When I got tricked into jumping thinking I was going to speak for the first time, I burst out laughing and immediately thought, "This is gonna be a Gooooood Game."
Same bro!
It was a "Gooooood Game."
first time I played portal 2 only
"Remember! You're looking for a gun that makes HOLES! Not bullet holes... but... don't worry, you'll figure it out! SERIOUSLY DO HOLD ON THIS TIME."
Seriously *do* hold on this time*.
*proceeds to shove you into a fucking wall*
And whose fault do you think it's going to be, when the Management comes down here and finds Ten-thousand flipping vegetables!?

Aw crap I already ate them.
Somehow it took me 7 years to realize what he meant by vegetables lol

Portal 2 is more of an interactive movie than a Game.
And i love it.
oh my god i bet you feel so incredibly wrong now
@@mattvii9228 What do you mean?
because 99% of ps4 games are like this. and portal is nowhere near an interactive movie outside of the opening chapter
@@mattvii9228 OP's comment was made approximately 2 years after the game came out.
@@RomanSnow oof
1:08 All reactor core safeguards are now non-functional. Please prepare for reactor core meltdown
I just realized something.
The intercom voice says there's a reactor core meltdown, but we never see it, and it's never mentioned again. Then, later on long after we beat GLaDOS with Wheatley, only for him to go crazy and pummel us into old aperture, GLaDOS(in a potato) tells us out of nowhere that the entire facility is going to blow unless she's back in charge. And then the place blowing up becomes a reoccurring theme throughout the rest of the game. When you think about it, the reactor meltdown has been sticking around throughout the game longer than we think since the building nearing self destruction could very much be a result of that and GLaDOS stopped it when we reactivated her.
....ok ok so maybe it's not that much of a mindblow, but in the words of Wheatley, "that's one mystery solved."
@@arcadepunk2628 Only the safeguards were non-functional though and the intercom only says prepare
Prepare, that's all they're saying. Prepare.
Alright close enough!
2:32 when "reconstructing science" starts playing, it gives me chills.
It's Wheatley's leitmotif, pretty much. It's in at least 3 other songs
@@penisparkerdeviloflamps7979 wheatley's leitmotif is i am not a moron, this is more like the game itself's leitmotif
oh god 4 years
That’s Wheatley’s leitmotif
that's not reconstructing science
Who else feels this one theme captures like the entirety of Portal 2?
Very true. Even so early in the game we can already hear Wheatley's boss theme when he rams you into the wall.
I believe this track actually has many, if not all, of the major motifs throughout the game woven into it.
That's just how portals soundtrack is
@@庫倫亞利克 Wheatley boss theme is basicly a mix of all tracks
@@lt.tactical7917 I agree, but when I said Wheatley's theme I meant specifically the first few notes of "Your Precious Moon." The appearance of these notes, I believe, marks Wheatley's inherent insanity even in the early phase of the game, and the player should feel there's something wrong with him the moment he casually “manuel override” the wall with the cabin you're in.
The part from 2:48 onward where the synthesized notes really kick into high gear is the best part, in my opinion.
HOOOOLD UP [CAR SCREECH] YOUR PRECIOUS MOON LETIMOTIF RIGHT THERE
no lmao it is the start then 1:43
actually it starts at 1:10
Good news: that is NOT a docking station.
Good part starts at 0:00-3:37
If GLaDOS was actually that big in the game, that would be more terrifying.
+DarkWo1f997 Yes
+Michael Rupp (Erupp-XD) It makes me kinda wish that she WAS that big in-game
+Michael Rupp (Erupp-XD) but then Wheatley would turn into Godzilla once he gets in that body.
Good >:D
+Michael Rupp (Erupp-XD)
Wheatzilla.
2:30 I think this part is Wheatley's leitmotif and nobody can convince me otherwise. It plays pretty much everywhere he's important.
yes, clearly this set of notes is wheatley's theme
i mean it's even the basis for "i am not a moron"
StrongAdel + “your precious moon” too!
it is
yep :D (also love your Homestuck pfp :> )
I thought 2:12 was his leitmotif.
If somebody asked, last time you checked, everyone was still alive, alright!?
If somebody asks, and no-one's gonna ask, but if somebody asks, say that last time you checked, everyone seemed pretty much alive.
Your pfp is scaring me
RaresGhe it’s doing as it’s intended
I dub the part of the song at 2:50 “the song that will play when Wheatley slams your chamber into a wall a few times”
Or "The Song That Will Play When the Facility is About to Explode and Wheatley is Mocking you Looking at The Moon, Which Turns out to be the Only Thing That Saves you"
I know I'm probably gonna get wooooshed but these songs are called "I'm not a moron" and "your precious moon"
@@PebsBeans r/closeenough
I'm gonna put a comment here so I can come back sometime.
is this an asgore reference
Best game ever. Case Closed.
Amen.
It's a great game but everyone has a game they consider to be the best as an example I would say uncharted 2
*Cough*Half-life 2*Cough*
Once again opinions strike true ( not gonna lie though I freakin love hale life 2 )
Even more opinions
Fun fact:
The beat starting at 1:08 is actually just the beat to Wheatley Science but sped up.
Wheatley's entire musical schtick is that it all sounds like alarms, and I can fully see why Valve chose to do this.
It’s actually quite genius when comparing it to glados general theme as well. Glados is well organized and incredibly intelligent. And most of the music that’s most commonly attached to her has a lot of orchestral instruments. Which requires order to sound good. While Wheatley is literally so dense that he has his own gravitational pull(quite literally). He doesn’t know how to run a facility. So it would make sense for most of his songs would have alarms and shit like that. I hope this makes sense.
@@andoid-ve9qxyou can really hear it in “The Part Where He Kills You”. The alarms kick in, something is wrong. Then they get louder. Wheatley is attempting to kill you. Then they speed up. You need to *run.*
it shoots holes!... not bullet holes!
They're.... well, you'll see.
Seriously, grab to something this time!
I'm about to perform... a manual override... on this wall... could get a bit technical...
* Dissapointed *
The real joke would be if you found an actually gun
Kinda late but, this part was always weird to me because the line says:
"Remember! You're looking for a gun that makes holes. Not bullet holes, but-- well, you'll figure it out"
He says "Remember!" as if he's talked about it before but, that's the first time he mentioned it. I've always thought there was a line missing there.
...Good news! That is definitely _not_ a docking station! So, one mystery solved.
Hands down, best game ever. No exceptions.
Isaac Culver I'd say it'd be right under Portal 2.
Like if Portal 2 was 100.00% good and Undertale was 99.99% good.
No,
Portal 2:100.00% good
Undertale: 99.99% good
+Gay Jesus This game still has nothing on Half-Life 2.
IonSquared Nah. Portal 2 is better.
+Gay Jesus I respect your opinion but humbly disagree. For me, Portal 2 is a top 50 game; Half-Life 2 is my favorite game of all time. But opinions gonna opinion! They're quite different beasts anyhow and both extraordinary.
Absolutely love music with "Oh shit" or "shit just got real" moments like 1:08 please give me more
***** xD
Amazing profile picture is majestic
Captain Kush the "oh shit" or "shit just got real" moment fits better with 2:48, 1:08 is more like "I have no clue what the hell is happening o_O (but this just my opinion though)
I think both
Captain Kush Is this a docking station? Alright, this is NOT a docking station.
1:08 when you realize its your moms birthday and you forgot to buy her something
When it's ur mom's birthday but you forgot.
Totally acurate
Today is my mom's birthday, thanks for the reminder
And who do you think who‘s fault it gonna be when the family comes down and finds a few worried family members

If Portal 3 was a thing, I would love it to revolve more about Rattman. Chell has managed to finally escape Aperture Science, but without an actual aim to achieve, she is confused on what to do next.
It's only within the corn field she is standing does a button emerge from the ground, after pressing the button a ramp collapses into the ground revealing a hidden bunker. A lair of Rattman's, now abandoned, but left messages guides Chell through the exterior state of Aperture Science, decaying and forgotten, to Rattman himself, of whom has taken refuge in the Companion Cube Storage Room. The only room within the Aperture Science facility that GLaDOS can't get too. Companion Cubes were fitted with GPS trackers to track test subjects in case the facility was left in a post apocalyptic state. Rattman used the storage room's mainframe to track your every move when with a Companion Cube.
My thinking for the main thriving point for the story is that Rattman knows of a hidden feature within GLaDOS that he is afraid she will soon discover. I don't know what this could be, I haven't thought of it yet.
MazeLink Networks a
Maybe that 'hidden feature' is the ability to become fully mobile and escape the facility? That'd be some Cloverfield shit right there.
Well, it would be kinda weird to see GLaDOS just flying around
Wow, I really like that idea! Do you think I could use it in a story?
did rattman not die
2:48 I like the song just for that part.
+InvaderSHQCK - Same
That part sounds like Your Precious Moon

I have to say this is one of the best moments I've seen in a videogame.
I saw it in a lot of videos, but it wasn't until I played it some time ago when I realized how much the human responses and emotions play in this scene without even noticing!
When he was crashing my room all over the place, my instant response was to move away from the giant hole, and stay in the closet. I didn't even try to look around!
The second time I played I tried to look a bit around, but still put a distance between me and the main hole in the front part.
It's just amazing! I replay it from time to time, it's one of my favourite scenes.
Zilkenian Funny it is, that in my case, everytime y play the game, my first response in this scene is to move myself up to de edge of the hole, and looking at everything arround. And i'm not even a risky person, all the way arround! XD
first time i was so panicked, i did exactly what you did lol
second time? my face was all the way in the hole as i cringed of property damage

0:06 good morning you have been suspension for nine nine nine nine nine, nine ni- this courtesy call is to inform you that all members of the enrichment center should vacate the facility immediately.
Portal 2 is undeniably one of the greatest video games of all time. The game offers so much: story, characters, voice acting, humor, graphics, atmosphere, and gameplay (there’s literally not a single video game I can think of with a better and more linear learning curve and pacing). MASTERPIECE!!!
I love this because when you enter the facility the track remises of Portal's soundtrack and it was so exciting and nostalgic the first time.

Yes, the best part of the song! Just amazing!
I loved it so much because it was like the build up to "OMG I'M ABOUT TO START PORTAL 2!!!" first time I played it. And Wheatly's line about the gun that "shoots holes" lol
This soundtrack foreshadows nearly the whole game because you can hear samples of the music of the spheres referencing old aperture and samples of I am not a moron supposedly foreshadowing Wheatley’s betrayal and also the part where he kills you and at the end you can hear reconstructing science which is played when leaving aperture before Cara Mia Addio

I'm about to perform... a manual override... on this wall.
Easily the most memorable intro level for any game of all time and always will be
"Hello, and good morning. You have been in suspension for 9,9,9,9,9..."
"Hello? Can you hear me? Can you open the door for me?"
"Hello?"
"Hmm, maybe Spanish."
"Hola, amigo! Co-- no maybe not..."
"No, it's okay, it's not like theres 10000 other bloody test subjects begging for me to help them escape! Its not like the place is about to EXPLODE!"
"Its fair-- fairly urgent so could you just please open the door!"
"AHH! You look terr-- good, looking good!"
"Are you okay, are you-- don't answer that, im sure youre fine. There plenty of time to recover, just take it slow."
Announcer: "Prepare for emergency evacuation."
Wheatley: "Prepare! That's all they're saying, prepare."
"Now, most people have cognitive deterioration after a few months in suspension, you have been under for... quite alot longer so you MAY have a minor case of serious brain damage."
2:48 is legitimately one of the hardest drops in any piece of musical fiction ever
