fellow mobile mechanic here just getting geared up to do a tranny 2.2 clutch in the rain lol i always watch your vids kev even though i have done many transit clutches, your videos always show a quicker way! big respect to you bro!!
@@WMCS cheers brother! i did a mk6 rwd tranny yesterday although it was easy enough i thought how the fuck does he do detailed camera work as well as this! big respect to you.
You are good at that, man. After watching your video, I now have more respect for all the mechanics out there that do this sort of thing day in, day out, in all weathers (It's something that I wouldn't have the patience to do)! Good luck to you!
Top job mate you mate that look easy and definitely isn't. I've a noise coming from my 08 2.2 85bhp fwd like clutch plate slapping around or something goes away when clutch pressed in worse wen cold. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark
@12.34 ! Yep, been there, know exactly how that feels!! Massive relief when it slides into place just as your about all out of puff and stuck under the motor! Good job :)
Nice video 👍 I was considering to do it by myself on the carpark outside my house, but after watching this video no chance... I will leave it to professional mechanic with proper equipment :)
As others have said, Christ that Box looked heavy! DIYing the clutch on my MK1 Yaris this weekend, that box probably doesn't even weigh half of a transit one 😂.
Can I ask does the transit mk 7 fwd driveshaft come with a cir clip I’ve removed mine to replace but i can’t get the new driveshaft back in, when I replaced the oil seal there was a black ring just past the seal against some bearings but I couldn’t imagine how it would prevent the driveshaft from going in any ideas ? Thank you for all the videos you do I’ll be contacting you soon for a clutch replacement
Good vid, looks hard and awkward, I'm getting too old for all that. Question - think my slave cylinder needs doing, do you cover that too ? Do you supply parts ? Thanks
What was that uj socket you used when removing the bolts for gearbox mounts up top. Not seen one before. Marine engineer here. Respect for getting under there. Proper job 😊
Fantastic video but all was going well till you took the gearbox out then like magic the clutch and flywheel was changed so this is more a very good video on dismantling a gearbox to get to then clutch
Spojky jsou fajn bere se za ně dost peněz taky je rád dělám, na rozdíl od jiných prací na autech které se finančně nevyplácí, mít jen spojky by bylo ideální řešení to už tvrdím 25let.
Question I'm considering to my own clutch on my campervan I get everything when your underneath but when you go in the bonnet is it just the other engine mount and the clutch cable your are remlving?
Kyle Mclachlan it’s rubber grease. It stops the bolts from seizing up and prevents the clutch plate rusting against the gearbox spline. A big cause for premature clutch wear.
I wouldn’t put the jack stands under the outer cill pinch welds on a mk7 transit there is no strength in the cills, I appreciate there probably there as a back up. Ive seen many just crumple in when jacked from that position.
@@WMCS I can't i am doing some research for a friend and SHE knows nothing about where to look.Thought there may have been an opening around that area seems strange to have to remove the gearbox for a bracket
@@WMCS hi what impact gun are you using, do you recommended it I got to do this same job tomorrow, you made it look easy which I know it ain't, you got to have some power to lift that box lol
tom thompson it’s definitely hard work ... I suppose you have to enjoy it otherwise it’ll definitely be a daily struggle. Thanks for visiting the channel and leaving a review. Much appreciated
Great job..old school mechanic. Doing a clutch outside, on his back. What a legend!
This guy is a proper mechanic , on his back changing a clutch is a tough job and he breezed it......👍👍👍

The little slap on the back of the box... That's when we know the box was heavy 😂. Fer play
Hats of to you, I have never seen anyone change a clutch on a driveway.
Michael Grant thanks for taking time to leave a feedback. Much appreciated

That is hard work lifting that box on your own, 3 shredded wheat this dood
0 0 😆😂. It can get a bit heavy. Definitely a heavy breakfast required with 🥓 bacon drippings. Lol🥳

It’s a MAC VUP2A. One of the best in the business. It can take an impact load of over 1200nm..
Did one today, I'd forgotten how heavy that bloody box is! 👍
Scottish Outdoors it’s a right little number that weight is. Glad you got through it ok ... thumbs up to you mate.
@@WMCS Thanks bud, my tendons felt it this morning, I could barely grip a cup of coffee! 😄☠ Man this old age thing proper sucks..
Scottish Outdoors 😂😂... tell me about it... I’m thinking of getting an exoskeleton myself...
@@WMCS Ever done one of the rear wheel drive transits on axle stands? Good job by the way, hard work on your back in the cold, working alone.
Cunning Stunt yes I have mate. Even the ripper ones. Fairly straight forward.
Great video thanks. Glad I watched. I considered having a go Diy but I think I'll leave to the professionals
Great video!! It was very helpful during the change of my clutch yesterday :)

Thanks for the feedback.
@@WMCS i have one question. I just need to fill the gearbox with oil. But where is the fill plug located? I think that im blind atm haha
Kevin Hermans
Remove the reverse switch and do it through there. It’s the easiest way.
Thanks.
@@WMCS thanks mate
How much would cost a job like that on a transit 2.4 mk7 with the 6 speed box ?

Que tío tan fuerte es el mejor mecánico que visto el solo se monta una caja cambios sin ayuda

Hi hey i have a problem with the crank sensor BRACKET are you able to replace it without removing or splitting gearbox from engine.Cheers
I think so Gino. Have a look

Do you have to empty the gearbox oil if your just replacing the Concentric Slave Cylinder
What size impact gun do you use to undo the gearbox 1/2 or 3/4 cheers
rude gordon
In this particular repair it’s all 1/2 drive. Sometimes I use reducer to drop down to 3/8 for access purpose.

It is honestly not a bad job. Definitely use your impact gun. Without filming it takes me about 3hours.
