We hiked 140km on the mountains across Mallorca | GR-221
มุมมอง 25014 วันที่ผ่านมา
Not a solo hike this time around. I met Valentina on the Fishermen's Trail and more than a year later are schedules finally agreed with each other allowing us to hike across the Serra de Tramuntana mountains in Mallorca. It's also known as the GR-221 or Dry Stone Route and you'll see why. Goats, wind and rocks are companions throughout this hike; starting at Port d'Andratx on the western coast ...
Hiking around Menorca on the Camí de Cavalls | Last 3 days.
มุมมอง 14221 วันที่ผ่านมา
I didn't think the last few days would bring much when it comes to beauty but boy was I wrong. I was expecting touristy resorts and big sea front hotels and instead I got a killer sunset, the clearest water I've seen in a long time and cute country lanes.
Hiking around Menorca on the Camí de Cavalls | Part 4
มุมมอง 115หลายเดือนก่อน
Reaching the halfway point on the Cami de Cavalls and starting to make my way towards the south of the island. From lush vegetation to barren land to turquoise waters. This is why I love hiking through a place. You get to experience everything the environment throws at you. And it's beautiful.
Hiking around Menorca on the Camí de Cavalls | Part 3

Entering the wilder part of the island. From Platges de Fornell I took a taxi, which saved me around 8km, to Platja de Binimel-la'. From there I walked to Cala Morell where I bought very expensive water and camped overnight. Off to Ciutadella in the next video :)

Hiking around the Coast of Menorca on the Camí de Cavalls | Part 1

One of the Spanish Balearic islands, Menorca is famous for its beautiful Calas (coves/bays) with cristalline, turquoise water and sandy beaches; some say, the best in Europe! (They haven't been to Sardinia though ;P ) I, on the other hand, have a slightly different idea of what a holiday is so instead of enjoying an all-inclusive resort, I decided to hike the entire coastline for about 180km ca...
Hiking in the French Alps on the Tour des Glaciers | PART 4 Finale
มุมมอง 512 หลายเดือนก่อน
2 days in 1 video since day 4 was pretty uneventful and the views the same for almost all the way. Just gently going down one mountain and gently up the other on a mostly straight trail. The second final day was a beautiful descent between green mountain meadows all the way into Modane. Hope you enjoyed this series!
Hiking in the French Alps on the Tour des Glaciers | *The hardest day* PART 3
มุมมอง 802 หลายเดือนก่อน
By far the hardest day I've ever had in the mountains, or anywhere really. Difficult terrain pretty much all the way through. A couple of close calls (1 slightly my fault for not checking the GPS track) and 4 steep climbs/scrambles/via ferrata. Let me tell you, that charcuterie board at the end was WELL deserved. And they make their own Coca-Cola! How cool is that!!
Hiking in the French Alps on the Tour des Glaciers | PART 2
มุมมอง 1053 หลายเดือนก่อน
Definitely the best day on this trek! So many animals, it was like being on the Nat Geo channel. Of all the times I've been to the Alps, including when I was a kid, this is the first time I've seen so many, or any really. I suppose it's a less travelled way and these beautiful beings can still call these beautiful places home.
Hiking across the 7 Sisters cliffs in the South of England | *silent hiking*

Had issues with the footage from the Glaciers tour but everything is resolved and Part 2 will be posted at the end of the week or early next week. In the meantime, hope you'll enjoy this quick trip on the Southern coast of England. I did visit and walked on the cliffs by Dover a few years back but had never been to Brighton. I've always wanted to do this walk and finally I got a long weekend to...
Hiking in the French Alps on the Tour des Glaciers | PART 1
มุมมอง 1143 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's summer and for me that means MOUNTAINS!! The Tour of the Glaciers in the Vanoise Valley National Park is a high altitude (avg 2500m) loop trail starting and ending in Modane just across the Italian border. Less touristy than the Tour du Mont Blanc or the Dolomites side of the Alps which means sketchy terrain at times (that 3rd day man...), Nat Geo worthy animal encounters and blissful soli...
Hiking on the West Highland Way Ep.4 | Glencoe Magic 🦌

The last two days. It was an epic walk. Hiking on the West Highland Way Ep.3 | To the peaks!
มุมมอง 1975 หลายเดือนก่อน
From Inverarnan to Inverornan and beyond I make my way to a beautiful wild camping spot just before Glencoe. This is where things get more interesting and even more beautiful. I have to admit, the 2 days along Loch Lomond got a bit boring after a while but now the scenery is much more varied and I'm a sucker for hills and mountains so finally I see some peaks! Music: "Scott Buckley - Snowfall" ...

This looks and sounds absolutely amazing my friend! Brilliant scenery
The aerial view is wonderful. The greenery in the hill and the beauty of nature are nice and splendid! Fantastic and relaxing for a sky tour! It is so enjoyable to be in there! Great sharing, my good friend.
Mallorca is very beautiful❤
Hi Julia. That was beautiful and a pleasure to watch. I walked 8 stages in 2023 and returned in september 2024 to walk the full 10 stages. Your video gives a real good feel for the route. The food you had looked really nice. All the best 👍. Andrew
Well, this is an unexpected full circle moment... I watched your video when I was doing research for the trail. :D
@JuliaHikesToEat And I watched your trip around Menorca last night. It was very helpful 🙂.Hopefully, I will get to do it in 2025 . Take care 👍
Amazing shots my friend! Views are just breathtaking!
Me and my girlfriend completed the whole Cami De Cavalls in 6 days, 2 weeks ago. Amazing scenery, great walking...sore feet 😂
I felt like a toddler learning how to walk. Kept tripping on still rocks, loose rocks, roots. It was an unwanted foot massage 😅
What a beautiful scenery my friend, place looks so inviting and adventurous! Love it!
Well done. Thx for sharing.
This would be a dream hike for sure!Thank you for sharing with us this beauty and serenity. Enjoyed this video so much. Cheers 🍻 from Japan✌😉✌🐶💚💙
I really enjoyed your video! It has such a peaceful and relaxing vibe. You got my subscription!
What a beautiful scenery. This looks amazing my friend!
Apologies about the loud music half way through. Didn't realise it was incorporated in the final upload until days later. :(
Gorgeous panoramic views, beautiful film my friend!
Thank you taking us on your adventure ❤
Rocks!
Hi, I walked the WHW solo maybe a couple of weeks or so after you and had snow on Rannoch moor and in Glencoe. Your films brought back some great memories and I also found some fantastic trail friends, thank you for your series it was extremely enjoyable. Best regards, Chris. 👍👍👍
@@chrisholt2474Glad you enjoyed it even with the snow! i still can’t believe how lucky I was with the weather window! Thanks!
Enjoyed the video, a little bit of a feedback however the music is quite loud when youre talking not sure if its intended but would be nice to hear what youre saying, other than that loved the video!
This feels so surreal to watch after have done the WHW myself couple of weeks ago, definitely a welcomed throwback thanks! Hope you enjoyed the hike :)
Had the same. Had the dream to walk the WHW for a while and finally in 2023 I did it. Great experience. I see you enjoyed it much as I did. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video. I like the ambient music and natural sounds as opposed to talking. Given me some inspiration to try it, im doing the Alta Via 1 in September so will see how that goes first !
Such a beautiful and unique scenery my friend! Amazing episode 🔥
I enjoyed this lovely video debs xx
Such a lovely presentation my friend! Love it
Excellent
Hi. What month did you do it in? Thanks
It was the first 2 weeks of August 2023. Have to say, this was not normal. It was record hot temperatures for the area that year which also caused the catastrophic thunderstorms. It was also then snowing at higher altitudes which is unheard of. Cheers :)This is just a few weeks prior and the normal m.th-cam.com/video/BLz1Hl6aJXQ/w-d-xo.html
damn weather
Good job, good effort, this video makes me want to hike the TMB today and not wait until next year, thanks for sharing,
Beautiful views, exciting landscapes, greetings!
You filmed some beautiful shots for us to watch and enjoy. This was really special journey, Dolomites are so unique!
This is masterpiece my friend, what a great atmosphere! Bravo 👏👏
I am speechless my friend, absolutely breathtaking work!
Wow, the Lake District has a unique landscape and looks so beautiful. Gorgeous video of your hiking adventure Julia. Looks unbelievable out there
Enjoyed this debs xx
We pay whole runway we use whole runway
😂
That looks a very late rotate
Indeed! All the ones before would take off just past the airport. I guess it was very heavy
❤
What makes it a forest?
I really enjoyed this video with my hot chocolate fan debs xx.....
Enjoyed that ! New sub here , keep it up 🏕
Absolutely gorgeous work my friend!
Very cool intro! :)
Hi! Trying this hike out in May, what time do you think is the latest one should set out from Porto Covo? Thanks! :)
Hi! First of all thanks for watching and reaching out. I left as soon as I could after breakfast at the hostel. It was around 8:30am. But this is just me! I like leaving early and having to deal with less people on the trail (because I stop to take photos, videos and so on). Then I guess it depends on you :) and your level of fitness. It's about 19.5km or 12 miles, most of it in quite deep sand which will slow you down and tire you. With all my stops + lunch break I arrived at Milfontes around 3/4pm. May is going to be quite hot as well so bring water and I'd suggest leaving as early as possible to walk many miles before the hottest hours!! And have fun. It's a spectacular walk.
Brilliant video my friend, this looks just stunning! Shots and music are phenomenal!
Wonderful hike Julia and you filmed it beautifully. Incredible views and atmosphere out there. 5 Terre is so gorgeous but the cities or villages are so crowded in summer time ;) Really nice video!
This looks absolutely gorgeous, what a scenery! These shots are spectacular!
Gorgeous shots my friend, absolutely stunning views and presentation! Music fits insanely beautiful!
Two for the price of one, Tintern Abbey is absolutely beautiful and church ruins looks like a great to explore. Great vlog and subscribed to your channel.
Thank you. You don't know how much that means! :D
Thank you for posting this! How long did half the trip take? Is the path marked enough to not think 'I'm lost!!' (I guess in this day and age of google, we're never reallly lost...but still)
I believe the entire thing is a little short of 17km (10.5 miles). I think it took me a couple of hours to get to Bourton, maybe a little longer because of the filming. The trail is well signposted. It was easy to follow. I believe the only time I got a little bit off route was around 3:40 in the video. I went into the cattle field and got stuck in it when the actual path was probably 10 metres to my right over a hedgerow. Luckily, I found a hole in the hedgerow and could cross over. But it was me not paying attention, getting distracted by the cows xD. And another time I couldn't open one of those metal gates so I thought it was the wrong way when actually, again, it was me. Gates are my nemesis. Thanks for watching!
I'll be doing this in 6 weeks, can't wait! Just on British Airways.
I like it. It sounds very noisy, but to me it's comforting!!!
