Finally! Someone talked about how to deal with the new door thickness - I never thought to move the molding! Thank you!
Adorable! I love it! Our house was built in 1949, the doors are nice with glass knobs, but very dated, this is a great idea! Thank you!
Thanks for this. I woke up this morning thinking we could probably find a way to make our ugly doors attractive. I’m looking for a more modern style, but your project gives me courage !
YES!! JUST TOTALLY BEAUTIFUL, AND AWESOME.
I am so excited try this out. Super stoked this will cover the hole in the kids door 🤣
Yes! I should have showed the holes in my boys bedroom door🤪
Such a great idea! Love this look! Thank you!
Wonderful job, well done!! 👍
Hi i love this design . Just wondered did you do both sides of the door? Thanks
All my doors are hideous the previous family painted them this weird salmon color and painted over all the hardware ugh this video gives me hope. They came out amazing 💜
😱 good luck with those 🙏
They look beautiful 😍!I will definitely try something on my ugly looking doors!
Great for inspiration! I'm thinking: if your existing panels are thick enough you could also have sanded them down to then run a surface mill over your door. That would save time and materials ☺️
But you'd have to know for sure your panels are thick enough.
Great job..you explained everything perfectly..I have 4 doors on my hit list...thank you very much
Yes! Love it! Thank you for a great idea and video, I've always wanted to upgrade our doors and looks like we can do this :)
You can do it!
Thanks Heather. I'm going yo try it
Love it 😊
Very helpful.Thank you!
Good idea ❤ thanks for sharing
Love it
pin nailing soooo much faster putty over sand and whala!! but if you have that much time..hope glue doesn't come loose during rainy days
Genius..
Please wear a mask when cutting or sanding MDF. The dust contains formaldehyde.
Thanks for this video, on another note if someone wants to buy new doors in near future I suggest Dako as a brand.
Like this am try it
Great video! How did you get the door knob hole in the planks?
I used a hole saw attachment on my drill.
They are fabulous. Can I ask did you do the plywood MdF only on one side?
Yes I did it on the side that was most visible
You should proud to yourself. Very tidy job. Keep it up girl. Good luck 👌✌️👍
So I did this and unfortunately my door jams do not tap off like yours does. The door is now too thick to close. Any ideas?
Did you cover both side of the door?
No just the one that faces out of the room.
How many sheets of plywood you had to buy?
3
Can i reattached the old door handles
You sure can.
Did you reuse the hinges?
Yep
I bought a pack of 20 gold hinges from B&Q on sale for £5. I was made up, Im in UK though so not sure if you have that store were you are. I’m changing out the handles for gold too and painting the doors. I’m renting so had to get permission from landlord first but he was fine with it. So happy as the doors are horrible and are orange with fake wood.
How come you only did one side of the door? Wouldn’t this look weird?
Because we only see one side of the door for the most part. It really wasn't that noticable, but you could certainly do both sides.
You have the same name as my mom first and las
Twinsies!!!!🤗
I hate this look because the black line it leaves because of the gaps left but if you didn't do that it would just look like a flat door again lol. Ppl just do the modern shaker style you use alot less material and it be cheaper and look way better in the end in my opinion.
Interestingly i liked the black lines, thought it added a bit of character as though intentional. Though I get the point about material use. But hey if you can afford it then go for it!
Haha yeah that face
