      @@johnboy1042 it will massively vary depending on quality of parts , labour rates etc but as a rough guide expect to pay anywhere from £900 - £1300 area for clutch kit and dual mass flywheel

    I struggled to get the shift cables off, the plastic bit you twist and pull was pretty awkward to reach and mine was stuck. I tried for 20 mins then just undid the 13mm bolt and 13mm nut instead and took the whole plate/cable mount piece off the gearbox, way easier and less chance of breaking 15 year old plastic parts

    A few months ago I had a clutch and solid fly fitted on my mk7 transit. A few days ago it developed a chattering that sounds like the due mass LOLZ...
    Chattering disappeares if I dip the clutch pedal or give a few revs.
    Is my single mass fly kaput?
    Or any idea?

      I booked in for service next Friday with a mechanic I like and trust... knows transits...
      I said if he can figure and fix for relatively cheap, I want him to do it.
      If it is a clutch or fly, that really wants doing under warranty, I'll have to take it to the garage that fitted it. But don't want to as such.

    Would incorrect clutch fitting (without self adjusting tool) cause a clutch pedal to take 2-3 seconds to return up after a brand new 3pc kit/flywheel and master cylinder? It's been pressure bled so no air in clutch hydraulic system, gear change is fine, no noises, biting point good, clutch pedal is normal going down but just on engagement (coming up) its slow to return. Would appreciate any help thanks
    It's a transit fwd 2.2 2012 euro 5. It has a round valve I believe in the clutch line in the bulkhead btw but don't know what it does.

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It shouldn’t be to do with that round cylinder , are you sure you haven’t double sealed the slave or master cylinder? It could be restricting the flow if so.. I’ve done it myself before 🙈

    • @Liveforeever
      @Liveforeever 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@diydaly seals are on properly (the o rings and the longer sleeve type seal on end of flexi hose that goes into the bleeder part). Master cylinder has been changed with no difference. Flexi hose and the round valve thing have both been removed and checked for flow restriction but seem fine. I have done a few of these 2.2 fwd transits with sac clutches and never had to use the sac tool aslong as they're bolted on 1/4 turn at a time in a star pattern and not had a problem. Could it be the pressure plate with faulty fingers on not forcing the csc and in consequently the pedal back like it should? Thanks for reply btw

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Liveforeever yeah you should be fine fitting it without the tool and it won’t cause that issue tbf .. I have had a similar fault on a 2012 mk7 it turned out to be the x shaped rubber valve piece that I’m sure was fitted into the valve / union piece where the pipe connects on the outside of the box .. it was a while ago now! But I’m sure it was a green rubber insert piece that was in correctly .. it’s was twisted on its side

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s only really small and fitted inside the connector / valve

    Holly sugar that thing is disgusting. All that dirt and caked on rust, must be because of the salt on the roads. Geees, I've seen Ozzie cars thrown to the tip in better condition. ...and working on that must be hell ! If it wasn't for the fact that the Transits are so popular here as well, we'd be sending them all back to England for a premium! (BTW: Back in the 90's private collectors in England bought all the remainning Mini Moke Californians and had them shipped to England as they were never made there. NOw its VERY rare to see a Moke on the road here.
