I have CZ and I went bought a EAA Witness and I got to say EAA Witness is equal or better than the CZ ... if you can get your hand on one of them, get it. You will not be disappointed.
Good video. I own the EAA Witness--full size, small frame--which has more to do with the size of the magazine than the pistol itself. It is an excellent gun. It is probably the most accurate shooter I own. Poor man's Sig P-210? It just might be. The CZ is not a superior pistol in any way. Maybe they are equal, but I got my Witness for just under 300 (I think; it has been a while). Consequently, the value is amazing. You have to shoot one to appreciate the whole thing: comfortable in the hand, hefty, low-recoil, completely reliable.
The witness is definitely a better value. Nothing against CZ75s, I love them, but as you know they are copied and/or cloned all over the world. The witness isn't a direct clone of the CZ, (the earlier Tanfoglios were more of a clone), since most parts will not interchange. Many people, myself included, consider the changes Tanfoglio made to be improvements over the CZ75 design.
The CZ75B SA should be compared with the EAA / Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match, that is SA only as well, has the adjustment screw, flat trigger, and is in the same price range (but is a match-grade pistol, handfitted by a gunsmit, with fit, finish and trigger break that are in another league in respect with the Czech competitor).

Don't know about the EAA version but I have a older Tanfoglio TZ-75 with slide mounted decocker/safety and CZ-75B. Virtually no difference. I even bought a Tristar L-120. Again virtually identical. The CZ-75 and it's Italian and personal experience, Turkish copies all are top notch. A true evolution of the Browning Hi Power without real deviation from its lines and you might say it's the improved version. Internal slide rails and run the whole length of the slide/frame, improves accuracy via free play elimination. General magazine disconnect removal. While FN did per contract per nation upon request did make variations of the Hi Power without them, the usual models came with them and presence interferred with reliability and trigger pull. Most contemporaries didn't even come with it and many removed it, relying on training regarding carry Capacity improved. More calibers available if 9x19mm for whatever reason is not needed or wanted in the Italian versions If you absolutely have to have polymer framed, EAA has you covered. SAR as well
Cosmetically, I like the EAA witness more. On the 75 series, the slide tapers towards the muzzle. This reminds me of a Makarov. The CZ is going to have more after market parts.

Rebekah-Chris S-K look at the EAA/Tanfoglio Witness Stock 2. It’s stainless. It also has all kinds of crazy upgrades. Lots of people use it in competition. They make a few other stainless Witnesses. They also come in 10mm, .45ACP, .40S&W, and .38 Super.
I have 2 and they LITERALLY shoot ANYTHING you load.... As for what is best tho - couldn't tell you....Never had a single issue with anything tho and I've tried a bunch of cheap and midgrade ammo. Never 1 issue tho in ANY FORM. NO LIE.
There is one thing that makes me unsure about the Witness. Doesn't its safety act as only a safety?(no decocker) Cause that's a pretty major yikes to me. A DA/SA that can't reasonably use the DA function? What's the point then?
Money's no object? I'll take my CZ. If I'm just needing more guns (since I already have CZ) and/or money is tight? Going to scoop up as many Witnesses as I can. Both are pretty damn good.
Love CZ's and CZ'clones. I have three CZ's but I would not hesitate in getting a Tanfoglio ...Italy has been making guns longer than our Country has been in existence so they know wtf they are doing.
Dunhams has a new website that you can order a wide variety of guns that they don't carry in store...including CZ just about anything. I myself haven't ordered anything YET....but in time.
I have the CZ75 SP01 Tactical and have put around 2,000 rounds through it. The Witsness looks good, but the CZ has many years and lots of rounds of history to it. Not worth saving @200 on a gun that you will keep for a long time. I also have the CZ75D Compact PCR. The SP01 has the rail.
CZ/EAA/Canik, all the same. Like Dr. Atwater would say, "They're a good, solid gun". Out of the box, competition guns, all . I'd rather save the money for ammo.
Just One Problem! The Witness Although Similar in appearance- is Not a Cz Clone! The Internals Are Quite Different Than That of a CZ!. & As for The Groups, My Witness Steel 45acp Has Never in over 7 Years Has Never Shot that Shitty of a Grouping!.. Just sayin!.
Forgetting the tons of Turkish clones of the Italian clone. I run CZ-75 SP01 and the SAR B6P. The CZs trigger is tons better, but the SAR is superlight. I love them both, but the SP01 is twice the price. The CZ would be a snap to sell, the SAR would not.
Chris Blake I think the cz is a better gun stock. Witness may be better for carry, but it also doesn't have a reputation that can compare. That do over would be the sp01
The funny thing is that much of the reputation CZ has is due to the clones. Back when to import an original CZ75 in the US was almost impossible, people bought a TZ75 and tought "if the clone is that good, the original must be stellar!". Really the original had pretty crappy fit and finish and the typical east-european quality control of those days. From then, Tanfoglio introduced the innovations into the design (firing pin block, decocker, mutlicaliber, race guns, polymer frame...) and CZ followed.
Owning a EAA is the equivalent of proudly flaunting a fake Rolex in comparison. Save an additional $50, & simply buy a Hi Point, or a Taurus. With some simple upgrades (TFX Pro sights, LOK G-10 ultra thin, checkered grips, & (with, or without) a simple trigger upgrade the CZ 75 B is one of the finest firearms ever made.
Reload Hawaii, I find it hard to agree. The EEA Witness reminds me of a fat Italian, couch potato wife, whereas the timeless CZ reflects a gorgeous, Czech mistress.
If it was about a reliability you would be shooting a CZ... less reported problems HANDS DOWN! glocks are good don't get me twisted....but a CZ is GREAT! BUY ONE and you'll NEVER SELL IT- PERIOD!

I saw a witness eaa at a pawn shop and was very impressed with fit and finish this is a very pretty handgun. I think it will soon be my next purchase.

The safety, is it a trigger lock or hammer block like the pk380 where you can still pull the trigger and drop the hammer but the pin is blocked?
