Hiking the ALTA VIA 1 on the Dolomites | Part 1

The Alta Via 1 is a trail running North to South across the Dolomites. It starts at Lago di Braies (Braies Lake) and ends near the city of Belluno in the region of Veneto.
The week prior (and following), the weather in the region had been (and will be) incredibly bad, hail storms causing damage to things and people. Strong winds and rain flattened pine forests and flooded towns.
The weather forecast for the week of my hike wasn't great, but neither too awful. The first day was generally ok, even if colder than usual. The first night it rained on and off and the morning of the second day was also rainy. As you'll see, this rainy, foggy, cloudy weather severely impacted the views.
