    That did indeed look just like a planet. I did almost the same just before Christmas with some old CDs. As you say it was a little on the thin side so I glued 3 CDs together and they turned out perfick, well I think so. Now all the family has one each. I took a few to a Christmas Bazaar a few weeks ago and they all sold. Now I have a few more to make as people asked if I could make more. Keep up the brilliant work Pam as I always look forward to seeing your projects. You are costing me a fortune Ha! Ha! Have a great day.

    Very good effect there Pam. Looks like a cats eye when you first did the colour swirl. Have you ever tried adding something to create "cells" something like alcohol or resin blast.

      @mamabearssheshedtracykeato6941 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pam: Enjoyed video very much. Beautiful! Question: I have been watching your past bandsaw boxes and the question comes to my mind is : is there some formula for the thickness for cutting the front and back of both the box and the drawers? ron USA

    • @Highlandboxes
      @Highlandboxes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ronald im not sure about formula for box thickness, on my big boxes the back is an average of 3/4 to a inch thick. The draws the front i do around 1/2 inch and back 1/4 but thats just me im self taught so im not sure if its right. Many thanks Pam :-)

  • @PaulLockwood

    That looks fantastic Pam. Wasn't sure when you put the last lot of colours on, but when they blend in properly they work a treat. Not sure if I like where you can the inner rim or if it works better.
    I think if you turned yourself a wood disc with a rim to keep all the resin in to show wood and resin would also look amazing. If the wood has character then some clear coloured resin may also look amazing.
    Well done!

    Hi Pam
    Have you ever used or tried resin from www.easycomposites.co.uk I have just used their GlassCast 3 for a large 2ft clock. They also have different grades for various applications and I also used their coloured pigments, opaque and translucent. Not bad prices either in my opinion. Oh and the clock turned out great, just like glass.

    • @Highlandboxes
      @Highlandboxes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cliff yes i used to use it before i was able to get amazing clear cast in the uk and also cheaper if you buy the biggest container. Your clock sound amazing. Thank you :-)

      I have a friend with at least 2000 albums but probably more. I certainly wasn't going to count them. He's built custom storage for them that is not only functional but part of his decor. He considers them sacred so I never share any video that uses albums as a craft supply. He is better off not knowing such things exist. *laughs*
