Only thing that is holding Aerox back is it's fuel capacity. But considering people have already taken Activas to Ladakh and have made it back proves that we Indians can do anything 🤣
I wish it would go touring but isn't it too closer for the handle bar towards the body to use it for a comfortable touring??? Who ever rode it will know better
For touring purpose I think aprilia Sxr160 is better than aerox as it has 160cc engine, 15mm higher ground clearance, 7 lit fuel tank, flat floor board (easy to carry more luggage), flexible footrest ( suitable for long tour), dedicated grab rail etc..

2 of my friends got it last week, first Aerox in Kolkata. I waited a long time for this, then I got the MT in 2019. My friends are really lucky that Aerox got released when they were looking to buy a new ride. Awesome video as always @Shumi 😺🤙🏻
I really like this gradual advancement that the Indian automotive market has been seeing in the last couple of years, weather it is in pupose built motorcycles or more powerful scooters. If the trend continues and our roads get better, we might see ourselves next to europe in the next decade!

I own a monster energy edition. Believe me, no scooter can be compared with this. If we are to compare, then SXR 160 And Ntorq race edition are the closest ones. But Aerox will blow them away.

In my City, Aerox 155 costs just Rs.4000 (on road) more than Aprillia SXR160...its just doesn't make any sense to buy SXR160 unless you want flat foot board for carrying things...!
And if we want a powerful scooter with floorboard we have the ntorq, access, jupiter 125 with are much better imo, with wide spread service and cheaper price.
If you think of it as just a scooter next door.. it's definitely going to feel expensive.. But when you look at it in isolation, I think it packs in fantastic value for money. There is nothing like the Aerox in our market. It looks fab, packs a lot of punch and quality levels are also top drawer. Spending equivalent or a little more money can get you a 200cc or for that matter Yamaha's own FZ25 bike. But, the sense of individuality and the exhilarating performance from the R15 derived Liquid cooled, 4 valves, VVA engine mated to a CVT.. is for sure going to feel very very special.

It doesn't slip at all. . Only con I found is the front Suspension which is very weak. Rest everything is amazing. Go ahead with the purchase.

After see this have picked this one in the same colour on April 14th.. only changes done are replaced the rear shocks with KYB gas shocks from Yamaha and replaced the rear lights with Yamaha LED setup...I have already done 5000 kms...The Japanese IRC tyres are good but soft for Indian roads...plan to replace them with MRF Nylogrip whenever they launch the size.. Aerox is an addiction

A scooter in India is majorly seen as a multi function utility, we use it to carry bags, groceries even cylinders. From that perspective, only some will be buying it and it also has a smaller tank for going on a long drive or something. For this price, there are so many good bikes available as well with much better feature sets. So I think its for some specific user base only.
This was more of a first impression/Ride, not a review as you guys have put in the title. I expect, things like acceleration, mileage, storage space and many other aspects to be covered in a "Review". Nonetheless, great production quality and presentation by Shumi, as always.
This is a great scooter, the happiness in the voice speaks volumes. In Kovai and leathers has to be Kari motorway. And I think it must be the GT Cup time.
We love RX 100. And we have one-side love with XSR 155. But She loves only non Indian. Her father thought we are poor. So he offer us ugly step-daughter FZ X.

Its not out of the blue. I bought a FZ V3 on first half of 2019 and joined a yamaha whatsapp group setup by the dealer. They were conducting polls in those chats in 2019-2020, to see how many people would like to see scooters like Aerox in India. I am sure other dealers did the same with instructions from Yamaha India. Clearly a lot of people expressed interest and here we are. I went to book one and they told me to wait 1 and half months LOL
My spine always aches with scooters, never with bikes, I am not sure how this will fair as a tourer. But yes, thanks yamaha for getting this onboard, it sure will be an excellent city bike.

I get the same feeling as I had back in 2007/08 when R15 was launched. Problem is it took them 13 years to get the next exciting product for masses . Don’t really need a scooter but this thing just makes you wants to go and grab one 😁. Yes yamaha !!! 👍
We can feel the excitement in us also when shumi is reviewing 2 wheels. We hate yamaha because we love yamaha, Whenever a new yamaha launch take place They crack that segment , if not in power then in excitement they always impress us...and sad for us we don't see great yamaha's here.

Yayyy you did again... Thanks for the fair review. I have test ride this last week and felt the same with ride quality and balance. I too felt the colour options were very limited and not much appealing. I had got chance to look at Monster and Racing Blue. Monster have more stickers and blue is not greay either. From pics I liked grey some extent with red alloys and the aerox in red on While X panel is looking good. In black we miss the Aerox lettering and in blue its on gey which is not getting elevated. Let me see Grey in daylight to comment more. Please do compare with Ather 450x as they both fall in same price bracket and scooter segment. I test ride both on the same day and both are equally good, I am not able to decide which one to buy. BTW did Yamaha manufacturig Aerox in India or getting this imported as CBU. I feel its being imported and I could not find any manufacturers with that section on tyres in India. If its being imported then will we get spares available in future if the sales is not huge like fassino.

The aerox is unlike anything in India. No comparisons its an awesome product on its own. Fantastic ride and handling but only problem from an Indian buyers perspective is there is no flat footboard and no ladies footrest.
PD could host a contest on this video: How many times did Shumi said "really" in the video ? Coz the "really" shows that this scooter is a great offering for enthusiasts.
5 litre tank will go average 180 kms in one tank full, which means every 150 kms one have to start searching petrol pump. City riding is fine, but an 8 litres tank would have more practical for this scooter for touring purpose.
Also one has to maintain around 2 litres reserve for the smooth working of Fuel Injection (Fi)...so it's practically around 3 litres and can travel for 100 kms only
I think it should be compared to the SR160(not the SXR) if we're looking at scooters. But realistically, both the SR and the aerox are more so motorcycles with the convenience of a scooter, so in addition to the SR, I think this should be compared to the gixxer 150 which is more or less in the same price bracket and will provide a decent point of comparison to the other 150cc commuters.
Yamaha's aerox is game changer in the scooter segment. Its looks sharp, sporty and modern. Then the performance is top class with the same liquid cooled VVA engine from the R15. Overall its great package especially those looking for fun to Ride sporty scooter. Sure its not practical as a everyday scooter but still its an intresting choice to have. 😍😍😍😍. Thanks guys for the review. Compare the aerox with both aprilia SR 160 and SXR 160.

From the nice simple look ray z to the monster looking Aerox wow yamaha is indeed the next level gen
Compare it with some of the 150cc motorcycles. That'll be interesting.
Only couple of vehicles are powerful than Aerox. Apache RTR (latest) and R15.
Compare with Aprilia 160 and Ntorq 125
The aerox is unlike anything in India. No comparisons its an awesome product on its own. Fantastic ride and handling but only problem from an Indian buyers perspective is there is no flat footboard and no ladies footrest.
PD could host a contest on this video: How many times did Shumi said "really" in the video ? Coz the "really" shows that this scooter is a great offering for enthusiasts.
I think really said really about 264 times
5 litre tank will go average 180 kms in one tank full, which means every 150 kms one have to start searching petrol pump. City riding is fine, but an 8 litres tank would have more practical for this scooter for touring purpose.
Also one has to maintain around 2 litres reserve for the smooth working of Fuel Injection (Fi)...so it's practically around 3 litres and can travel for 100 kms only

I think it should be compared to the SR160(not the SXR) if we're looking at scooters. But realistically, both the SR and the aerox are more so motorcycles with the convenience of a scooter, so in addition to the SR, I think this should be compared to the gixxer 150 which is more or less in the same price bracket and will provide a decent point of comparison to the other 150cc commuters.

Yamaha's aerox is game changer in the scooter segment. Its looks sharp, sporty and modern. Then the performance is top class with the same liquid cooled VVA engine from the R15. Overall its great package especially those looking for fun to Ride sporty scooter. Sure its not practical as a everyday scooter but still its an intresting choice to have. 😍😍😍😍. Thanks guys for the review.
