In today’s episode we deep dive POV style into how great the Tow/Haul Mode works in the Next Generation Ford Ranger Raptor.
We will discuss options on how to activate it, and we will listen and look at how the car behaves with Tow/Haul Mode opposed to using Normal and Sports Mode.

Apparently you can do this yourself if you have a laptop and a cable that is compatible with Forscan. I'd much rather leave it to the professionals as I didn't want to brick my car!! Eddie

Great video thanks Eddie, it’s odd that Ford disabled haul mode on the Raptor, on their website it says it’s there for all ranger models except Raptor - I wonder why they disabled it?
Had not heard of Forscan before - interesting that it can unlock features that are there.

Thank you mate! Yeah I know right. I'm not sure why a lot of the features are disabled. Check out the link and see what you can turn on. In the latest video I talk a little about other ways to activate it other than just using Stewart. Thanks for checking in!
Have u done any long trips towing in the raptor? What’s the fuel consumption like? Have u had to take extra fuel with you?I also have a camper trailer 1000kg empty and still undecided on the raptor or wildtrak and I’m coming from a 200 series.
Hey mate, really depends on how you use the car, ie Towing on the black stuff vs low range/high range in the bush vs towing on sand will all yield different results. There is a couple long range fuel tank options available ~140 ltrs so much the same as our old Y62 patrol. With the raptor, my average fuel towing a tool trailer, or fanging around on the streets and bush is 15.9 L/100. The Y62 was 22 L/100. That's mostly city/highway driving in traffic, when towing the camper its like average 12-13 L/100 on the open road.
Raptor vs WT in my eyes shouldn't come down to fuel consumption only. The Raptor might cost you $10-30 extra per fill, but you get a friggen huge amount of smiles per miles compared to the WT. Don't get me wrong, the WT's are also awesome, but if its fun you're after, the Raptor is the go. People get hung up on the fact that it can only tow 2.5T, but in reality, you should NEVER tow anything that's heavier than the car anyway as highlighted by lots of engineers.
In my opinion - from someone who has towed 3-3.5T regularly, leave the job to the big boys like RAM 2500 and not a 2.2T duel cab ute.

Forgot to add, I won't bother with a long range tank at this stage, unless I plan on crossing the Simpson Desert a few times... Another wrong with a 20LT jerry can which should get you 100-133kms. Then, simply take it out after the trip =)

Everything but this mode is available, do you need to activate it?

Maybe I'll cruse around in sports mode for now as I find it sluggish at times.
How awesome mate!! Yeah honestly sports mode with: steering comfort, exhaust on quiet (good for long drives) and suspension in normal is pretty good for towing!!
