basically got scammed admittedly because of my own stupidity,all I can say is anybody will be lucky if they find an honest seller on Facebook,but I just don't get how people can purposely scam people and live with theirselves
Last saturday i bought a car and the bloke was actually honest. Genuinely made my week
I got an absolute beast of a civic off marketplace recently for cheap. Gotta get a good gauge of who they are and ask the right questions and remember the answers if they switch up.
I don't use social media, but i do have an empty fb for events and group chats. A few months ago, i got some courage together, and was going to see and buy a honda grom on my own as everyone was busy. Well, the guy replied he won't sell to me because it's an empty profile. I offered cash, in person. Like, i think i've got a bit more to be wary of....
Anyway it put me off marketplace for good and for ever.
I'm honest as fuck with my cars that I sell. Last old volvo I had, I gave every buyer a solid list of everything that I had done on it, and everything that needed doing. I also mentioned all the quirks and tricks and gave a detailed description of my history with the car. Fucking gave em everything so they wouldn't worry about being scammed. But not a single person wanted to buy it.
To be completely honest it ended with me just stopping to give a fuck about telling that same story over and over again to different buyers, and what do you know. Someone bought it. I didn't lie or anything, I just didn't tell them anything about the car unless asked. I really like being honest so the buyer knows if it's either a shit car or a good car. But the problem is that most people who buy cars second hand aren't mechanically endowed, so if you tell em that there is a service light, or that the rear brakes need a bit cleaning+ grease they'll refuse to buy the car. They don't want to buy a car that has some random flaws in it that they have no clue how to adress.
These people would rather have you sell them a car running on 3 cylinders with a slipping clutch just as long as they don't know about it. Than buying a good honest car that they've been told needs new ball joints.

Usually with vehicles there’s a ulterior motive
Important to do your rego checks and PPRS checks first and foremost BEFORE viewing car.
I hate buying or selling cars privately in Aus, it always feels so dirty. Either theyre trying to fuck you by selling you a bricked shit box or they think youre selling a brick
