So wish that I could have been there for that show. Paul is a legend in his own right & is doing a great job of keeping the music alive. There is no doubt that the music transcends those four lads from Liverpool who wrote the songs & recorded them so long ago. Just think back & remember the first time you ever heard a Beatles song. Now that's worth remembering. Thanks so much Paul for your talent & for giving us the music that shaped all of our lives...........................
First time I heard a Beatle Song was riding in the back seat of a 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air with brother listening to Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel" after which played "I Saw Her Standing There", and as much as I just enjoyed Elvis' song, I knew I just heard just as great, or greater, sound and was puzzled how two songs could be so great and so different. Unbelieveable. Always thought that the juxtaposition of those two songs broadcast back-to-back was powerful because I had enjoyed "Don't Be Cruel" so much, and then this new sound coming behind it brought on a new era. That memory has become symbolic for me of a huge era of music going out and a new one coming in. Couldn't have known it at the time, but it sure was powerfully felt. Push the envelope once, Hurrah! Push it twice, HURRAH!!
Sir Paul I want to thank you for all the joy and happiness you brought to me and all your fans throughout the years, and no doubt, for future generations to come. Thank you for still performing with such heartfelt love for your fans. LOVE & PEACE to you always and forever and May God Bless YOU Sir Paul!!❤
This is Great! If your a Beatles Fan what could be better than a close up gig with Sir Paul?! Better see this while you can and while he still can play and sing. It’s amazing he’s still doing it! Thanks for sharing!
At 76 years of age it is wonderful to see that Sir Paul still gets a buzz out of performing live and creating new music. It is also wonderful to know that we still have a small chance of seeing one of the great song writers of the 20th century live. Yes, there are a few idiots who want to troll and leave silly comments. But that behaviour says more about them than it does about a unique talent which has given so much happiness to so many for over five decades.
I agree with you to an extent. But I think the singer Billy Joel -who is a huge fan of McCartney (as am I) -is also right when he says that McCartney is damaging his own legacy and reputation by going on and on with vastly inferior new songs, and with a performing voice which is no longer what it was.
It is evident from your other post that you know your music history. Therefore I assume that you understand the evolution of popular music. I respect your opinion. However, I have to agree and disagree with your comment to me. I enjoyed some of Sir Pauls most recent albums such as 'Memory Almost Full' and 'Chaos and Creation' more than his early efforts such as 'Red Rose Speedway' and even a couple of his efforts with the Beatles such as 'Beatles For Sale'. I even think his last effort, 'New', produced some songs of credit. However, I do agree that his voice is not what it was. Despite this fact, I think it almost impossible for him to damage too much a legacy that has few equals.
Chaos and Creation was unusually good for late McCartney -Beatles standard at its best even -so I agree with you there. Much of what he has produced in the last 20 years has been quite poor, and certainly inferior to Paul at his best. There will have to come a point in the next 5 years when he concludes that performing live is self defeating and damaging to his own legacy.
I agree that his days as a live performer are drawing to a close. And that is sad, but also within the natural course of things. But once again, I do have to differ with you on his musical output over the last 20 years. Did you hear 'Flaming Pie'? Have you heard 'Memory Almost Full'? When you compare these albums to 'Wildlife' or 'Wings at The Speed of Sound' from the early part of his solo career you will note how superior they are. But that is just my opinion. Take care.
I agree that some of his later albums are superior to very early wings albums like Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway ( the latter came close to rejection by EMI because it was substandard). But thats because those early albums were unusually poor. (But Dear Friend from Wild Life is sublime) My favourite Paul albums are Tug of War, Pipes of Peace and the brilliant Chaos and Creation. I was bitterly disappointed by New. We will have to wait and see what the new album holds. Who knows -there might be some classics on there which will make me eat my words. But those two new songs are a bad omen. Someone should have advised him not to release those. But I want to be proven wrong with the new album......
I did previously suggest for PID'ers an appropriate embracing term - Collective Unified Nurturing Truths, as acronyms are so much easier to identify with!
weirdplanet108 - Many thanks & trust me don't go there! I have and encountered some particularly messed up and unpleasant individuals. In any event they don't want facts getting in the way of what has become an enduring and preposterous myth! Last year I was chatting to a guy who knew Paul well pre and substantially beyond 66 and he finds it all laughable! Utter BS! Take care.
He is a God in Liverpool, met he & Linda when his cousin was my boyfriend, it was one of major events in my life. He came up to Liverpool at New Year to his Auntie Ginn’s & was playing the piano. I was in heaven!!
Paul is such an amazing man...oh my such wonderful times during The Beatle's era....I miss The Beatle's so much. Thank God they left us with such a large amount of wonderful music and memories.
I was there Yesterday..Absolutely Fabulous ! This Cavern was built brick by brick of the original Cavern when it was demolished ! To me it's the same Club , Only the other side of the Street.
Is that right Irene it was knocked down and built on the other side of the street'' why man' to you it might seem normal' but i think seems unusual'' but was this a 'crafty property selling point''' to always have a retainer 'of revenue' that the famous Beatles played here''
The Cavern was knocked down because it was a dump and so it made way for a car park, I find it impossible to believe the same bricks were used. even if they were it's not the same Cavern.
Dean Scott exactly' there's all of this romanticism of memory ''but you say it as it is '''straight and true'' I would find it hard to believe 'and as you say' how can people say its the original cavern 'and does Paul McCartney think the same 'as you and me''because how can you stand on the stage and say ''this is where it all started'' its like trigger in fools and horses''i have had this broom 15 years its the ''original ''you know its only needed 3 shanks and 4 heads

Pete's Guitar Lessons TV I agree with you Pete..what people forget is he has earned every penny..he's our modern day Song writer /along with John lennon. He has brought up a family and provided well. Let's be honest here who else do you see in the music business doing free gigs in their home town ? Err Excuse me..no one !
It comes to something when the older generations music is cooler then the younger generations! rock on paul mcartney at 76!!! ...long live rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..er ta! ...i enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
come on "daily mail" how how hard would it have been to get a direct audio from the live console and either go wireless or sync it in post ?? seriously ??
When a person sings his own words, it s the spirit and his soul that we hear. For those of you commenting on vocals, I hear true music. He could whisper the words and it would still be on point. Over 50 years of singing the same beloved songs, thank you Paul for staying true to you.
YOU JUST SEE HIS FACE BRIGHTENS UP AND SEEM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK HOME !...HIM AND RINGO HAVE NEVER FOGOTTEN THEIR ROOTS !..... LIVERPOOL FOREVER,RIGHT PAUL 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏💖👍🏴💥🔥🎵
I took my then 17 year old daughter, Madilyn, to see Paul at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles in August 2014...30th row seats in centerfield! Great show, great Memory 😎
Why all the hating? Sir Paul is 76, and his voice is still great. There are some rock n' roll guys out there, in their 50's and 60's who can't hit the notes they used to either--so what?! You take them all for what they are now; if you want to go to their concerts and buy their new albums, fine, if you don't, don't. No need for the attacks. I've been to many McCartney concerts in the last decade and he can hit most of his notes--high ones and low ones. Sometimes he forgets the lyrics, catches himself, laughs it off, and starts all over again--at least you know that he's actually singing. He gives a three hour, amazing, dazzling concert, night after night, standing on his feet most of the time. I'm not sure how he can do it without taking a bathroom break at his age, but he does. I saw him for 3 consecutive nights in September ; he showed no signs of fatigue after all that performing; I was more tired than he was, and I'm 20 years younger. There are many reasons to admire him-- for his musical genius, for his humanitarianism, for the happiness he has given millions, for the devoted parent that he is to his children, and for so many more reasons. If you're not on board with that, try to take the advice that most of us learn in kindergarten --if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
I want to frame this comment and hang it on my wall! Paul has enriched my life like no other, and even if he doesn’t have his age 25 vocals anymore (who born in the 1940’s does?) he still sounds fine and it’s not about perfect singing, it’s about being in the same room with the man who gave happiness to millions for sixty years and paying him the respect he deserves. I’ve never seen him live and I want to kick myself for it… I’m sure he will retire after this year’s tour 🥺
Brilliant from Paul.Means so much to scousers to know that you know Paul that you are one of us.We all so proud of you.Back in Liverpool alot these days it seems...but you never really left did you,you just visited quietly.76 and as brilliant as ever.Just like Jerry Lee you will keep on rockin. In the town were I was born...was a mannn who loved to play..and he told us of his dreams...in the laannd of his hometown...!! He has put a lot of his own money in to .LiPA..is here quite often as he has a house here and his brother and family members live on the Wirral !! He deserves everything he's worked for !!!

He did this several years ago. Great thing about that time is David Gilmour played guitar. David once said he wished he could have been in the Beatles. Never heard an established musician say something like that. Hopefully it wasn't just after a fight with Waters.
This fellas made it in life over and over again. Just cos youve got an audi on h.p.does not constitute the same unfortunately. Sir paul works when he wants to and does what he wants to.. End of story. Y. N. W. A

It's sad that the actual Cavern shut down. This is a next door building, where the owner tried to make things "as close as possible" to the real thing.
4 lads from Liverpool conquering the world. What a massive inspiration they are for my city.
All of Merseyside mate
amazing to see this guy is still rocking, what a legend
I remember Paul not having the nicest words to say about the decision to turn the original into a parking lot.
Yeahh
what'd 'e say?
can you blame him
Good to have Paul McCartney back!!! But I do miss John Lennon and George Harrison.
We still have our ringoo starr

Saw him in concert last year. It was hands down the most exciting, entertaining show I've witnessed.
Sir Paul McCartney is a LIVING LEGEND 😍. Wishing someday to see him perform live. That would be a DREAM COME TRUE.
The Keeper Of The Flame. He's still got it at 76. Amazing...

Very cool.
Paul would be ill-advised to undertake a tour of major venues.
Simply divine.
🤩🤩
Was everyone told that the venue was not the original (actual) Cavern..... that was flattened!
HE TAKES THE STAGE ONCE INSIDE ,AND JUST SAYS ..... LIVERPOOL!....THE PACKED CAVERN CLUB GOES ABSOLUTELY NUTS 😂😂😂😂💖💖💖😭😭😭😭🙏💖👍 I KNOW I WOULD 💖👍

I am not a great fan. But one thing , I do respect. He hasn't forgotten his roots. Unlike some some divas.

Thanks for kicking me out after 3 minutes due to taking a photo despite everyone else holding their phones up and doing the same thing
....it "was", was rebuilt same street...best wishes
I'm not a fan, but Paul McCartney has done some cool things of late and new music sounds better than ever
Reminds me of the time me granddad wandered away from the home, and we found him at the karaoke bar.
I'm disapointed Paul you did not show up 22 years ago when I was there. LoL ! 🎵
I would have given 10 years of my life to have been here for this!
Really? is your life that sad?
he already did this in 2000 (and played a bunch of old rock and roll tunes that were more fitting to the club)
I just wish the others were here
How could they have torn down the original Cavern?!
I think he can´t believe his outstanding succes, it´s like a fairy tale, just out of the world.
Ирландская рыжеватость на старости лет проявила себя...
A surprise that apparently everyone knew of
It's sad that the actual Cavern shut down. This is a next door building, where the owner tried to make things "as close as possible" to the real thing.
