Thanks for all the positive feedback! Let it know if you have any tips as well! I like to try out many things before the F1 season starts. I can hopefully do two more videos before then. Which ones would you like to see?
I really like the new angles which werent't available in the TV-Feed. I also enjoyed the shots from above to better understand what happened. I also like onboards shots [from all cars which are involved in the crash], which wheren’t shown in the TV-Feed [like in your video about Kubicas crash] because you get a better understanding about the crash. Here are some ideas, I don't know if they are good or not: - Helicopter-shots from high above - Maybe include some stationary CCTV-footage to create the insight of the stewards - Maybe include the track-map at some point of the video [where did the accident take place?] - A custom thumbnail like at your video about Kubica' accident Some suggestions: - Zanardi Crash in Spa 1993 [there is an alternative angle - ZANARDI BELGIAN GP 1993 PRACTICE CRASH alternative angle] - Mika Häkkinen crash in Australia 1995 - Peter Dumbreck famous accident in Le Mans 1999 - Zanardi Crash 2001 [there is also an alternative angle - 2001 CART Zanardi's crash at Lausitzring (CCTV Footage) + the beginning of the crash is shown in the documentary "Alex Zanardi - Life Goes On", timemarks: 00:11 and 16:00] - Alan McNish Crash in Japan 2002 - Webbers/Alonsos Crashes in Brazil 2003 - Felipe Massa crash in Hungary 2009 - Bianchis Crash in Japan 2014 [I think the beginning of his fatal crash must look like Jenson Button's crash in Brazil 2003 ↦ when he lost control] - Grosjean’s crash in Russia 2015 - Sainz's crash in Russia 2015 I have always wondered how these crashes looked like from the onboard-perspective.
Awesome video, now it is easy to understand geometry of whole crash. Also the onboard camera was brutal. Thanx for this video. This is now 2nd crash from Twitter poll you done. the other two are Lauda in 1976 German Gp and Florsch in Macau. My favourite for next video is Macau one. That was the most brutal crash in street circuit in recent time.
Guy, you had improved SO MUCH since your first video, you really managed to redo the accident or we show EVERYTHING, BUT EVERYTHING about the accident, so congratulations CrashAlong
Excellent, and so much improvements since first Video! Congratulations! For me it could have bit more informations about forces but for Amateur-viewers very nice Videos.
I didn't know where to post this, but after horrible Lynn accident i feel Crashalog can provide us awesome reconstruction because FE release only the CCTV footage and there was bunch of amateur footage of aftermath.
'You're flying and you're bouncing around and you see the sky, you see the ground you see the sky and you know exactly where you are and you keep moving, moving you want to stop' -Fernando Alonso after his nasty crash at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix with Esteban Gutierrez.
It's unbelievable just how much detail you put into these reconstructions. Even the things that weren't completely visible on TV (such as Alonso's further rolls in the gravel; or how exactly Grosjean's car broke apart) are portrayed in a very realistic way and, compared with the real footage, look very accurate. Do you just work with the available world feed angles of the crashes or do you have access to more data?
Amazing work👍🏻 I always wanted to know, how the car went and flipped through the gravel (after the barrell roll) you can’t see it on the live footage so thanks👍🏻
Thanks to this simulation, we can see some fragments of the accident that we couldn´t see in live because of the dust lifted after the car dig in it. Like how the second roll start with the back of the car and finished with the car on his side and more to the left than when started to roll. Also, some suggestions for the future: SPA 2012 GP Crash, Webber backflip in Europe (Valencia) 2010 or Alonso in Interlagos 2003.
This is amazing, how did you piece together the parts off camera??? Did you use data of some sort or just guess? Either way, nice to see what happened when the camera couldn't keep up on the live feed!
No data other than available footage right until the last visible frames. A grandstand video (th-cam.com/video/n9Gb6Qm6f0I/w-d-xo.html) uncovering the motion a bit more. But there is also some science involved, for example conservation of (angular) momentum etc. does constrain the way the car could have gone. So let's call it an educated guess ;)
@@Crashalong amazing! Great job. In a way it was a bit like de la Rosa's crash at Monza in 2001 I think it was. Edit: 2000 th-cam.com/video/acgJLuWucbo/w-d-xo.html
