I’ve reached out to a company that makes an “all in one” WiFi adapter for bm3. They claim it works. I will buy one and make a video on that for you guys, potentially making this entire process even easier. Stay tuned! (Literally) 🤪
The OBD Agent is suuuper easy, bro. All you do is put the software on an sdcard, plug it into a RBPi, plug the RBPi into the obd2, and you’re done. Set it and forget it, and open the app whenever you want to log, adjust tune, everything.
That sounds like a great idea. I’ve noticed that Android users usually go with MHD and Apple users usually go with BM3. Having Apple everything, I went with BM3 & made a wi-Fi adapter.

I have never tuned before so I am wondering why you picked Boot over something like MHD? I would love to hear your comments about this. Thank you so much.
I briefly went over this in the video but to summarize: I’ve been using bootmod3 for years. I’m at a point where I trust their tunes the most simply because I have used them the most. Their track record speaks for itself and their customer service is incredible. This is all based on my personal experience.

Cool video. I have an idea how bout you buy an android headunit screen that way you can run bootmod from that directly and still maintain factory functions as well! Basically have an android operating system built-in
If you don’t buy the bundle, you can only flash stage1. You also do not have access to transmission flashes (if they are available for your car) buy the bundle, you get everything
Thic F30 For my FBO/PS2 M235i. Just had the HPFP upgraded to run full e85. Cary and a friend of mine have been working on it for the last 2 weeks. Lots of logging was done this week but I think it’s about 90% finished now.
Thic F30 It’s more than just flashing any OTS map, there is a lot of attention to detail. I’m extremely happy with the process and I will be with my friend tomorrow morning to test drive the car since the work started. I’m pretty happy with the results so far
If I had to take a wild guess, Thic is in healthcare. I just get that vibe from him. But, we’ll never know because, that’s his private life and none of our beeswax😜
but bootmod3 has an app for android long time ago? I thouth all it takes is just to buy obd cable and adapter from obd to your android, like you did with ur iphone. And flash a car using their app (of course license should be purchased) Am i wrong? Never understand why you need this obd agents? Why not just go like you, obd cable>adapter to android>phone itself (android)
This is app based. Raspberry is web based. App is ten times better than logging into a website everytime. But yes you are correct, the raspberry is old news.
@@ThicWhips It works with the phone app. I have it running in my F30. Unless the iPhone app is different than Android. I'll try to link a video. The Pi basically replaces the protuningfreaks wifi module.
nm... I see what you're saying now, I just went back and watched your video again. Again, I use an android phone, so the app is slightly different. My login and password is saved on my Bootmod app, so logging in is simple. Just flick the wifi hotspot toggle on, and I connect.

My friend just dynod his car with the exact same bolt ons as me, and mhd stage 2. His car put down 50 less whp on the same dynojet. 😉

I think there are other ways to mirror your tablet or phones to your idrive without replacing the entire screen.

So I’m adding Bm to my x3m. Is it always best to flash car with laptop first. But I can do any tweaks or remove it with phone

You can get this to work with wifi if you buy a Raspberry Pi 3. $30 and you can keep it in your car to datalog with your phone.

D PTF is getting rid of the raspberry pi based solution, in favor of this new directly connecting iPhone and android app.
