As someone with a a fear of turbulence (but who nevertheless traveled very frequently on long haul pre-pandemic) the ability of cabin crew to handle jittery passengers is something I find very important. Good to see that the Qatar Airways cabin crew handled the situation so well…
Embrace the turbulence and watch pilots talk about turbulence it’ll help ease your fears. If you get turbulence and move around with it like you’re jumping in your seat sitting down it plays tricks on your mind that you’re on a bumpy road for example. Sit in a window and look outside. Reduce the mitigating factors that scare you 🙂
I was once about to board BA to KUL from LHR when I said to the desk that something seemed off about the back of the plane, 10 minutes later they pushed it back and announced a 7 hour delay. When we finally boarded, the co-pilot came to our seat and introduced himself, we then talked about the route before I said "are we flying over the bay of Bengal, I know there's normally turbulence there and my mum is scared of turbulence" the co-pilot came back with an i-pad showing weather reports in the area through the whole route and said for now it wasn't gonna be that bad, he also invited us into the cockpit after the flight. When we finally reached the Bay of Bengal, the turbulence was massive and my mum started crying, a cabin crew came over and kneeled on the floor for 45 minutes keeping my mum calm, this was turbulence that could've easily have thrown someone to the ceiling at points, so the fact the cabin crew risked her safety to help my mum keep calm was top notch. Will never ever forget that flight from start to finish
I love the A380, bummer they are slowly going out of commission. I've flown on Qatar A380 multiple times from Australia to Europe via Doha and it's always been amazing. Probably my fav airline, along with Qantas and Emirates.
You've never spent more than $1550 on a single airline ticket and regularly fly business and first class. If that's not impressive, nothing is! If you ever tire of what you're doing, the list of companies that would want you for head of corporate travel would be endless. Love your reviews!
Business Class for $1,500 is very very cheap. Generally Business Class costs upward of $3,000 to $5,000 during peak season between India and US. Economy class cahrges $1,200 - $1,500 round trip.
Greatly depends on length of the flight, most transatlantic flights are $2,000 minimum and thats for basic economy, first class usually runs $10,000 no matter the airline

I flew Qatar First Class, BKK to DOHA. Not my favorite first class. The seats were not as private as I would have wanted, but the service was great. I asked the hostess to take me on a tour of the plane. We walked through the whole plane front to back and top to bottom.
I love to travel but hate flying so I find myself have panic attacks too. The only time I was checked on was when I was flying economy with Virgin Atlantic the staff were so helpful. It is so nice to hear that the staff helped this passenger and makes me think that there are airlines out there that do care. Love the videos 💖

I absolutely love Qatar airways. The only time that I was able to use this amazing airline was unfortunately having to leave my husband from Indonesia because of the pandemic. It is my dream to return back to Indonesia (Java) when immigration allows US Citizens (tourist) back in. Thank you Dan for being the most insightful and extremely humble traveler. @nonstopdan : I just had travelled Qatar airways 2 weeks back for a Business Trip to Frankfurt, from Bangalore via Doha. 3 flights were the 777-300ER and one was the 787-8. I would say, the Q-Suite of 7777-300ER was better and the privacy was much much more with the sliding doors. The seats on the 787-8 were something like urs in this A380 video.
Just flew Qatar from Bangkok to Doha two days ago in business class. It's the best I've flown in a long time. Just excellent and I can't wait to fly them again.

Your comments on Airbus A350 is in correct. 1. It is a paint issue it is not structural one, 2. Airbus is fully aware of the issues and is working with the airline.
The good thing you have experienced is that you had your windows open during the flight. I flew Qatar airways throughout 2023 and I was forced to close the windows by the crew.

I just flew from Doha-LHR 2 days ago with A380. It was amazing experience with the bar and full service dinning, they even serve stuffed turkey and Christmas pudding on the menu!
I went round trip from GRU to Doha on February 2021 on an A350 with QSuites. The flight had full service with candles and even chocolates before landing. The only thing missing were the hot towels

Singapore flys a380s with mostly business class seats , some Premium Economy, and NO economy seats from Singapore to New York , because the flight is over 18 hours long.
There is no doubt that the A380 is the passenger's favourite. I know it will not happen, but I wish that it was still being made by Airbus. The other jets of today simply don't offer the same experience as the A380.

The A380 biz class on Emirates LAX to Zurich is best of the biz class flight experiences Ive experienced, this was back pre pandemic when a Maybach limo delivery from your house to airport and from airport to your hotel, I actually prefer A380 for biz class for almost all of the carriers esp long flights as the humidity and cabin pressure is better than other aircraft with exception of Boeing 787.
My wife and I took that same DOH to CDG route on QA business class back in November 2019. God I miss that cabin! Hopefully we could travel to that side of the world again soon.
I was paid by an employer to fly from Australia to London on Qatar. At heathrow I was stunned that I check in I was ordered by a highly belligerent dude at their desk to take my qantas tags off. I did not have scissors or a knife in me. I was stunned by the rudeness and laid a complaint - a very bad look to abuse your clients
economy in the aft section of the A380-800 upper deck is just desperate . . . any full service A380-800 cabin in regular schedule services should be configured to carry no more than 483 paxs - 530 paxs regardless of other priorities . . .
That Qatar lounge is perfect and I have never seen anything so beautiful......absolutely amazing and when provided the first class on Qatar is one of the best right up there with Singapore Airlines.

I flew four Q-Suites Segments in October from ORD-DOH-MLE and service was full and complete with more than adequate crew. All 777 (300 and 200). I was going to post this on one of your videos a couple of months back but alas… life. Keep up the good work. My service was spectacular on all four legs.

I just flew from Doha-LHR 2 days ago with A380. It was amazing experience with the bar and full service dinning, they even serve stuffed turkey and Christmas pudding on the menu!

I went round trip from GRU to Doha on February 2021 on an A350 with QSuites. The flight had full service with candles and even chocolates before landing. The only thing missing were the hot towels

Singapore flys a380s with mostly business class seats , some Premium Economy, and NO economy seats from Singapore to New York , because the flight is over 18 hours long.

There is no doubt that the A380 is the passenger's favourite. I know it will not happen, but I wish that it was still being made by Airbus. The other jets of today simply don't offer the same experience as the A380.

A350s ... due to structural issues that Airbus refuses to acknowledge" - Well, according to the court ruling this case some weeks ago, this is *not* a structural issue, and Airbus is not ignoring it, but has a different understanding of what's going on (and so do all other airlines operating an A380). I wonder if you could assess this issue again, as your wording appears to be one-sided.
Other than that, this is again a truly great video. Thank you so much for your mouth-watering review and these many details I would not have noticed had you not mention them. I've been on Qatar Airways' A380 from Frankfurt to Doha before the pandemic and share all of what you've shown and described so detail-obsessed and positive as you did. Thank you so much for making and sharing.
The A380 biz class on Emirates LAX to Zurich is best of the biz class flight experiences Ive experienced, this was back pre pandemic when a Maybach limo delivery from your house to airport and from airport to your hotel, I actually prefer A380 for biz class for almost all of the carriers esp long flights as the humidity and cabin pressure is better than other aircraft with exception of Boeing 787.

London on Qatar. At heathrow I was stunned that I check in I was ordered by a highly belligerent dude at their desk to take my qantas tags off. I did not have scissors or a knife in me. I was stunned by the rudeness and laid a complaint - a very bad look to abuse your clients
economy in the aft section of the A380-800 upper deck is just desperate . . . any full service A380-800 cabin in regular schedule services should be configured to carry no more than 483 paxs - 530 paxs regardless of other priorities . . .
That Qatar lounge is perfect and I have never seen anything so beautiful......absolutely amazing and when provided the first class on Qatar is one of the best right up there with Singapore Airlines.

I flew four Q-Suites Segments in October from ORD-DOH-MLE and service was full and complete with more than adequate crew. All 777 (300 and 200). I was going to post this on one of your videos a couple of months back but alas… life. Keep up the good work. My service was spectacular on all four legs.

I'm confused, you paid 1500usd on a business class seat? Because for economy class is about £1800 from London to Singapore.
I have EDI-DOH-MEL flights booked in March (assuming Australia let’s us in) DOH to MEL is scheduled on a 350-1000 Q-suites, do you think they would swap this leg out for a 380? The EDI to DOH is on a 787.
