She did such a good job on the whole show. It was such masterful writing and acting to have the audience hate her character, when she was the one that made the most sense.
Yeah, honestly I never really hated Skyler, I could completely understand how she felt, to feel completely frustrated and powerless as her husband of however many years was becoming this completely different person in front of her and she tried to hold the family together while everything was falling apart because of what he was doing.
Made the most sense? In what way? I mean I know I am essentially asking that difficult question to the peanut gallery but how on earth did you get that? This seems to me like the response a "normal" person would have to this scenario. Which is probably what you are, just know, you are talking from that perspective, not the perspective of a person who has had to deal with hardship but a normal person whose biggest lost was probably their grandma when they were younger. I know the writing of this show is meant to convey the effects of a bad decision but I feel that people like you miss the deeper points of breaking bad, like pride, ego and to a certain degree, purpose. All of that gets lost on morons like your who just see victims everywhere. It's like the sixth sense but with emotional psychopaths.
@@yourmomssaidicouldhavemyun2590 I honestly have no idea what point you are making. I understand you think I am stupid. But I don’t understand what point you think I am missing. I’m just going to assume that something I said reminded you of something that makes you mad, and you just had an argument with yourself. When I say she made the most sense, I mean that her choices were the most in line with what a person would do to make the best of a given situation without causing more harm than good. What the hell do you mean finding victims everywhere? I really can’t believe you typed that response to what I said. You are clearly having your own moment on my thread.
If we think about it, Skyler's story is one of the saddest in the BB/BCS universe, in the last episode she is no longer the Skyler of the first chapter who was more optimistic and tried to look for the best for her family, in the end she lost it everything, his house, his social status and his family was completely damaged by Walt's decisions.
The only consolation is knowing that Skyler has some kind of a future, no matter how much she's suffered. She and her kids still have each other; maybe she and Marie will find a way forward as sisters too. Whereas Walt died alone in a Nazi meth lab, knowing his whole family (and whatever friends he ever had) hated his guts.
@@sidleyparkhermit6391 Walt died because he made immoral, egotistical decisions, you reap what you sow, he was lucky to get away with it by dying like he wanted from the start of the show. Walt's family was forced into it.
Even just watching this video I teard up cause her acting is so real and truthfully you can hear the shakiness in her voice, she's really going through what her Character is

Imagine hating a fictional character so much that you send death-threats to the actress who played her. And then imagine the reason you hated the character was that she wasn't supportive enough of her murdering, lying, narcissistic ego-maniac criminal of a husband. Jesus, lol
@@BrevityBuzz Yes, apparently Anna Gunn received a ton of hate mail, including threats of violence. I hear this is sadly common for live action characters with an unhealthy anti-fanbase, many actors have gone through this, but the internet adds some fuel to that geek rage.
I really hate that kind of audience lol they put so much of their emotion into the movies and always complain about the character's behavior instead of understanding them.
The writing of Skyler's character had always amazed me because of how real it feels. I know that we're set up to dislike her because we're following Walt's story as the 'protagonist' and Sklyer makes it difficult for him to get away with things - but when you actually imagine yourself in her position as a partner to someone who is constantly lying to you, disappearing for days, and bringing you into a world of crime, you see just how real and reasonable most of her actions & reactions are. And I just love that she is unapologetically written as an intelligent character who can see through Walt's lies.
Watching her fall apart in the final season was pretty rough, it's insane people fail to empathize with her. Was she petty at times? Sure, but her husband was lying to her since the first episode. He was cooking and dealing METH, killing people, all while lying through his teeth. All while she had to deal with her pregnancy (AND childbirth), a son in high school (with a major disability) AND Walt having cancer. The only truly bad thing she ever did was smoke cigs while pregnant. What's even more insane is that she came around and started trying to help Walt, but he was greedy and always wanted more. He got over his head and got family killed, yet people expect her to be supportive? She had every right to leave him, the dude was a ticking time bomb like Mike said.
I'm surprised she didn't leave him sooner, she really stuck around till the end and put up with all of it and people are still saying she's "annoying" like guys why is this so hard for you to understand? If you were with someone for YEARS and you have children together and they suddenly start leading a life of crime that could endanger the entire household then how would you even sleep at night? Not to mention the entire concept of the person you were with is now suddenly a completely different person and not AT ALL the person you fell inlove with, how you gonna deal with that?
The acting was so good in those final episodes of Breaking Bad, I don’t see how anyone did their job without feeling emotionally traumatized after those scenes were shot.
Ozymandias, to me, is the single best episode of television ever created. The emotional roller-coaster you were on, and the horror of what Walt was going to do to that baby, and the feeling of dread that only a parent could have. It was incredible. I wish I could forget it and watch it again.
@@labadaba5088 yeah I don't get why people say some episodes of shows are hard to watch, maybe I'll shed a tear if it's sad but hard to watch ? It's a big word
Anna Gunn being a mother herself, probably envisioned the same thing happening to her, and used that emotion. Its not a great place to be mentally, which is why actors should regularly see a therapist after roles like these. That, and having a great support system in their lives
I think that with all that happened, people tend to forget that Skylar is left behind to deal with all of this with 2 kids, no house, crappy job. I'd love to see a '10 years later' movie or mini-series.
If his plan works out Flynn gets a few million from Walt but it is kinda telling how that is Walt's idea of kinda fixing this and how it is still about him feeling like "the man" providing for his family (this is why he does not want Elliot to use any of their money but just Walt's. The traume and the destruction of the family can never be fixed.
This is so hard to watch. I literally cried watching her. You realize that she isn't just making facial expressions to make herself look heartbroken and terrified. She actually has to feel heartbroken and terrified. Wonderful job, Anna Gunn. You made one of the best scenes in television history.
@@m-linko Who are you to determine people's personal experiences? You're acting pretty quirky by thinking that you know the actions of strangers on the internet.
What makes BB one of best shows ever is the fact that every single actors put their guts to it. No overshadowed actors, just perfect balance of talents
This scene changed my entire perspective on Skyler. It's not that I hated her before but I fell into how Walt felt about her, and here I saw her for what she was, a mother at the whim of her crazy egotistical husbands desires. Insane acting
The fact that this isn't even the final take is astonishing, who knows how many takes there must've been, and each of the actors put themselves through all the emotional rollercoaster over and over. Just brilliant.
Lord, Anna Gunn is such a breathtaking actor. I hate that people don't like Skyler because the show would not have even a fraction of it's emotional weight without her.
I hate that people don't realize that there is a right way and a wrong way to hate Skyler. A lot of people hate Skyler as a character, saying she's annoying and wishing she wasn't in the show. But the "right" way is: you're supposed to hate her because you as an audience member are falling for Walt's manipulation, his self-serving lies. Doing so is what makes the realization that you were rooting for a malipulative, murdering, psychopathic drug lord, and hating on his loving wife who by comparison was a saint, hit like a sack of bricks
I get not like her character. I mean, I find Marie annoying, but Betsy Brandt is such an incredible actress for having such an awesome performance. No matter what, the actors don’t deserve to get the hate for what the characters do
As someone who acted throughout high school and college, it's weird to see someone this good at acting. Like you actually start to feel bad for her and feel her pain in a way. It was so good that she even started to convince herself it was real. There are few actors in this world that are able to get into character like that, maybe only a few each generation, and we should really appreciate that we get to see it.
@@henrysmthing289 False. That's a TikTok lie. It was all scripted and you can watch in one of the blooper reels on youtube where 'Walter' is practicing his throw before the actual shot.
For the people in the comments saying she’s just faking it, she’s just acting, that she’s dumb or crazy because she can’t snap out of it, she isn’t. I have personally done work of this emotional caliber at an acting school with like 10 other people in the class, where we had to “play with our cats” for 3 minutes or so, and then, immediately after, one by one, for 3 minutes, say our final goodbyes to them on their death bed at the vet in front of the entire class. The sheer raw power of that experience will haunt me until the day I die. Every single emotion in that room was real and you could FEEL it. THAT is what real acting looks like and feels like, and Anna Gunn did a phenomenal job in this scene.
@@abcdefzhiji think they mean they were told to act like they had a cat they loved very much, pretend they were playing with it briefly, only to then have to act out losing the same cat all as if it were real.
Agreed, I was amazed by how many people hated her, but I have a feeling that they were, in fact, the Walt fans who had rather misogynistic expectations of her. It just seems like most of their complaints centered around her being “crazy” and such, dismissing the brutal reality that no one wants their spouse to be a fucking drug lord?
@@Meepers_the_Great misogynistic? 😂 It’s because she cheated on Walter, got involved in the drug business when no one asked her, and spent his money with the guy she cheated on him with. Walt needed her and she needed to cover for her family. She realised walt isn't gonna change no matter what she does so she changed to protect the family. 3. She gave ted the money to protect walt and her family. Cause ted wasn't gonna money back to irs and if irs checks ted account, they will check all of the employess accounts too and that means they will get to skyler and walt too. It's insane. Not only in the fact that she has to be in the character's headspace, but also in the fact that she can return to "the zone" after the taking a break from the snow. She got in the character, get out and in again. Wow.
can't imagine what it's like being an actor who really gets into these roles. even after the scene is over you can't stop crying. you put yourself in this character's shoes and you can't help but feel for them because even if it's fake it's still realistic. i'm sure it feels like you're living a part of their life
@@Goner_Requiem Some actor can cry on command. I had a friend who have done theater and he could cry on command. He once put a nice example : You know when you have done something really embarassing? like in public? And when you think about it 2 years later you are still embarasses AF thinking about it. He told me he was doing the same for sadness, reviving sad memory or even imagining horrible situation. That's also why it can take a toll on the actor. Sometimes they have to imagine someone close dying or similar things and convince themself that it's real.
That's the reason why I don't act, even though I love it so much, because there's a professional threshold to actual real greatness that you will only overcome if you truly have the same feelings as the character (meaning you aren't acting anymore, you are being truthful to who you are on that moment), and this can be extremely dangerous depending on the role.
She did such a good job of acting that I didn't even feel the second hand cringe I usually do when I watch a behind-the-scenes clip, it felt _so real._ Even knowing and seeing that there were cameras rolling and it was all supposed to be fake, there was something about it that seriously convinced me about it's legitimacy. Genuinely amazing.
I dislike Skyler for a very simple reason: She made fundamental 180 turns on a whim whenever the plot needed her to, particularly in the early seasons. Going from concerned wife to serving divorce papers to protecting a meth cook using legal loopholes, turning from upstanding citizen and mom to money laundering accomplice who pays a cop's medical bills with drug money, plus the unnecessary drama (dealing with Ted, jumping in the pool etc.)... I could never shake the feeling that she was more of a plot device than a character even after she got more consistent in the last couple of seasons. Props to Anna Gunn though, she sells the character really well.
@@bannedcommander2932 i completely disagree. her transition from being super uptight and legally moral to helping out with highly criminal activity is very slow and methodical.
I can't imagine a "normal" person would do that. If a person can't separate reality from fiction like that, then there's clearly something wrong with them. I disliked the character for all the wrong reasons, which actually makes her an incredible actress.
exactly, people dont realize that characters mirror real life sometimes, and anna gunn was just showing what the story of a drug lords wife looks like.

The people living on that street, assuming that wasn't a set (I do not know), were probably used to it seeing as they had recorded there for years at that point and they were probably aware of when filming would take place.
This is Rian Johnson directing by the way. Before everyone hated him for Last Jedi he led some of the best episodes on Breaking Bad. People tend to forget that.
Because unlike TLJ, Vince wasn't going to let RJ come in and fuck up his show. Disney on the other hand had literally no plans for a story and let RJ come in and fuck up the entire continuity of star wars, and ruin any chances for the sequel trilogy to be a cohesive narrative.

Finishied the show for the first time and honestly, I don’t know how you could hate her acting skills because her role playing as Skyler White is just simply brilliant especially during these very intense scenes where it makes Skyler seem like a real person going through very real emotions as opposed to someone acting as that character.
Yeah, I don't hate Anna, I hate the character of Skyler. I feel this way *because* of her acting and how good it is -- along with the incredible writing in the show.
@@PenroseMusic if you ended the show hating Skyler, I'm sorry to tell you but that's not because they wanted you to hate her, it's because you missed the whole point of Walt's character
@Ray Snider I hated skylar because the whole point of the show was kinda walt's manipulation. The show makes it seem like walt's drug business is understandable and should be supported by his wife, and it sort of manipulates the viewer into siding with walt.
I started watching Breaking Bad last year. I heard so many times that Skyler is a horrible person. I remember that my friend told me that she's more annoying than Lori from TWD. And guess what? I didn't see that. I think Skyler is a sensible person. People hate her because she didn't let her husband ruin her and their children life. She was always trying to find a good solution - like when she asked Elliot&Gretchen for help or when she back to her job. What did you do if you were her? Pregnat woman, husband with cancer. She was totally alone with her pregnancy and she was strong.
@@wintergirll idk weirdly on my second watch I still didn’t like her in season 1 and maybe 2 (probably due to the way they frame her then), but when she started to become a sorta femme fatale in seasons 3-4 I really grew to love her character
I’m really fascinated with the two contrasting ways we see her do this scene. The first one, if she’s off as if she’s exhausted and, while not necessarily hopeless, knows that this won’t do anything since Walt can’t hear her. The second one, is just raw panic and fear for, not her life, but the life of her child. Truly an amazing performance by Ms. Gunn.
What I love is that it’s not just Skyler screaming and crying against her child being taken, it’s everything she did herself to contribute to the situation snowballing to where it finally culminated in this episode. I think in her mind she’s screaming at Walt just as much as she’s screaming at her past self. People can hate on Rian Johnson all they want. Sure he’s done things that should be criticized, but he’s also done some amazing work in his career. Ozymandias was right at the top in my opinion
@@AxeIRad yes indeed. For some time now myself and a small group of fellow cinephiles have been subscribing to the belief that no matter how good a director might be, when they work on a previously established franchise entry, it almost always turns out to be one of their worst films. This is usually due to studios stepping in and stepping on the directors toes with very specific demands and limitations on their creativity. All that to say that yes. David Lynch should have never adapted Dune. Rian Johnson should have never made The Last Jedi. Most of his other films are objectively well executed.
@@mrrowwmeoww I mean best of sequels isn't really a gold star. There's a new hope 2 electric bugaloo. The just wrong movie that is the last jedi. And the completely non sensical rise of Skywalker. The last jedi is in a weird place for me. Because its my least favorite Star Wars movie without a doubt. But it's also probably the best written of the sequels. The main issue I have with it is that it doesn't fit well in the universe. Like the chase makes no sense to me. My only thought was why doesn't half of Kylo's fleet just hyperspace jump in front of the resistance and pincer move. The big one was Luke considering taking out Kylo even if he instantly decided not to. It doesn't fit. Especially when watching these movies in order. Going from redeem Vader Luke to kill Ben Luke feels wrong. Even if you say it's been 30 years, we as the audience weren't shown enough to justify the change in Luke. So looking at it as a standalone movie. It's not that bad. But as a star Wars movie in the main series, I can't stand it. Whatever, the sequels are done and they sucked. It was doomed from force awakens. Imagine being given creative control over the beast that is Star Wars. Then going with Empire vs Rebels again just with different names.

Ill admit, in the earlier seasons, skylar wasn’t my favorite, but as the show darkened I really started to love her character, and really understood a lot of the things she did. Anna played her beautifully and this scene was so incredible and emotional I get chills every single time
Brilliant actor. She was amazing in the role, and the character never deserved all the (misogynistic) hate it got. Wasn't even meant to be hated. Walt was literally the villain, but as a protagonist, you root for him. Then the good guys become the "problem."
@@donsullivan1256 a lot of it had undertones of misogyny, even if it wasn’t explicitly misogynistic. I dislike her the first couple of episodes, I don't like how controlling she was (IMO) but, as the series progresses I started feel bad for her, I don't hate her even when I don't like her and understand why she acts as she did... Besides the cheating situation, she truly acts for the family goods, she truly care for the people around her, even to she never say that she did what she did for her family, if you watch closely you cam see that she didn't have that many options, she can denounce Walt and deal with the consequences or help him hoping that he die and the family don't suffer for the father actions. At the end of the day, her final destiny is more a consequence of Walter's actions that the choose of her own fate.

I don't particularly love the character, but think that in that situation (her husband is a drogue lord and, if she denounces him her entire family will be affected, and the divorce looks like something very problematic for her son and daughter) she's the one in the wrong and the one that deserve the hate is incredible ignorant
This was the hardest scene in the whole show for me to watch. First time seeing it, my blood just ran cold. Anna is amazing in this show and truly doesn’t deserve anywhere near the amount of hate she gets. She more than earned that Emmy
Watching back through the episode, they didn't even use these takes in the episode. I kinda feel bad for Anna seeing this and knowing she put so much into this and it didn't even get used, although what did get used is much more subtle and fits just fine.
Anna's acting is just gold here, the unused shots are so heartbreaking. But the final cut is priceless, even tough they use a more "subtle" shot, Anna's frustrating silence and shaking hands are equaly harsh.
One of the difficulties of the job I guess, having to replicate emotion over and over again, and then have the scene edited down or even potentially removed altogether. I would guess that there are hundreds of thousands of hours of top quality acting on film from thousands of actors that we will never see
That will happen. What the actor might think is their best take, the director will go in the total opposite direction. It would be especially tough when the acting is so incredibly consistent across each rendition, to actually pick a definitive take and stick to it
Anna Gunn did a fantastic job portraying this character. Gives me goosebumps even seeing the behind the scenes. It is truly shattering to watch her breathe life into this cosmically desperate, tragic moment, the lowest ebb of Skylar's entire arc.
Ive never been more stressed watching a tv show than I was in this moment. I’m a grown man and I was watching through my fingers when she and Walt were wresting with the knife.
These are the types of scenes I watch and realize that acting just isn’t for everybody. And I don’t even mean the obvious point that not everyone’s good enough to be an actor, but perhaps more importantly, it takes a special talent to bring yourself to such a place, emotionally, to properly portray the character, and then walk away from it and return to your own life, in this case, hopefully a much happier one. Credit to the crew for helping Anna through it all.
And equally for directors, they have to repeatedly watch the actors go into those vulnerable, dark mental states. I'm not sure that I'd be able to watch that over and over like them. You can say that's the script or the job, but I'd still probably feel a decent amount of guilt.
I had no idea that this is what it took to shoot such an emotional scene , I thought actors just snapped in and out of it , this increases my respect for them even more now
This episode was the best one. Such a masterpiece in every sense. The writing, the performances, the camera work...e.g. Anna is such an amazing actress!!

So weird to see the whole “action” and watch her go into Skyler mode then stop but see how she still is effected by the persona she is portraying, that is how really good actors are I suppose, if they really get into it as they obviously must to be convincing then they can not just switch off those emotions when someone yells “cut” never really considered this, I wonder if all good actors are like this or if some really talented ones can just switch it off when cameras have stopped rolling!
i started tearing up watching this video dude i genuinely had no clue actors actually started feeling like their character like genuinely having emotions of distress during distressing scenes . i always thought they could snap out of it when the recording was over . its also so heartwarming how they comforted her afterwards . love u Anna
Skylar is the pinnacle representation of Walt's old life. The writers face us with the crazy dilemma of pitting the audience against her, since she becomes the resistance to the narrative. Walt built a safe, mundane cage of self defeat and loathing and she ultimately was the warden. Many people (especially men) can sympathize with Walt, in relating to his life before the business. An exhaustive list of failures and shattered dreams, are what sells this tragedy. Large in part because it's a self reflection for the many that are Walt but never ended up breaking bad. They cheer him on, as they shake their fist from inside their own little cages.
@@ldorganics In case you still do not understand it basically means men need to take responsibility for once in their existance and go to therapy instead of expecting a woman to fix their entire life and all of their issues, and then turning into bitter hateful losers when that does not happen because women are people too, not free psychologists.
The acting in this is exceptional. The tension of those final episodes, particularly after Hank finds out, are intense. And you forget that as actors they have to switch in and out of that world at the flip of a coin- I can't imagine being able to do that. Rian is such a legend, from the way he respects his actors, to his eye for the camera, to the way he writes meaningful stories and dialogue and just being an all around good human being. She did such a good job on the whole show. It was such masterful writing and acting to have the audience hate her character, when she was the one that made the most sense.
Exactly

@@anthonycameronnajera8471 that’s what i’m sayin
Yep, what you said if we were in her position would do the same actions...
Sometimes I don't understand people 😐
I'm surprised she didn't leave him sooner, she really stuck around till the end and put up with all of it and people are still saying she's "annoying" like guys why is this so hard for you to understand? All that to say that yes. David Lynch should have never adapted Dune. Rian Johnson should have never made The Last Jedi. Most of his other films are objectively well executed.
watch brick a little hazzy but a great watch
@@mrrowwmeoww I could not agree with this more
The director was great. It is moving to see how he tries to comfort her. He truly cares about the actors and the actors give 100% back to him and to the show.
Excellent team work
Rian Johnson is the GOAT
That’s right
@@SuperSalvaJorit’s crazy how he directed this masterpiece of an episode but he also directed the dogshit that is The Last Jedi
He certainly has range

@@AxeIRad "Anna, it's ok, let the past die" etc. He was probably baffled by the idea that people actually care about a story.
Ill admit, in the earlier seasons, skylar wasn’t my favorite, but as the show darkened I really started to love her character, and really understood a lot of the things she did. Anna played her beautifully and this scene was so incredible and emotional I get chills every single time
SO REAL. I found her hilarious especially in season one, but she's literally my favourite character from bb, no joke
Brilliant actor. She was amazing in the role, and the character never deserved all the (misogynistic) hate it got. Wasn't even meant to be hated. Walt was literally the villain, but as a protagonist, you root for him. Then the good guys become the "problem."
None of it was misogynistic hate what are you on
@@donsullivan1256 a lot of it had undertones of misogyny, even if it wasn’t explicitly misogynistic. People acted like she was obligated to allow and defend Walt’s terrible, unspeakable actions because she was his wife, and she owed him care and affection. It’s a common type of argument used against many women facing serious issues in relationships, and it doesn’t help that most people making this argument against Skyler are male.
@@helenaperez4343 Well, the show wanted to produce that kind of feeling though. This episode was the one that turned many people, it showed that Walter really is the fucked up crazy guy who did everything just for himself and it also showed Walter weak for the first time in the show.

So do most people lmao.
Now I wanna see Vince Gilligan do a Star Wars film
@Andrej he’s doing okay… he’s gonna make millions from the Knives Out sequels.
Rian Johnson is a great director and he has done some brilliant work. The Last Jedi was his one bad movie and now everyone only sees him for that.
@@RE4PER Thank god he made Knives Out and everyone forgets about the last jedi
I always loved her character. I was surprised, after finishing the show, to find out that so many people hated her.
People hate her in the beginning...and human nature is like first expression is the last expression that's why they keep on hating her...but at the end i find it hard to believe people hated her in season 5 too
She deserves the hate
She shouldn't have cheated on Walt
@@Fahadhassan555 like, really? Yeah, he killed a lot of people, put her family in danger, was partially guilty for the murder of Hank, the death of hundreds of people in the plane and the kidnapped of Jesse... But yeah, she deserves been hate, even when his husband also try to hook with her boss (but he was rejected, otherwise he would probably will cheated her). I don't particularly love the character, but think that in that situation (her husband is a drogue lord and, if she denounces him her entire family will be affected, and the divorce looks like something very problematic for her son and daughter) she's the one in the wrong and the one that deserve the hate is incredible ignorant
@@Scarlet_Cameo I see your point but can't help hating her..
Guess what
Walt really is master manipulater.
I liked the one they used
One of the difficulties of the job I guess, having to replicate emotion over and over again, and then have the scene edited down or even potentially removed altogether.
I would guess that there are hundreds of thousands of hours of top quality acting on film from thousands of actors that we will never see
That will happen. What the actor might think is their best take, the director will go in the total opposite direction. It would be especially tough when the acting is so incredibly consistent across each rendition, to actually pick a definitive take and stick to it
They did. It’s just slowed down and layered with the amazing score from Dave Porter.
Wow that made me tear up
Exactly. That seems so real
Such a fantastic scene. Still can't believe people sent her death threats.
she's genuinely such a good actor. poor skylar and poor anna

Yes without walter, jesse, hank, skyler and saul if some of this 5 dont be on the show, the show was never going to turn that good believe me

@@diogomarques9228 Okay and I am talking specifically about Skyler cause that's what this video is about.
@@turboklanias9626 Obviously the show wouldn't be the same without one of the MAIN characters...
Anna Gunn did a fantastic job portraying this character. Gives me goosebumps even seeing the behind the scenes. It is truly shattering to watch her breathe life into this cosmically desperate, tragic moment, the lowest ebb of Skylar's entire arc.
Ugh, this scene makes me cry every time. It’s just so horrifying and stressful! The acting is unbelievable
Ive never been more stressed watching a tv show than I was in this moment. I’m a grown man and I was watching through my fingers when she and Walt were wresting with the knife.
haha i laugh everytime i see this scene
Skyler is a bitch
This was the only scene in the entire series where I actually cried tears...Anna really gave it her all, and made it so real for us.
@AIKnowYou not only that but to each time criticize them and tell them where they messed up and do it again.
The take they used of her in the street is incredibly haunting. The look on her face, and the way she’s trembling is so upsetting
So much emotion I remember when I first watched this scene My jaw dropped and my heart was racing no tv show has done that like breaking bad
How the hell do actors get into this emotional state of mind? Respect.

Never ever buy homes on T-bones. That is the worst property to buy. There will be endless cars shining headlights through your windows and you will go nuts. And sell meth. It is amazing how house selection can completely ruin your life.
The work that goes behind filming a single scene, the emotional and the mental preparation, is just unbelievable....
Hats off to all the people who gave their life in making this beautiful piece of art!
Even watching this clip, with the strange angle, and the cameras all around, still had me crying.
Everyone from Walter to Badgers cousin was cast perfectly. Fantastic show
This actually made me cry all over again 😭 even with the cameras visible it’s hard not to feel the weight in Anna’s acting. I found Skyler’s character to be one of the most sensible so when I found out that people actually disliked her I didn’t really get it. I just recently finished BB and wow, props to the actors and everyone that made that show what it is. What an awesome show.
This was the hardest episode of any tv show ever to watch, not because it’s bad, but because it was so good that I could damn near feel those emotions
As an actor I can never understand how some actors really fall into the emotion of their characters like that with method acting. It’s impressive but surreal.
So glad they didn’t use any of those takes. The one in the show where she falls silently with her mouth agape is way more powerful.
Plus it mirrors Walt and Marie’s reactions to Hank dying
you know that last take teared me up, i didnt remember what exactly was happening here but her acting told me. i know exactly what she feels and what happened. amazing
The final cut of this scene always brings tears to my eyes. So well done. This show is a masterpiece.
Every actor and actress in this show was absolutely amazing and that's one of the reasons why its literally the best show on TV
i started tearing up watching this video dude i genuinely had no clue actors actually started feeling like their character like genuinely having emotions of distress during distressing scenes . i always thought they could snap out of it when the recording was over . its also so heartwarming how they comforted her afterwards . love u Anna
It's so touching that she started to genuinely bury her face in her hands AFTER the cut 🥺

The acting in this is exceptional. The tension of those final episodes, particularly after Hank finds out, are intense. And you forget that as actors they have to switch in and out of that world at the flip of a coin- I can't imagine being able to do that. Props to Rian Johnson for being a fantastic director and allowing Anna Gunn to do an incredible job.
Such an amazing job. It turned out to be such an intense scene and one of they few to make me cry.
Rian is such a legend, from the way he respects his actors, to his eye for the camera, to the way he writes meaningful stories and dialogue and just being an all around good human being.
I hoped they would've gotten him for an episode of Better Call Saul but the man is too busy having a grear career of his own.
Yeah, if interviews with him are anything to go by, he seems like just a really sweet guy. Can't wait for Knives Out 2.
Yeah I love Rian Johnson. It was absolutely terrible to see what horrible things people were saying about him because of his Star Wars movie.
@@skylol6258 as long as we can agree that he took a great set up jj Abrams handed to him and bungled the hell out of it.
@@johnnypottseed I kinda agree. I liked most of the TLJ but HEAVILY hated the rest of the film. I also like some of the choices Rian made with the film, but yeah a lot of them were not good lol. What's ironic is that RoS sucked because it tried to fix TLJ rather than improve upon it, similar to what TLJ did with Force Awakens.
RoS should have take the Revenge of the Sith route and improve upon the previous films flaws instead of trying to fix them.

I positively adored Breaking Bad. When you see the 'Behind the Scenes' footage, you can appreciate the effort from everyone who works together to produce 40 minutes of final footage for you and I. It might appear silly and overly pedantic and dramatic...but the end result is clearly a stellar product.
Ozymandias is amazing. When I first watched it, I felt the agony and despair of the characters. And I cried at the phone call scene, that was actually the highlight of the episode for me.
A stunning performance. It's painful to watch someone come apart at the seams so completely. Anna Gunn is phenomenal.
